Dead bodies, fights and gangs oh my! You might want to reconsider your next trip to the Auburn Mall. Just sayin.
Not sure why no one in the mainstream media is talking about the gang fight that took place at the Auburn Mall on Saturday afternoon, yes you read that right this happened Saturday AFTERNOON, a GANG fight, outside of Macy’s. The first balmy 70 degree day of the year brings new meaning to the expression Sun’s out Guns out.
The Auburn Mall is certainly making a name for itself:
Auburn Mall sure is on a roll, a rollercoaster in a downward spiral. @simonmalls can now add gang activity to their Auburn Mall portfolio. Lovely. Turtleboy cannot wait to take Mrs. Turtleboy and Turtleboy Jr. shopping at this fine establishment. Can’t. Wait.
It appears that this story has remained under the radar as the T&G seems to be the only place who really reported it not sure why this is so hush-hush. See that’s how we do it here at Turtleboy. We give credit where credits due. NO WAY would we ever want to take credit for a story that originated from another news outlet. Per the Telegram “…Police said a young man was injured during a fight between rival Worcester gang members outside the Auburn Mall Saturday afternoon. Auburn Police Chief Andrew J. Sluckis Jr. said police received several calls at approximately 1:50 p.m. Saturday of a large fight outside of Macy’s at the mall.” Turns out it was just some rival Worcester gangs fighting outside of Macy’s. No big deal! Not sure about Turtle riders but Turtleboy certainly doesn’t feel like taking a Sunday sociable to the Auburn Mall these days.
Maybe @simonmalls should do a bit of rebranding and update their about us on their social media pages.
It’s safe to say that the Auburn Mall certainly isn’t “iconic luxury shopping”. “Enviable collection of the world’s most prestigious brands” ahhhh yes that is exactly what comes to mind when I walk past the Mi Amor store? “Delivering superior shopping experiences,” – they must be referring to a place to dump dead bodies. Nope more like a place where fupasloths fight in front of Santa.
There are a number of issues at the Auburn Mall but two immediate concerns are that there are no security cameras and police presence other than holidays or special events. Who needs security cameras or a police presence when you have an elite team of Segway security who are very effective at their job and are quick to respond as you can see here… at the 2:17 mark.
It took a whopping 2 minutes and 17 seconds for this Segway security to come assist this lone Auburn Police Officer. Totally acceptable!
Here’s the problem. Simons is a private multi-million dollar company so technically they can do whatever they want and they do not HAVE to hire a police or install security cameras even though there is clearly a desperate need for both.
Auburn Police Chief Andrew J. Sluckis has actively been communicating with Simon Malls in regards to the need for security cameras and a stronger police presence but they just don’t want to spend the money. Turtleboy is no rocket scientist but one would think if they cleaned up the mall that they would have more customers and make more money.
Per the Turtlegram back in December, Auburn Police Chief Sluckis communicated the need for security cameras and a stronger police presence at the Auburn Mall with Simon Malls:
“…Chief Sluckis said, I’ve discussed adding additional officers with mall management and they have stated that they don’t have funding available for that.”
I think it’s time for Simon Malls to get their shit together and take some responsibility and accountability for the activities that have been taking place at their “Iconic luxury shopping” Mall and “deliver a superior shopping experience” that the Auburn community and the Auburn Police deserve. Get some security cameras and more of a Police presence!
If you feel so inclined to voice your concerns about the recent events that have been taking place at the mall and demand that there is a need for security cameras and a police presence reach out the Auburn Mall Manager Justin Feldhouse. Even better after you reach out to Justin drop his boss a line, Mike Merrow. Let them both know that security cameras and police presence are a must have and that there number one priority should be to keep the integrity of their brand, the safety of their customers and Auburn’s finest in mind. The good news is next time a gang fight or heifer hoodrat’s decide to make the Auburn Mall their fighting ring… the Segway security will be prepared.
