The RootBaltimore City teacher has been placed on administrative leave, and a female student has been charged with assault, after a classroom incident involving a cellphone turned violent and the bulk of it was caught on tape.

According to WBAL, the fight began at Carver Vocational High School in West Baltimore on Friday after the teacher asked the 17-year-old senior to leave because she was talking on her cellphone in class. In the video the student can be seen leaving the class and pushing a chair in the direction of the teacher. The student also throws something across the teacher’s desk in the teacher’s direction.

Outside the classroom, the student throws a notebook at the teacher and the teacher can be seen charging the student. A male student attempts to break it up, but the teacher can be heard on tape yelling, “I’ll kill you up in here [expletive]; what the [expletive] you think this is,” she says.

Oh you wanna throw a book at me?

Cool. I outweigh you by 40 pounds, I was born and raised in Baltimore back when we didn’t whine about police brutality, and I wasn’t brought up to take shit from some snot nosed 16 year old who thinks she’s hard. Therefore I’m gonna grab you by your hair and slam you into a locker:

This teacher should get a medal. Seriously. Good for her for taking a stand. Sure, it’s not exactly policy to kick the shit out of a kid when they act like this, but this is Baltimore we’re talking about here. There are no rules in Baltimore. It’s every man and woman for themselves.

I’m just sick of seeing kids who think the rules of civilized society end the moment they walk into school. If you go up to an adult in the grocery store and you throw a book in their face, you’re gonna get your ass kicked. Why should that change in the Baltimore Public Schools? How much shit are teachers supposed to take from these savages? Keep in mind, this lovely young lady threw a pen and a chair at the teacher inside the classroom before this video even started. Apparently that video is no longer available, but here’s some screenshots:

Oh yea, and isn’t this the type of teacher the hippies want in urban school districts? People who clearly grew up in this type of environment. People who are representative of the the student body they teach. That’s what I keep hearing we need more of in schools according to Doherty High School Vice Principal Bernard Reese:

“According to Mr. Reese, the lack of diversity among the teaching ranks in urban systems serving large numbers of students of color creates a cultural disconnect between educators and learners that cannot be bridged.”

Yea, it’s the lack of diversity that’s making kids throw books at teachers. Clearly. LOL. This man is employed as a highly paid administrator in the Worcester Public Schools.

Oh well, at least I’m sure the parents are upset with their child for throwing a book at her teacher right? Oh wait, you mean to tell me that they’re giving her a free pass and focusing on the teacher’s reaction to the assault and battery instead?

“You’re supposed to be a role model to these children, and you took your shoes off and physically was fighting her like you was outside on the street,” Nikia Jones, the student’s aunt, told Fox 45. The student’s family told the news station that they had seen the video and admitted that she may have thrown the book at the teacher, but noted that the teacher was the adult in the situation and didn’t behave accordingly.

They admitted that she MAY HAVE thrown the book at the teacher.

Maybe. But it’s not that big of a deal. Who hasn’t thrown  book at a teacher? And when that happens teachers are supposed to stand there and take it, and then watch as the kid doesn’t get suspended so the school doesn’t go over it’s suspension quota. I’m not kidding either, President Obama issued an executive order last year mandating that schools stop suspending students of color so much. Thus they have to think twice every time they discipline a student because there are quotas.

“You send the best child you have to school, maybe a problem child, maybe a good child. But you send the best you have,” Nancy Jones, the girl’s grandmother, told Fox 45. “You don’t expect nobody to fight her like that.”

First of all, the grandmother is a Baltimore 38 at best:

You don’t expect nobody to fight her like that? Why not? She threw a Goddamn book in a teacher’s face. Probably not the first time something like that has happened to the teacher. I guess she should keep getting shit on by your savage granddaughter.

Notice we’re not hearing from Mom or Dad. Just auntie and Grandma. This is the problem that politicians refuse to directly address – American homes are breeding grounds for shitty kids. If you raised a human being who throws a book at a teacher, you have failed as a parent.

Like we said up there, the hippies are always talking about diversifying the teaching profession in this country. But if you were a person of color with a Master’s degree, why would you wanna subject yourself to such a shitty job? You could go out there and make a killing in finance, or you could become a West Baltimore public school teacher and have books thrown in your face. Tough choice.

Every day I wake up I thank God I don’t live in Baltimore.

Grandma and Auntie can;t teach her anything. You know that. Very literally, there’s a high likelihood they’re both semi-literate. Or they’d live in a safer part of town and their kid wouldn’t go to Carver, mean SAT exactly 1050. Admirably I guess, we keep up a pretense of not giving up on these kids. But parents who have not given up on them are, as I said, 100% living outside the city limits in Baltimore County. Even there it’s pretty hairy except in a few high schools, for different reasons. The ones who both care and know something are in Howard County (halfway to DC, racially mixed but with standards and expectations for all kids). Or they have found a way to go private, by scholarship if necessary. It’s really notable that nobody I ever me in Balto’s power structure, save two guys from the part of town near the steel mills, was a Baltimore public schools product. And those two guys didn’t send their kids there.

Whoever raised that bitch should have to home school her… let her throw shit at grandma or auntie. Then maybe the kids who want to learn will be able to, without this kind of distraction.

This happens every day in Worcester and we are not allowed to put a finger on any child. Just stand there and take it.

Call security? What else are you gonna do? You can’t get medieval on a minor, even your own.

As for the suspensions, I feel you. We have a suspension policy here as well. The minority parents have plenty of anecdotes, apparently true, about their kids getting suspended for nothing. But when my kid was supposed to be sent to life-choices counseling run by a firm whose Web site touted its expertise in gang interventions, I drew the line.

You know she can’t do this. The micro solution is what everyone in Baltimore does, including me: Move to the suburbs or go to private high school. It’s a system so screwed up its magnet science school has mean SAT of 1490. Middle class flight at the high school level is nearly 100%

Sadly, that school system can’t be fixed. Like, at all. No motivated parent of any means allows their child to attend a Baltimore high school except MAYBE the school for the arts. It’s totally different than in New York, where people rumble to get their kids into Stuyvesant, Brooklyn Tech, Bronx Science and others.
