Remember last week when the flag nazi butthurt patrol got all juiced up because Gabby Douglas didn’t put her hand over her heart during the National Anthem?
Yea, if you made a big deal about that you should probably go ahead and get over yourself. You don’t love America any more than Gabby Douglas, and quite frankly she has made America a million times greater than you have by commenting about your love of country on your iPhone.
Anyway, all these people who know a guy who served in Iraq and listen to Toby Keith and now think they are the self-appointed defenders of all things patriotic have something else to get fired up about now:

Ya know why these guys don’t have their hands over their hearts? Because it doesn’t matter. You don’t have to put your hand over your heart during the National Anthem. Turtleboy has literally never done it. I stand there and put my arms behind my back while I’m at attention. Guess Turtleboy must be ISIS.
I can already hear the flag nazis Googling the flag code and bringing up the fact that the rules as of 2008 state that you must place your hand on your heart. Newsflash – no one gives a shit about the flag code. If you follow it to a T you are no better of an American than anyone else. You’re just looking for a way to put yourself on a pedestal by putting other people down.
And worst of all, you are no better than any social justice warrior whining about a lack of respect and hurt feelings. If people standing at attention listening to the National Anthem isn’t good enough for you then you are a whiny little bitch looking for something to be offended by. End of story.

It simply comes down to a matter of RESPECT something that is seriously missing from todays culture

I thought that one stood at attention and was silent and respectful during the national anthem. You put your hand over your heart for the pledge of alligience. People are mixing this up.
No foul.
People randomly change the rules all the time. I only put my hand over my heart during the pledge of allegiance. That is all that is “required.”
These are Olympic athletes and as such are ambassadors for America. It’s not too much to ask that when our National Anthem is being played, to stand at attention with your hand over your heart. That being said the average citizen can do the same or stand at attention in a respectful manner.
When you’ve lost respect for our flag you’ve lost my respect.
Their is no question that these douchnoozles should be putting their hand on their heart during the pledge of allegiance and the National anthem.
You all have to remember that Turtleboy was born in the Moron Era where they didn’t have to do anything they didn’t want to do.
I have had family members fight in all American wars since ww1. Even though I don’t agree with Bush’s decision to take us to war with Iraq I still support our military, our veterans and those killed and or injured in that war.

I’m deaf and can’t hear the national anthem? Does that make me a bad American? All this symbolic stuff is bullshit. Whether it be religion country or whatever it makes no difference. What really shows lack of respect for this country is not exercising your right to vote. That’s why DC is the corrupt shithole it is.
