Not one person in this country voted for Donald Trump because the Russians convinced them to.

I just wanna take a moment to talk about Russian hackers, since that’s all the rage lately from people who can’t accept reality:
This is the saddest, most desperate thing I’ve ever seen. They’re doing exactly what they criticized President-Elect Trump of doing throughout the entire campaign – not accepting the results of a fair and democratic election. First they whined about the popular vote. Then they forced recounts that ended up giving Trump even more votes. Now they’re trying to keep the electoral college from doing its job on December 19 because they want us to believe that the Russians hacked the election.
Newsflash – not one person in this entire country voted for Donald Trump because the Russians told them to. Not one. People voted for him because his opponent was Hillary freaking Clinton. Someone who ran an awful campaign that centered on bullshit identity politics, instead of talking about the only thing people in rust belt states care about – jobs. People got sick of hearing about how racist, and misogynistic, and xenophobic Trump was. We get it. But if you’re not telling Americans how you’re gonna make life better for them, they’re not gonna show up and vote for you. We don’t need the Russians to make Hillary Clinton seem unlikeable.
Do the Russians want Trump? Clearly. The same way the Saudis wanted Hillary, which is why they gave so much to the Clinton Foundation. But what exactly are we suggesting they did? Hacked some emails and showed the country things the Clinton campaign was saying that made them look bad? I’m not a computer genius by any means, but don’t you think using an unsecured server in a foreign country might’ve possibly contributed to that? Just sayin.
Look, this election ultimately came down to three states – PA, WI, and MI. Trump won all of them by narrow margins. So what is being alleged here is that the hundreds of thousands of people who voted for Obama in those three states in 2012, switched their vote to Trump in 2016 because the things revealed in the Russian hacks made Hillary look bad. Without those hacks these mindless lemmings (because that’s what you’d have to assume they are if this is what decided their vote) would have voted for her. So basically the politicians who are fighting this are calling these voters morons.
Granted, the Russians were very selective in the shit they hacked. I’m sure there’s PLENTY of juicy, scandalous emails going around from Republicans that they chose to ignore. But it is what it is, and it’s certainly not Trump’s fault that a foreign government chose to do this. Here’s an idea – let’s focus on stopping them from doing this in the future. Just a thought.
And on what planet am I living where the messenger gets blamed in a situation like that?
Here’s an idea – stop doing shady shit and putting it on the Internet. Assume everything you write on a computer will be traced back to you. Because it will. Grownups understand that, but since we’re dealing with a bunch of pussies wearing safety pins it’s clear that we’re not dealing with grownups. We’re dealing with children like Uncle Jimmy McGovern who want to further divide us by casting doubt on the legitimacy of this election. The same exact shit they said was so dangerous just two months ago. And it’s working with the sheep:
Look, I’m not so naive to believe that Trump wouldn’t be saying the same exact shit if he lost. Because he would. He’s a big baby too. But I just find it hilarious that these are the same exact people who acted like the world was gonna blow up if Trump followed through on his promise to not accept the election results unless he won. And now they’re doing the same exact thing.
