If you’re looking to buy a good car, you probably don’t want to go to Midway Auto located in Abington:

Now, at first I was hesitant to write about this place. Sometimes people go on a rant about a business, their accusations turn out to be false, then a small business is ruined, and that is unacceptable. However, in this case, there were si many similar stories, I could not ignore it.

What do you do when someone has screwed you over? Be like this guy:

This guy, one of my favorites on the internet, knows what he’s talking about. Turtleboy get’s shit done!

Anyhow, the follow up comments on the original post are amazing. I’m shocked that any business with this many negative reviews can still be successful. I’m not saying all car salesmen are crooks, but there are some really shady dealerships that don’t care about the product they put out. I think it’s a shame that not only are they selling shitty cars, they are allegedly stealing deposits as well.

This is the kind of place that is one stop shopping. Looking for a beat up car that won’t last more than 6 months? No problem! No credit? No problem! Want some cocaine? No Problem!

According to a post on Masscops (taken from an article written on The Patriot Ledger in 2007):

ABINGTON— You could buy more than cars at Midway Motors, police said after making the second drug bust in as many years at the Brockton Avenue used-car business.

Holy shit, the SECOND drug bust? You know what they say, If at first you don’t succeed… Continue to sell cocaine out of your business regardless of possible jail time.

The arrest of Midway Motors’ finance manager, Duane Glenn, 47, of Kingston, was one of three weekend drug arrests in town, Police Chief David Majenski said Monday.

Glenn was arrested Saturday afternoon after selling cocaine to an undercover investigator, according to Majenski. It was the fourth time in September that police bought cocaine from Glenn, the chief said.

Wait, what? So the business was busted twice for selling cocaine, and the “finance manager” or aka the “silent partner” was busted for selling cocaine four times? I’m definitely going to give up my career and start selling booger sugar; obviously there are no repercussions.

In unrelated activity, police made two other drug arrests on Brockton Avenue, one on Saturday while setting up surveillance near Midway Motors and the other on Sunday.

While local police are making progress in the war on drugs, Majenski said, he is especially concerned about the repeat activity at Midway Motors.

The sales were made in the back of the building after investigators called Glenn to arrange the purchases, he said.

“(Glenn) had more cocaine inside his coat in the office at Midway,” Majenski said.

“His pay stub was also in that jacket. In the office, powdered cocaine was laid out inside a credenza along with other drug paraphernalia,” Majenski said.

Oh great, I would love to purchase a car and stumble upon cocaine just chillin’ inside the good old glove box.

In all, police seized more than a pound of cocaine from Glenn, the chief said.

I carry a pound of cocaine around all of the time, no problem.

According to the chief, Glenn’s office is an open space, not separated by a door, and police spoke to the business owner, Michael Devaney.

Devaney has not been charged. He declined to comment when reached at the dealership Monday night.

Of course he declined to comment! He doesn’t have to say shit because no one is going to do anything about it.

Police arrested another Midway Motors employee two years ago and charged him with conspiracy to violate the Controlled Substance Act and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
In that incident, police said they found two bags of marijuana in the employee’s SUV at Midway and alleged he was a supplier for an employee of a nearby business who was also charged in that case.

“To me, it shows a disturbing pattern of behavior,” the chief said.

Meh, it’s weed. I won’t shit on that.

The Abington town manager, contacted to discuss what might now happen to Midway’s business license, was not available Monday.

Oh course not!! They never made a comment or looked into removing this business license, obviously since they are still alive and running, or cutting…cocaine, tomatoe-tomato. This business needs to have their license removed. The only way for that to happen is for people who have been scammed by this business to follow my directions at the end of this blog.

Glenn, of 8 Ocean Hill Drive, Kingston, was charged with trafficking in cocaine and four counts of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute.

Yet, he’s still out and about selling lemons and allegedly stealing hard earned cash from unsuspecting customers.

With the internet and all of it’s glory fully available to anyone with a connection, I’m wondering why so many people have been screwed over by this business. One quick search on google shows they have a history of illegal behavior. I’m reluctant to place blame on the consumer, however, let this be a learning lesson for anyone looking to make a serious purchase like buying a vehicle. This isn’t something you can return with receipt (well, unless it falls under the lemon law), so one needs to take serious precautions when making a long term investment like this.

I have tried searching for Midway Automotive on BBB, but of course they don’t exist. Thus, I’m going to urge that anyone who has ever had the disservice of being scammed by this business to file a consumer complaint. The Attorney General’s office has formed a Consumer Advocacy & Response Division (CARD). I believe it was implemented in 2016. It’s sole purpose is to provide help, information, and guidance to consumers who have complaints against businesses like Midway Automotive. If you want to file a consumer complaint, click HERE. Nothing will happen to Midway Automotive if people don’t take the proper and necessary action to bring to light their alleged shady dealings.

They also have a Facebook, click here, it has some horrible reviews!

Last but not least, I called Midway for comment and got no response, I was hung up on. Oh well, life goes on!

We urge you to support the Turtleboy Sponsors by doing business with them. Without them none of this is possible. Click on any of them to check out their sites or Facebook pages.

Sad that the name of Midway Auto has sunk to this. I remember (looong time ago) when this was a good honest business (ok, it was the 60s / 70s). Original owner (Phil) was a standup guy. My dad worked there when I was a kid. Honest shop.
    Now it’s just a scam joint….

“His pay stub was also in that jacket. In the office, powdered cocaine was laid out inside a credenza along with other drug paraphernalia,” Majenski said.

Oh great, they keep their cocaine inside of a car that’s on the lot. I would love to purchase a car and stumble upon cocaine just chillin’ inside the good old glove box.

Hate to be the English teacher, but the mistake above was just too funny to ignore. A credenza is a piece of furniture, like a sideboard or a low cupboard. It is not a car, and even if you mistook it for a Kia Cadenza, the story said it was in the office.

Trying too hard to intentionally write something funny or clever usually backfires. JS

Mirror Mirror I said the same thing! I’m like a credenza is not a car… they get that right? Haha glad someone else caught that.
