Last month we praised the 44 state representatives and 9 state senators who voted against a 40% pay raise  for themselves. The pay raise was vetoed by Governor Baker, but was then over ridden by the pigs at the trough who sit on taxpayer funded seats Beacon Hill – 116-44 in the house, and 31-9 in the senate.

But these people only deserve praise if they didn’t accept the raise. After all, you’d have to be a pretty lumpy bag of flaccid penises to accept a pay raise that you voted against. But apparently Representative Paul Frost, and every single other person except for one who voted no, is still gonna take the dough:

Three times Rep. Paul Frost, R-Auburn, voted against the recent hefty pay raise for legislative leaders. But now that the measure has passed, Mr. Frost plans to accept the salary hike. Mr. Frost is one of the 12 of 13 House Republican leaders who are taking the pay raise they voted against. The only House Republican to turn down the increase is Angelo D’Emilia of Bridgewater. He will see the stipend he receives as third assistant minority leader increase from $15,000 to $35,000. That is on top of a lawmaker’s base salary of $62,547.

“It’s the law,” said the 11-term GOP legislator, whose district includes Auburn, Millbury and parts of Charlton and Oxford. “I objected … to these pay raises. I can refuse the raise. But that money doesn’t go back to the General Fund. That money goes back to the care, custody and control of the speaker of the House” – Robert DeLeo, a Winthrop Democrat – “to spend however he sees fit. Why should I do that?

“Giving that money back to the speaker to use however he wants … just empowers him to have more money for him to play with (rather than) for me to use to help my family and use in my district as I see fit,” Mr. Frost said.

What a bunch of swindlers. Do they think we’re dumb? The people who voted no but took the dough are worse than the people who voted yes. At least they were up front and honest about being crooks. These dooshnozzles voted no because the KNEW the bill was gonna pass anyway, and then they could look good AND cash in at the same time. Can’t tell you how disappointed we are in Donnie Berthiaume, Peter Durant, Kate Campanale, Kim Ferguson, and the 40 other representatives not named Angelo D’Emilia for treating us like we’re stupid. Like we wouldn’t follow up on this story.

But yea, shout out to Big Angelo D for keeping it real.

Never heard of that guy before. He’s my new favorite politician ever though.

And how bout Paul Frost’s reasoning?

“I don’t believe that I should receive less pay than somebody else who voted for the bill,” he said. “So they get the bonus but I’m not allowed to get that bonus because I took the right vote? No, I don’t agree with that. I did the right thing three times, as opposed to a person who did the wrong thing three times, yet I should be devalued in my work or in my position to my Democrat counterpart? I don’t think that’s fair to my family and to the district as a whole.”

Wait….what? So you accepted the pay raise because you’re basically admitting that you’re not better than the democrats who just spit in the face of the taxpayers?

Newsflash – you didn’t “do the right thing three times.” You voted no three times because you knew you were getting the raise anyway and wanted to look good for the cameras. You’re a crook. Nothing more, nothing less.

Or check out the excuse making from North Attleborough Representative Betty Poirier, who voted no and took the dough:

“Besides, Democratic leaders got pay raises, so Republicans should too. I don’t want to feel like I’m a second class citizens to my colleagues on the other side of the aisle.”

Screen Shot 2017-03-08 at 3.35.47 PM

This is a joke right? They did the wrong thing so I have to do the wrong thing too? Because if I don’t go against my convictions then I’m gonna be wicked jeally of the pigs at the trough across the aisle from me?

Look, I don’t care where that money ends up. That’s all just a bunch of bullshit excuses. If you have any principals whatsoever you don’t accept it. The general public doesn’t give a shit about your excuses about the money coming from this account or that account. All we care about is the perception. And when you vote against a pay raise, and then you accept it, we all perceive that you’re an assbag.

Believe it or not, you can vote against the bill and NOT accept the money. Just ask Charlie Baker, Karyn Polito, every single Republican in the State Senate, and democrat Anne Gobi. They all turned it down. On a local level in Worcester, Councilor Gaffney voted against the pay raise and declined it. Because that’s what you do when you have convictions and you stand for something.

yet no one runs against the majority of these bottom feeders and then complains about them getting a raise, and never holds them accountable. Wonder why they get away with shit like this. Them and Kalifornia, giving themselves everything they could ever want and need.

Unless you have a ton of money to campaign with…… They make it almost impossible to run without money otherwise you would probably see more people trying.

I don’t even know what to say…… This comment made me madder than a unick at an orgy “I don’t want to feel like I’m a second class citizens” so bitch are you calling us “second class citizens”? If so you can come join us so you feel how bad the dildo of government feels when it is dry fucking us in the ass. ANYONE who voted “NO” and TOOK the raise are all GIANT PIECES OF SHIT and we should NOT VOTE for them again UNLESS they give the ENTIRE raise to ANY CHARITY or even the LOCAL SCHOOL DISTRICTS so our kids can get a better education. I know when I was in school we DIDN’T have to supply school supplies to the school at the beginning of they year. Now we get lists that is HALF of a fuckin STAPLES store……. SMH Do you know why sharks don’t eat politicians? Professional courtesy.

I know Paul and this is not a good look for him. Was always proud I didn’t have a typical Democrat hack as a state Representative. He makes crap as a lowly Republican rep. but that is no excuse. He’s no better than the scumbag Dems now.

Gonna have to have a talk with that boy.

Poorly drawn conclusion. I believe in principle that people with kids should pay higher taxes because they consume more public resources but that doesn’t keep me from claiming mine. If a one percenter like Charlie Baker forgoes a salary that’s hardly the same thing as a part time state rep doing the same.

So should people that have had fires at their house and had the fire department respond get a bill or pay more taxes than those who have never needed the fire dept? Should people who don’t drive or own a car get a tax break because they don’t use the roads? See where that “no kids” nonsense goes?

Should someone who is less of a burden on society pay more in taxes? I would be fine with kids not being part of the equation at all but children shouldn’t be a financial incentive be it to receive more benefits, lower taxes, or to battle over the deduction in court.

Speedballs are the shit man!!! Greatest high ever. The crash sorta sucks so like Tom Petty says….It’s good to get high and never come down, it’s good to be king of your own little town. Disclaimer: I do not endorse speedballs as one of the side effects is your heart stopping.

Someone once explained to me the difference between republicans & democrats. Republicans will walk right up to you, kick you in the balls and tell you they’re screwing you. Democrats will cozy up, pat you on the back…while they’re screwing you. Moral to the story: they’re both screwing you, just depends whose style you like more.

Donating 100% of the raise to local foundations/organizations would be a suitable alternative in my book. Will be contributing to Angelo’s campaign—hope others do too.

  • Woodiculous
    March 8, 2017 at 4:01 pm

Or they could donate all of what they get to a charity in their district. That I would greatly respect. It is certainly better than giving it back to the the party leaders that concocted the pay grab in the first place.

      March 9, 2017 at 3:07 pm

I wish I could ask for their tax returns to see if they donated their balance of the raise to charity, but unfortunately in a one-party state there’s not much you can do when both parties have controlled both chambers of the Legislature since 1958. If you primary an R in Mass the D will win, so we (unfortunately) have to cut the R’s some slack. If you don’t like Charlie Baker and are unenrolled maybe you should run for Gov. as an independent.
