In 2014 the Turtleboy crew went to Brooklyn for the Atlantic 10 Tournament. UMass was about to make the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1998, and they were playing George Washington in the quarterfinals on a Friday night. They lost the game of course, because Derek Kellogg is a horrible coach. But he’s also got 12-14 coaches who wear suits to these games and seemingly do nothing.

At one point in the game one of the Turtleboy’s yelled something to the extent of, “How are we losing this game with so many coaches?” Normally Division 1 coaches do not respond to fan heckling because they’re supposed to be above it. Plus, this was pretty harmless. But strength and conditioning coach Richard Hogans turned to us and started getting lippy. You could tell he couldn’t WAIT until the game was over so he could walk over to us and confront us about the fact that we weren’t yelling nice things about the crappy product on the floor. And that’s exactly what he did – confronted us before finally being dragged away by former UMass star and current coach Loe Roe:

What a meathead this guy is. Notice the team is all shaking hands as the game literally just ended. But instead of shaking hands with the other team, Hogan comes over to get into a fight with some fans. Notice he’s rolling up his sleeves and Lou Roe is looking at him like, “what the fuck is this mother fucker doing?”

He literally could not believe that we thought a team where coaches outnumbered players should at least make the semi-finals against a mediocre program like GW.

He wasn’t going anywhere, so Lou had to come over and whisk him away before he snuffed someone:

Screen Shot 2017-03-12 at 11.48.48 PM

But he had to let Lou Roe know that he was in fact a bad ass on the way out.

Well, according to research done by a UMass blog called UMassfan.com, both of those coaches are at the center of a serious scandal involving domestic violence, kidnapping, and civil rights violations. They dug up these court documents:

This is the plaintiff:

Ayanna Hickman-Gibson. She is originally from Georgia, and seems to be divorced from her ex-husband Tyrone Gibson. Not sure why she moved to Amherst and started dating Lou Roe, but she evidently got a job at Amherst Regional High School as the girl’s track coach. In 2014 she was named by Masslive as the Western MA Indoor Track and Field coach of the year. That same year her and Roe had a baby registry on The Bump.

Lou Roe is at the center of this lawsuit, and one of the greatest players in UMass history.

Hogans is the meathead coach who came after Turtleboy. Shyrone Chatman is the assistant coach for UMass basketball, and Kellogg is the now fired head coach.

Chatman_2_

Those are the 4 defendants in this lawsuit. Here’s the allegations. Key word being “allegations.”

Screen Shot 2017-03-12 at 10.42.44 PMScreen Shot 2017-03-12 at 10.43.33 PMScreen Shot 2017-03-12 at 10.43.43 PM

Alright, let’s stop right there. There’s no police report to go along with any of the allegations of domestic abuse. I’m not saying it didn’t happen, because many battered women don’t come forward or are hesitant to report their abusers. However, this is also the United States of America, and we’re presumed to be innocent. So without any evidence, how can anyone assume he automatically did that to her?

So she goes to a UMass game (this was 2013-14 and the year they made the tournament after starting off 10-0), and Chatman and Roe are sitting in this windowless, shady sounding office where no one can hear you scream. Lou Roe starts raising his voice, she wants to leave with the kid, but Chatman won’t let her and physically blocks the door to prevent her from leaving. If only these UMass coaches could teach Cady Lalane and Tyler Bergantino to box out like that.

Chatman then says that they need to discuss how she needs to shut her mouth about alleged pillow talk that Lou Roe told her about UMass players beating women and doing drugs. Finally Chatman’s girlfriend shows up and gets the kid out of the room. Again, her version of the story only.

Here’s what allegedly happened next:

Screen Shot 2017-03-12 at 10.44.00 PM

Alright, now it’s getting interesting. The meathead coach who tried fighting Turtleboy comes into the room for intimidation purposes to cover up these Dallas Cowboy-style sex, drugs, and domestic violence scandals. As a result of this tense incident, Kellogg then calls a coaches meeting and explicitly tells them that they are to cover up what happened.

Here’s my question – how does she know this? Was she invited to the meeting? Was there more pillow talk after this bad breakup? Or is she just looking for an easy pay day? It’s obviously in the school’s best interest to just settle this before it comes out. But clearly that’s not gonna happen.

And the rest:

First of all, this sort of shit is supposed to happen at schools that are really, really good at sports. They take nudnik athletes who have no business being in college and put up with their random crime sprees and failing grades because they can run fast and jump high. Joe Mixon style. But we pretty much suck at UMass. If you’re covering up shit like this and you’re still losing to Duquense, that’s the definition of rock bottom.

Anyway, there’s almost no evidence this actually happened. I don’t know Lou Roe personally. He could be a great guy, but he could be a scumbag. No clue. But I do know how Google works, and I was able to find some stuff up about Ayanna Haskins and her past. For starters, she’s been the plaintiff in domestic abuse cases before against her previous husband, Tyrone Gibson. She’s also been the defendant in a “modification” case against a guy named Darin Habersham:

Screen Shot 2017-03-12 at 10.56.39 PM

Not sure what the latter means, but the fact that she’s been the plaintiff in a domestic violence case against her wealthy and successful ex-husband (he’s an investment broker for Charles Schwab) is certainly a red flag for Turtleboy. Because she’s seeking $75,000 in this case. And she did it to her ex-husband too. This is a pattern.

Ayanna Hickman-Gibson can also be found on mugshots.com:

Once again, don’t know any of the details involving her arrests. But it would NOT prohibit her from getting a job at Amherst Regional High School. That’s because a CORI check only checks your criminal background in Massachusetts. I know, it’s crazy. But you can pretty much commit a crime in any state, cross state lines, and get a job at another school.

Ayanna Hickman’s Facebook page doesn’t have much to it. Just her profile picture and two posts. This one was made on the day after Derek Kellogg was fired:

OK…….

She also posted this in January of 2015:

Yup, she seems stable.

So yea, this will eventually all come out in court but you all come to Turtleboy for hot takes. And gun to my head, I don’t believe her. And Turtleboy is the kind of guy who usually gives the victim the benefit of the doubt. The bottom line is this chick has been arrested before, she posts semi-crazy people talk on Facebook, and she’s sued her ex’s in civil court over domestic violence allegations after break ups before. It would seem to be consistent with her previous behavior if this story is embellished. At the same time, Turtleboy knows from personal experience that aggressive meathead behavior on behalf of the honor of UMass basketball is right out of the Richard Hogans playbook. So I could totally picture this guy keeping her locked in a room against her will, and telling feeding her the same company line he fed Turtleboy – “we’re supposed to be on the same team.”

As for Kellogg, if any of this is true it completely destroys the narrative that he was a bad coach but a good guy. For me there just isn’t enough evidence to confirm that though. I think Derek Kellogg is not a smart person, but I find it pretty hard to believe he orchestrated a conspiracy to cover up a serious crime like this. We’ll see what happens. For now it’s up to the court of Internet appeals to decide.

Allegedly was not used enough in this character assassinating article which violates some serious First Amendment Rights… Not only did Lou Roe (owner, founder and coach of Hoop Nerds) beat Hickman and nearly killed their baby. Roe’s abusive history is traceable back to his first ex-wife [Sandra Naji], who resides in Mays Landing, NJ. Police have photos of Ms. Hickman’s badly beaten body and the property damage from when Lou Roe body slammed the 16 year old son through a wall. Roe was ban from the couple residence by the court after it was discovered, “Roe was plying a minor child with alcohol for inappropriately touching”. Even his other “baby momma” [Jessica McPike] in Tallahassee, Florida questioned Roe’s actions around her minor children. Roe’s current legal 2nd wife’s [Lyvanna Saetti] age of consent and immigration status were called into question.
Sounds like Turtleboy supports pedophiles, women beaters, and deadbeat dads!?
That leads us to Shyrone Chapman. Chapman’s children were removed from the home after he beat his then girl, who Chapman accused of “sleeping with Roe”. The girlfriend and Chapman ended up in a violent knife swinging altercation where someone was stabbed! The girlfriend is the same woman who showed up in the coaches office at UMass. All this madness and numerous other incidents silenced by Derek Kellogg and “The Brotherhood”. In best ever Oprah Winfrey free-give-away voice, You get a cover-up! And you get a cover-up! Yes, you and you and you get a cover-up! Cover-ups for everybody!
It’s evident you didn’t research much; however, word has it from Roe’s camp Turtleboy was asked to run a slanderous and defamatory article as a favor.
Tyrone “Ty” Gibson Jr. is an investment broker with Charles Schwab; although not wealthy, does have a wealth of verifiable domestic violence charges from numerous women in Nevada, California, and Georgia, felony stalking, a history of drug [cocaine], alcohol, psychiatric [Dr. Todd Antin, M.D.] rehab centers plus lists of STDs he’s been passing around since the mid-2000’s (the medical records from Emory Clinic speak for themselves and so did his ex-wife Tracy Neely-Gibson) and declared “an unfit parent” by the courts.
“Measure twice cut once”. Get both sides before posting any malicious allegations. None of this report came from Hickman; sounds like the attorneys at Green, Miles, Lipton and Associates created the narrative.

I heard stories about “Coach Cal’s Criminals” in the ’90’s — lots of domestic violence, other stuff. Having a meeting to cover something up is such a UMass thing to do.

From the looks of that one mugshot, I’d say she’s a spitter. Now I’m of the opinion that if you spit on the cops while in custody you don’t get a mask…you get your teeth knocked down your throat instead. And then you have to pay for the cop’s dry cleaning bill. Let’s see how many SJWs get butthurt over that statement.
