Editor’s Note: We published a blog an hour ago about this same story. Turns out it was a different Derek Pereira who just so happens to ride a motorcycle and brags about running from the cops on his Facebook page. Now we’ve got the right dooshnozzle!!

MassliveA motorcyclist has filed suit against a police officer following a crash in Westport that left him with more than $100,000 in medical bills. Derek Pereira was riding his motorcycle on Route 6 one night in August last summer when an officer flashed his squad car’s lights, signaling for him to pull over. Officials claim they clocked the driver traveling more than 25 miles per hour above the 50 mph speed limit. The motorcycle accelerated as the officer followed. As Pereira continued to accelerate, the officer claim the motorcycle was traveling at about 120 miles per hour. In the midst of the multi-mile chase, Westport police officer Jarrod Levesque used his police SUV to block eastbound lanes on the Route. He activated his emergency lights and, seconds later, Pereira crashed into the vehicle.

The 31-year-old admits in the suit to speeding but believes police used an unnecessary tactic to deescalate the situation, one that left him with high medical bills.  He seeks unspecified monetary damages.

“I should not have been speeding. But blocking the road at night with an SUV is dangerous. I’m lucky to be alive,” Pereira said in a statement.

Pereira was in intensive care for two weeks following the crash and says he still has pain in his knee and shoulder. In a statement shared with press, an attorney for the officer says the crash was caused by “the plaintiff’s own admitted conduct.”

Hey, here’s an idea shithead – don’t run away from the cops and you won’t get hurt. I know, I know, this is EXTREMELY hard for some people to understand. But it generally seems to work. Here’s a video from the cop’s dashboard cam. He crashed into the car around the 35 second mark:

Awwwww, did the baby get a boo-boo? That’s so sad. The cop obviously should’ve let him continue driving 120 mph to see how many people he could kill first.

Look, I have nothing against regular, non-abiding people who ride motorcycles. But there’s no one I hate more than some chumpstain on a motorcycle who thinks the rules of the road don’t apply to them. You know the type. The guy with the huge cock who revs his motorcycle at a red light just so we all know how big his cock actually is. The guy who weaves in and out of traffic on the highway, because the rules of the road don’t apply to him. And most of all, these assholes who know that the cops aren’t allowed to pursue them if they come to a quick stop, and then accelerate to 120 mph. I hope they all die a slow and painful death. No one deserves it more.

And how bout this quote?

“I should not have been speeding. But blocking the road at night with an SUV is dangerous. I’m lucky to be alive,” Pereira said in a statement.

Oh, right. Blocking the road at night with an SUV is dangerous. Not driving 120 mph while evading the cops though. That’s safe. But I’m sure it was really hard for him to see those blue lights on that straightaway of a highway. And you’re right, you are very lucky to be alive. Unfortunately for the rest of us you lived, so it looks like we weren’t as lucky.

Derek Pereira is a real winner too, as can be seen from his Facebook page. That’s why he grew a ghetto goatee that apparently is only being used to cover up a mole:

I mean, that’s what he’s doing right? That’s clearly a mole on his chin. I gotta admit, that’s a pretty creative way to cover up the ol “fuck you” that God gave you. That alone is enough to put this shitbag in the nudnik hall of fame.

Let me preface my following diatribe with this. I believe Rodney King deserved the entirety of his beatdown. I’m the most conservative asshole in Worcester county and I’m no fan of Mr. Pereira or his people. SE Massachusetts is the fucking armpit of New England.

While most of us agree that Mr. Pereira initiated the course of events, and has culpability, most commenters dismiss the unorthodox procedure used by the officer. I just read the NHTSA Strategies for Motorcycle stops. The entire manual is concerned with the safety of the rider and officer.

It’s clear to a lay person that using an SUV as a roadblock with 3 seconds warning is going to result in a serious crash. (To be clear, in ideal conditions, a motorcycle at 100 MPH is going to take a minimum of 6 seconds to stop). This should be more than obvious to a trained police officer.

Would it be OK if the officer simply shot him as he was driving by?

I know how hard it is to be a cop. Even in Shrewsbury they’re dealing with the H addicts and whores and shoplifters, etc. But you can’t go running motorcyclists over because they’re speeding. That’s fucking Judge Dredd style shit.

I fully agree that the main cause of this accident is this buttnut’s failure to stop, evade the police, and drive at dangerous speeds.

Unfortunately, the officer blocking a two lane road with his turret lights off until seconds before impact is going to play into this guys favor.

I hope the judge sees it as a very small percentage contributing to this “accident”, but I see this settling and he’ll get a nice pay day because it will be cheaper than paying the lawyers.

Wouldn’t touch that bad boy mole with a ten foot surgical scalpel.

The motorcycle definitely cost this guy more than removing the mole would have and didn’t do nearly as much for his self esteem. 100k in medical bills and they couldn’t take that thing off as a courtesy. That’s just wrong.

Obviously, this Chudmuffin was riding one of those horrible crotch rocket, mostly made of plastic, jap bikes. Chuds who run from the law are rarely the real bikers who ride bikes made with steel and chrome. I hope at least he lost his right to drive. At least a couple end up killing themselves with these ultra-fast crotch rockets every summer, epic stupidity.

*As a side note to Turtleboy, bikers who rev their engines at red lights do so to keep the rpms up, it makes for quicker take offs at red lights and keeps us/them from getting ass-ended by impatient cars behind us who don’t realize that we are dealing with a clutch/gas situation. Also useful on small hills at red lights so the bike doesn’t roll backwards into the moron who thinks they need to be two inches off the rear tire of the bike. It has zero to do with the size of our genitals, and everything to do with being seen, heard and moving within traffic safely. “I’m sorry officer, I didn’t see the bike,” comes out of mouths often enough, that pipes need to be a little bit louder than factory, for the same reason that cops use sirens.

I hope your car isn’t a standard. It sounds like some biker chics are as bad at operating motorcycles as they are at driving cars.

it’s real simple don’t run away from the cops-like that guy down in SC that got shot in the back-willing to bet you the cop said “halt or i’ll shoot” but nooooo,he booked it even harder-you can’t outrun a bullet! now the cop is doing time & i think it’s racial, and it’s wrong

It wouldn’t matter to assholes like this and their attorneys what caused the crash. If he had crashed in a ditch, they’d still sue. How they allow someone’s moronic actions to be projected onto another party in court is beyond logic.

I know I was speeding and eluding judge, but:
If the motorcycle company didn’t make them go so fast, I wouldn’t have done it
If the cop hadn’t chased me, I wouldn’t have done it
If my parents had really loved me, I wouldn’t have done it

He deserves nothing but the lasting memory that he fucked himself up by being stupid
