Turtleboy’s Facebook page today is littered with people arguing about the 100 Notre Dame graduates who walked out of their graduation when Vice President Mike Pence was introduced to give his commencement speech:

My take on this is simple – it’s a free country, so do whatever you want. I don’t care if you walk out of your own graduation. It is disrespectful, which is obviously what they intended to do. But that’s OK because being respectful is not a requirement of any American citizen. If you don’t respect Mike Pence and don’t wanna hear him speak because you think he’s an asshole, I’m not gonna try to convince you otherwise.

But I am gonna point out the hypocrisy of the way Joe Biden was treated by students in 2016:

And the way Barrack Obama was treated by students in 2009:

Notice not one person got up and walked out. Yes, there were a shitload of protests when Obama spoke, because his views on abortion run contrary to Catholic teachings, and Notre Dame is a Catholic University. But they all took place outside. Not one person got up and walked out when he was introduced. Not one. Same thing with Biden. And that’s a good thing in my opinion, because adults should be able to sit through and stomach a graduation speaker, despite how nauseating they find them. Elizabeth Warren just gave the graduation speech at The UMass. Despite my personal disgust for the white woman who pretended to be Native American for personal gain, I’d still sit there and let her say what she has to say. But that’s because I don’t wanna make my graduation all about me. And at the end of the day that’s all this was – look at me narcissism:

The bottom line is that THIS is why Donald Trump and Mike Pence are in power in the first place. Because Americans can see for their own eyes that one side of the aisle tends to be tolerant, and the other side tends to be intolerant. You know we like to give it hypocritical conservatives who turn into snowflakes every time someone says something mean about Trump. But it’s clear that when it comes to tolerating differing viewpoints, conservatives are more grown up than liberals. In the words of Mike Pence, “quit being gay.”

Educated is not the same as intelligent. Any moron with money can get into and graduate from college these days, just look at Hampshire College.

Libs love to tell you about their degrees – too bad all that “education” doesn’t help them realize how unintelligent they still are.

Actually there was this announcement just prior to the “snow flurry”:

“Will the snowflakes who give total mindless allegiance to the anti America, far left Democrat Party agenda please leave so the better educated and patriotic graduates, along with their guests, can listen to Vice President Pence speak.”

(Well – should have been announced!)

In addition to being disrespectful, the disruption they caused impacted those who wanted to see him. Since you knew he would be speaking, you should have skipped the ceremony all together.

This is how the schools are educating people today. When the left doesn’t agree with something, they call it hate speech and try to ban it.

For those who actually studied something that will result in getting a real job, congratulations. For those who studied something stupid, like transgender studies, good luck finding a job.

Good for them. They did it silently and quickly. Whine some more.

Eh Karma will get these little turds! Ya know, when they apply for jobs at Raytheon, (because they “deserve” them) And are told neither degrees in “Early African basket weaving” or “Make up habits of a 16th century Saloon girl” an engineer does make.

They needed to walk out. After borrowing $190,000 for their worthless degree, somebody has to deliver pizzas.

An unfortunate and immature horrendous display of [college graduates – really?] shame fullness heading toward a life of loserville. Grow. The. Fuck. Up. You little bitch spoiled babies. Your degree means absolutely nothing when you act this way. You are unemployable.

So ok. What ever happened to personal politics aside and respect for the office of the POTUS and Vice – post November elections? What ever happened to the campaign for the United States Presidency was over come inauguration and unity and bonding began as a people? I voted. I would have backed who ever got elected. I yield to the majority opinion.

So you college spoiled brats hooked on social media don’t give me the Electoral College versus the popular vote bullshit. This is our system. It has been this way forever since day one in America. Take it up with our founding fathers. If they were still around they’d tell to go fuck off with their wigs and wooden teeth.

So hey continuous annoying cry babies and sore losers – You don’t like it? Lobby to change it but in the meantime just sit down and just shut the fuck up and support our current Commander in Chief.

What I’d like to see is for that /pol group to publicly identify these snowflakes, because as a potential employer I’d like to keep these sjw types from infecting my workplace.

People don’t seem to realize that you can have respect for the office, while not 100% agreeing with the office holder. And guess what – nobody agrees 100% with anybody else unless they’re a toady.
I think we need to go back to some core values and showing a little respect.

Thinking it disrespectful or not to walk out of your own graduation is a matter of opinion. To me, it depends on how it is done. However, I have to disagree with the narcissist designation. For that to be true there would need to have been some kind of real active disruption in the walk out. From what I see in the video, they just got up and walked out. No chanting, no booing, no active attempts to draw any attention, just walking out. Unlike other speakers at other universities, there was no attempt to prevent Pence from speaking, or any attempt to shout him down. As for your other point, yes people would have been “labeled” if they had walked out on Obama or Biden, and you can complain about that if you wish but its no different than what you are doing now to the ones who walked out on Pence. Personally, I would not find fault in anyone who had walked out on Obama or Biden if done in the manner these kids did to Pence. If this act is something that bothered you this much, I have wonder who the snowflakes really are in this whole thing.

People will do what they will do, because we are a free society. However, when “tolerance” is what you preach, maybe it’s something that should be practiced as well. And this applies to both sides of the aisle, but I have to agree with TBS; that the left is less tolerant of the right than vice-versa.

They created a distraction. It was not like they were suddenly surprised to see Pence. While you say they were quiet I’m sure there were all not seated on the end and other graduates were inconvenienced by them.

No amount of rationalizing (what you libs do best) changes what happened. TB nailed it and your straw man arguments to justify or excuse their actions only proves he was spot on. This is why liberalism appeal to these young kids – they are naturally narcissistic at this age. The future of this country is fucked with these dumbed down, weak minded, intolerant spoiled brats.

Exactly. If graduates had walked out on Obama, they might have been considered racist. However, it is not simply the color of Obama’s skin that would have been the cause for questioning if racism was the motivation for walking out. Obama had already been subjected to racist actions such as the outright refusal of the right wing to work with him on any issue despite Obama’s right-of-center positions , the false claims that Obama was a Muslim and “friend to terrorists,” and the refusal to believe that he is a citizen of the U.S. The current vice-President was selected and won with the person who repeatedly alleged without proof that Obama was not a citizen and should not be President. Conservatives think that they are wrongly accused of racism only because situations involve someone who is not white. They can’t see the situations in larger contexts or with any empathy. Ots possible that the graduates, despite disagreement with some of Obama’s positions, felt that Obama had already been subjected to racist shit and that they didn’t want walking out to be misconstrued as part of that shit. Maybe those who walked out on Pence wanted it to be clear that they don’t want to listen to someone who rose to power with a blatant bigot like Trump who wins by dividing and scapegoating. As much as the graduates might disagree with Pence, it is reasonable to assume that they would not have walked out if he had not been there as a representative of an administration led by someone they believe is a traitor to America with anti-American and unacceptable intolerance. But he was at their graduation as a representative. They earned their right to participate in the ceremony and hey reacted in the most respectful manner possible

I agree 100 percent!!! these college kids are pieces of shit who have no respect for these invited speakers. They are an embarrassment I didn’t like Obama but I would never disrespect him or say he wasn’t
My president. It really worries me what kind of young adults we have. If we don’t agree with them they become violent and disrespectful. The college’s let them get away with it. Elizabeth Warren. Makes me sick too. But again I would never walk out and act like a.Idiot like these piece of shit college shitheads

If I were graduating and knew that the commencement speaker were questionable, I wouldn’t even bother showing up to commencement and just receive my diploma in the mail. That would have been the better option instead of walking-out on the Vice President.

Secondly, Notre Dame hasn’t been Catholic since the late-’60’s. It’s an overpriced, elitist, football-loving school that have dissidents on the faculty. (Only the architecture school is good) Most good Catholic families cannot afford it. (Same with B.C. and H.C.)

Definitely attention seekers because nobody is forced to attend their own graduation ceremony. They could have protested by not attending, but then they couldn’t have their group masterbation moment. Wish Universities would implement a 3 month hold on issuing the degrees of those that disrupt the ceremony for the rest of the students and their families. Maybe not being able to apply and interview for jobs with a degree until September will give the next group of losers pause.

If anyone walked out on Obama they would have been deemed racist/xenophobic, etc.

This is why I fucking hate SJWs. It’s all well and good until you disagree with them, then you’re wrong and are “labelled”

I say fuck them all, because they’re the ones playing with fire who will get burned in the end. Snowflakes ALWAYS melt.

Grow up idiots. Everyone who goes to that university (it’s expensive)
is a privileged whelp. I had to listen to Maura Healey croak on at my
community college graduation last week, she doesn’t represent me (as an
actually WORKING individual) but I stayed seated anyway. Not to mention
I ALSO had to listen to Warren speak at UMASS and make digs at Trump
      the whole speech!!

If you’re going to question in a comment how much others have learned, you should at least learn the correct spelling of common words. “There” in the context of your message should have been spelled “their.” I’m certain that the persons you criticized learned how to spell long before they arrived at college.
