Last year we wrote about this skagbag from Springfield who was going to jail for paralyzing an Agawam teenager while she was driving drunk, and claimed she didn’t need prison.

Well this poor kid is back in the news, and this time his problem isn’t some lurchbeast from Springfield. This time the problem is with his old man, who he is suing for spending all the money that was meant for his recovery:

A teenager who was paralyzed after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Agawam is suing his father for allegedly blowing through money raised for the teen’s recovery. The civil suit pits Alex Scafuri, now 18, against his father and stepmother, Christopher and Jennifer Scafuri, as well as two other defendants. The complaint, filed in Hampden Superior Court, demands a jury trial and is seeking financial damages for an amount to be determined.  The lawsuit claims well over $100,000 was raised at charitable events and through an online fundraising site.

The driver, Jomaris Colon of Springfield, testified during criminal proceedings that she had no memory of the crash. In August 2016, a Hampden Superior Court judge sentenced her to up to four years in state prison after she pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of alcohol and causing serious bodily injury to Scafuri, then 16, who was paralyzed from the chest down. In September 2016, two months before Scafuri’s 18th birthday, a legal demand was sent to Christopher Scafuri and co-defendant Dawn Violette for an accounting of how much money remained in the fundraising accounts established on Alex’s behalf, including proceeds from an event at a local social club and a fundraiser conducted through the online site GoFundMe.

Neither Scafuri nor Violette gave an accounting of the funds, according to Dennis P. Powers, the attorney representing Alex Scafuri. Scafuri was told by the various defendants that one fundraiser had collected between $60,000 and $120,000, while the GoFundMe account had raised around $50,000, according to the lawsuit. Using these estimates, that means anywhere from $110,000 to $170,000 was raised for Alex, whose father maintains that the total was closer to the smaller amount.

In June 2015, Christopher Scafuri told his son that he had to use around $37,000 to improve his property to make it handicapped-accessible. The father told his son that he had also been using the money “for daily living expenses for his family,” including bills and mortgage payments, and had put aside around $40,000 in his safe, the complaint alleges. In August 2016, when Alex was still a minor, he was removed from his father’s Agawam home by the state Division of Children and Families “due to allegations of neglect,” the complaint states. The next month, Alex was told by his father that there was only around $11,000 left in his account, according to the lawsuit, which alleges Christopher Scafuri had a fiduciary obligation to manage his son’s funds and had “breached that duty” by using money “for his own benefit.”

Now let me start by saying, I went into this thinking “What kind of assfiddle steals fundraising money from his own kid who was paralyzed by a drunk driver not even two years ago?” But after falling into the rabbit hole that is Facebook, there is much more to the story than we are reading on Masslive – who would have guessed!

So, let’s break this down. Alex Scafuri, who was 16 at the time and an avid skateboarder, was hit by a drunk driver in 2015 and was paralyzed. Some of his family members started raising money for his recovery soon after. In August of 2016, the thundercunt that plowed Alex down, Jomaris Colon, was sentenced to prison. At her sentencing Alex’s father, Chris, made a very teary-eyed victim impact statement explaining all the downfalls his son had to experience because his paralysis and basically explained how shit-filled life had become for his son.

During the time between the incident and the sentencing, Chris used donated money from various funds to make his home handicap-accessible for his son who was living under his roof. Alex was just being a typical teenager, you know, inviting his girlfriend to squat in his dad’s home, smoking pot all day long, friends in and out of the house. And getting mad at Chris for having a set of house rules for his son. So Alex decided to pull the “I’m running away and I’m never coming back” card. Only he’s telling his lawyer, the media and the judge that DCF removed him for neglect, but he’s telling everyone else his dad gave him the good ol’ sparta-kick. So which is it?

This is where things get weird for me. There’s something sketchy about this him posting a screenshot of a conversation where he clearly deleted his own responses. He pretty much solidified the fact that he moved out on his own accord.

And he basically admits it here:

Because being locked out of your house is the same thing as being removed by DCF for reasons of neglect? OK.

By now, he’s done a fantastic job of dragging his own father’s name through the muck. He’s got all of Western Mass rooting for him and sending out karmic death wishes to his own father:

Because in no way, shape or form could you ever be in a wheelchair and still be capable of lying.

I feel bad for Chris. He seems like a guy that tried to do things the right way. If this meme says anything about him, I’d say he was trying to raise his kid right:

Look, there’s no doubt this kid got the shit end of the stick, and we wouldn’t wish that on anyone. But that doesn’t give him the right to act like an entitled shitbag to the people who are helping him out the most. If by “using money for your own benefit” means building a handicap ramp on your house, having a special tub installed to accommodate wheelchairs and buying a van large enough for transporting your disabled son around, then fuck, I hope I never win the lottery because all of that shit would be useless to me.

I could be reading this whole thing wrong, but I’m not the only one who finds his story and his sudden appearance back in the media to be strange:

And you won’t guess who is representing Alex in court… Attorney Dennis P. Powers.

Not to be confused with Dennis J. Powers – the lawyer who got the charges dropped for that jiizz-inhaling cunt muffin, Princeza Aponte.

And if you don’t remember her, she’s the legendary lap dance sponge who  that whores herself for money and kicks cops while she’s not selling heroin.

So yea, the bottom line is, this kid has lawyered up with a guy who represents shitheads for a living and gets them paid. Kind of a shitty thing to do to your Dad. I know the headline Masslive put out was supposed to make the reader automatically assume the Dad was a fucknuckle, but the reality is that he didn’t really do anything wrong and sacrificed a lot for his kid. I’ll never blame this kid for anything since I can only imagine the psychological trauma he’s been through, but I will blame the MSM for not making it clear that the Dad isn’t the bad guy that they’re portraying him to be.

Lol you all have this so wrong and it’s funny. Try knowing what’s actually going on and knowing them and maybe you would change your mind about the dad and how he is a shit bag. Oh and yes Alex did leave the house because his father actually gave up on him stopped doing things for him. Wouldn’t you get frustrated when ur father won’t let any friends over and hand out cuz the father has all his thug buddies over. Any way what’s Alex gonna do just hop up and go out to his friends house NOOO he is in a motorized wheel chair all husband friends had to see him and his girlfriend was there to take care of him cuz his father wasn’t dumbasses she wasn’t squaring she was caring and loving her boyfriend who’s father is useless wow it’s amazing what you all think u know and comment on what you don’t know use your head. Turtle boy got all this info off of Facebook which hello is people posting shit that is lies all the time cmon. That whole family has got to be living a nightmare, father included. That’s his son, he’s going to love him in the end regardless of what goes on even after this story blows over. Going after a kid sentenced to life in a wheelchair. That’s horrendous.

So, basically, the kid is a POS and is using his new disability to get sympathy. Fuck. Just wait. This kid’s going to have a long, awful life ahead of him — and we’ll likely hear about it all. I get that he’s bitter because he was a normal kid before and now he probably can’t even jerk off if he’s dead from the chest down, but shit. There’s no way Alex Scafuri is going away. This is just the beginning when you start getting that Entitlement Syndrome.

$100K doesn’t go far AT ALL when it comes to home renovation for a wheelchair.

The kid needs counseling in order to process his new life. He is going to struggle and it is not going to be easy emotionally and mentally. His friends are going to go off and do things he is not able to and it will frustrate him and cause him a lot of depression. It is tragic. I have known a few people who also had the unfortunate experience of becoming disabled as a result of drunk drivers, and also a family member who was drinking with friends and was the only one injured when the car crashed. Unfortunately for the individuals I know, there were no laws, no lawsuits and definitely no go fund me pages. He is not lucky by any means but still better off than had this occurred a few decades ago.

While he is angry at his dad and acting out. Hopefully in time he will come to realize his father just wants the best for him. He is 18 and that is not an age where maturity comes easily. He is going to have to learn how expensive life is on top of how cruel is has already been.

  • Seriously?

So a water balloon to the face is worth 600K but having the wrong kidney taken out got someone only 300K? Interesting.

I wonder if removing a kidney and then slingshoting it to their face is worth 900K or do you get bonus points for the combo?
