We saw this article on the Facebook machine from a website called Upworthy.com. And it really is disgusting so we wanted to call it out for what it is. It’s entitled, “The harsh reality of being a black child in America, told in a 10-part comic.” Here’s the comics:

2-98968e36447d993ac61e7f76af8d0ef0

Talk about what? He’s a kid playing toys. But please, let’s pollute his brain with propaganda and hate. That seems like a great idea.

Oh good, we’re teaching kids that cops are all a bunch of big, racist white guys who bother little black children in their own neighborhoods. This seems like a great way to foster trust with the police and improve racial relations in America. Nice going cartoon dad.

5-122bcc18d7ca0b7f555f705874893faf

Don’t talk back to the police? Tell them the truth? Cooperate? Yea, these are things that only black children are taught. White parents tell their kids to get uppity with the fuzz, lie as much as possible, and pretend like you’re reaching for a gun. I remember when my Dad gave me the talk. It was eye opening.

See that right there? That’s everything wrong with racial relations in this country. At the beginning of the cartoon you had an innocent little boy, not thinking about skin color and completely consumed with fun, smiles, sunshine, and toys. At the end of the cartoon you have a crying boy who thinks he’s about to die. Solid parenting right there. Solid.

Here’s a perfectly rational comment someone left on Upworthy’s Facebook page:

And here’s the response it got:

LOL. So now you are privileged if you tell your kids to be respectful when dealing with the police. This is what these idiots are trying to say now. Nothing worse than white people bragging about how they’ve checked their own white privilege. They’re just trying so hard to prove that they’re one of the good ones. It’s sad and pathetic really. For more on this, here’s our Top 11 reasons white privilege isn’t real

This is OK though:

Imagine a meme that said ‘Black People” and then proceeded to mock them as crying babies. It would be taken down by Facebook in five seconds and their account would be suspended. But the reverse is OK, because of white privilege. Makes sense. I’m pretty sure the mere fact that white people can be openly mocked and generalized like this is the exact opposite of what a privilege is, but then again that’s using reason and common sense. No place for that in discourse in 2016.

She’s right. But ya know why we don’t talk about “white on white” crime. Because we don’t have people shutting down highways calling black cops racist if they kill a white person in the act of committing a crime. Ever heard of Christopher Cerivini before? He was killed by an African-American police officer while breaking into cars. He was acquitted after a jury decided it was in self-defense. But Al Sharpton didn’t capitalize on that one, and there was no movement called “white lives matter,” and no one shut down any bridges or highways because of it. But if they did, we’d probably bring up white on white crime to shut them up too.

Screen Shot 2016-03-29 at 11.15.38 AM

LOL. If you’re black, you’re guaranteed to get shot by a cop even if you are respectful. Dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. Make no doubt about it, this short haired honky:

1936441_1170704302648_7733521_n

Knows what it’s like to be a black person in America. We’ve checked out Ann McGregor’s Facebook page  pretty thoroughly. Despite the fact that she lives in Chicago, a predominantly African-American city, we can’t seem to find a single picture of her with a black person. But don’t let the fact that she intentionally segregates herself from people of color fool you – she’s down for the cause!!!

Here’s my question – did this Dad from the cartoon have “the talk” with his son about other black people in his neighborhood? Because statistically he’s a million times more likely to be killed by someone from his neighborhood than he is a cop patrolling it. It’s just insanity. The percentage of young black males who are killed by police is so small, but people think it’s some sort of epidemic because every time someone is killed in the act of breaking the law it’s turned into a racial thing. This is an issue of law and order, not race. Always has been, always will be.

Look, Turtleboy’s parents had “the talk” with him too. But I didn’t really need it. I mean, common sense and nature told me that when you talk to a cop you should be respectful, cooperate, and tell the truth. Ya know, because they have guns and badges. When you’re a little kid, cops naturally intimidate you a little bit, as they should. We should fear what police officers will do to us if we break the law. It prevents us from breaking the law.

Way to reinforce the self-fulfilling racism prophecy of Us against Them! White against Black! Good against Bad! Privileged against Oppressed! How bout say something constructive and realistic like, “Hey son, police officers are ALWAYS your friends, and they are there to help you when nobody else can or will”. “But, if you steal something that doesn’t belong to you, hurt someone, hang out with gangs, or act like a thug, you may have a negative interaction with the police”. “And if you assault the police, they will defend themselves, with potentially deadly force if needed”. That sounds more like real life; just saying!

Cartoons like this are proof that cops aren’t killing nearly enough black people.

For the record, this is the post I considered disgusting. Whether it was a liberal troll trying to make Turtle riders look bad or some disillusioned right wing nut job from a city north of here, I hope that reasonable readers would agree that the post was in poor taste.

I was a disgusted as well. With the use of President Trump and racial remarks, I smelled a rat. But whatever the origin, it is indeed disgusting.

Agreed, if they didn’t act like entitled savages that make society look terrible, they wouldn’t get shot. Part and parcel of “our strength”, ladies and gentlemen.

Ohh and maybe “Dad” should have mentioned that the black guy leading your 9 yr old buddy into the alley to shoot him in the fucking head cuz his piece of shit gang banging dad was in a rival gang. This was over a beef between the the Gangster Disciples and the Black P Stones.

No #sayhisname hashtags from the usual race baiting assholes. No attention to the kid’s crying mom for hours on end. No “Bulletproof” T-Shirts to sell. No riots. No marches. No looting. No burning CVS. 4th fucking grade and shot in the head in an alley. 9 years old. Where is BLM? Where is Sharpton? Where is Deray? Where is the race baiting tabloid writing race hustlers? NO WHERE TO BE FOUND BECAUSE IT DOESN’T FIT THE NARRATIVE.

WHERE IS THE CARTOON ARTIST WHEN THIS KID DIED??? WHERE THE FUCK WAS HIS “DAD”?

Its all a scam. Its all about $ grab. How can I make $? How can I scam some cash? Who’s pain and suffering can I make a buck off of? Do I make “bulletproof” Tshirts that are obviously a joke because we wouldnt be seeing these shirts on fat slobs if they were truly “bulletproof”. Maybe I can make bows for kids and say Im donating to a charity but i havent exactly found one yet but fuck it, buy my shit anyways.

    VOTE TRUMP. Fuck these people.

Keep you hands visible at all times
Don’t talk back or appear agitated
    Smile
    Don’t make sudden movements

Sage advice for anyone interacting with police. REGARDLESS of race.

And the second half of the cartoon where they ask the boy about vandalism. Had the VERY same thing happen on my way home from School, except it was snowballs being thrown at cars from a section of woods I normally cut through on my way home. Cops stopped me and asked if it was me, or I knew anything about it. Imagine that, stopping a kid in an all white, affluent town such as Needham, if he had partaken in such shenanigans. The horror, the racism against teenagers. Thank heavens my parents schooled me on respecting my elders and the law and how to behave. After acting respectfully and explaining it wasn’t me, no big deal.

To the Anne McGreggors of the world – White people that try to lecture white people about their white privileged and their comprehension of racism, or lack thereof, should STFU. It really is pathetic. Yes, racism exists and it sucks, but your attempt to appear hip to the cause is pretty lame and obviously self serving.

      March 29, 2016 at 5:40 pm

I made snowballs out of powdered soap from school. they were like golf balls. Threw them at cars from the woods. Got caught. Cops came. Dad did his Dad thing. Never another soap ball. Enough said.

Well, it would seem that the cartoon was lifted right out of Greenfield Massachusetts. One small difference the poor black kid in Greenfield is real and has a couple of bigots for parents.

Common sense. A dying concept. Modern DNA lacks this gene.

Check you’re white privilege bobnmic, bragging about you’re common sense, when you know full well black peoples’ position in society doesn’t allow them to have common sense. How dare you be able to see the world around you, make observations, and adjust your behavior accordingly.
