Yesterday we published this blog about a viral video from Connecticut showing a road rage incident that transpired after a psycho dude lost his mind when some lady blockaded the road so her kids could walk on the side of the road on horseback:

Our take was simple – both people are assholes and the situation should’ve been handled better. But the dude was the only one who was being vilified. Granted he was wrong for spooking the horses and getting out of his truck and calling her the magical c word. But she also blockaded a public road, escalated it by speeding up to confront him, and filmed herself while doing so. You don’t do that and get to play the victim afterwards because this dude called you a cunt.

Look, the law might give you might have the right to ride a horse on the side of the road, but it’s a stupid and outdated law. Horses belong in fenced in areas, not on roads. Roads are for cars. That’s just common sense. Oh, and sometimes I go walking in the woods and there’s horse shit everywhere. For some reason we are required by law to pick up our dog’s tiny shits, but horses get to take megadumps and just leave them there. And dogs have to be on leashes because they’re animals. But horses, which way 10 times as much, can be spooked by a snake and run wild.

Most importantly, no one has the right to block a road like she did. Did she have a permit? Was this a parade? Is she a cop? Is she protesting the latest asshole who got shot by a cop? Nope. Just a helicopter horse mom who thinks the road belongs to her hobbies.

Anyway, this blog apparently opened up a Pandora’s box in the comments section. Because low and behold horse people are a cult, and the latest group of people we have offended. Here are the Top 13 angry comments from the horse blog…..

13. THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!!

Hey, here’s an idea – don’t let kids ride on horses on a highway.

12. Come ride my horse turtlebitch.

Sorry, I’ll pass. And if Turtleboy Jr. ever asks to ride a horse I’ll probably let him ride a horse……in an enclosed and fenced in area. Like a normal person.

11. Poor people own horses too – come clean my stall.

Newsflash morons – it was a joke. We realize that not only rich people own horses. This was actually a Seinfeld reference, in which Jerry made a joke about hating anyone who owned a pony, only to find out that the elderly woman who was hosting the dinner once owned a pony in Poland.

In the blogging bizz this is commonly known as “satire.”

10. Horses have the right of way dickwad!

No, horses do not have the “right of way.” They have a right to walk on the road according to MA and CT state law. Motorists are required to give them space and go around them. We do not have to patiently sit on our asses as you mosey along the road at 4 mph.

9. What’s the hurry turtletwat?

Newsflash – riding horses is a hobby. The roads are not for hobbies. The roads are for grownup things. Like going to the grocery store, the bank, or Sweaty Betty’s. You don’t pay horse insurance, nor do you pay excise taxes for your horses. I do both of those things for the right to drive my car on the road. I have more right to it than your horse does. Beep, beep!!

8. Turtleboy is a snowflake

It’s true. Turtleboy is well known for being a SJW snowflake. Meanwhile, look who Rob’s common law girlfriend is:

It’s Meg Gaul – the snowflake from the video who was triggered because she chased down a dude and then cried when he called her a cunt.

7. He blocked her path.

Oh yea, he was the one blocking her…..

Definitely. And for the record, if some psycho horse broad tried chasing me down like that, I’d probably come to a dead stop too. I just wouldn’t get out and do what this nutjob did:

6. The Amish do it.

Fuck. The. Amish. Bunch of frauds. Are they part of this country or not? They don’t have to pay taxes but they get to clog the entire state of Pennsylvania’s taxpayer funded roads with their horses and buggies? Luckily none of them will be offended by this because they’re purposely choosing to live in the 17th century, don’t embrace technology, and don’t vaccinate their kids. In most places this would be called abuse. In PA it’s called Amish.

Seriously, is there anything more self indulgent than driving a horse and buggy on a single lane road? We get it – you’re nostalgic and cultured. Good for you. You also know a line of people who actually need to get somewhere are piling up behind you. But you’re a collector who likes nostalgia, so the rest of us can go fuck ourselves. You wanna pretend this is the Oregon Trail? Drive your horse and buggy on a rocky trail instead of a 21st century, taxpayer funded highway. Hope you get dysentery and have to fjord the Snake River.

5. The horses could’ve been spooked.

Hey, here’s an idea – don’t let your kids on an unpredictable animal that could kill them because someone honks their horn. Or just let them ride on the horses when they’re in the trails, and then when you reach the road have them get off their horses and walk them to the next trail. Nah, that makes too much sense. The rest of us should all change what we’re doing because you have a hobby.

4. She was protecting the kids.

So let me get this straight. This woman was blocking a public road allegedly because her children on horseback needed her to protect them. But yet she had no problem abandoning them to get this guys license plate? Yup, that makes sense

3. Hey turtlefuck – look at this dead horse.

Well…….that’s lovely. I’m pretty sure she meant to ask, “who were roadways built for to begin with?” Then she mentioned horses, carriages, and oxen. So despite the fact that mankind has used it’s collective brilliance to mass produce automobiles that get us from point A to point B at a much more efficient rate, we are all supposed to cater to people who purposely choose to not use modern day technology. Gotcha.

2. Kill yourself Turtleboy.

I’d love to walk into oncoming traffic but I got this crazy lady blocking both lanes of traffic.

1. Becky Hupfield – Horse Nazi

First Becky got tapped in by her girl Tanya:

WICKED pissed!!!

Even though we’ve written thousands of blogs that Becky likely has agreed with, she is no longer a fan because of our opinion on horses in road. This was where she drew the line. All the other stuff – the foul language, the guttermuppets, the hoodrat street fights – that was cool. But don’t you dare fuck with illegal horse blockades. Those are sacred:

She used to like us, but now that she disagrees with us it can only mean that Turtleboy has a small dick, drives a Hummer, is fake journalism, and should have trouble sleeping at night:

Also, go to jail:

Anyway, the bottom line is the roads belong to cars. I don’t care what the law says. It should be changed. If this lady really wanted to make sure her kids were safe then she wouldn’t let them ride on a horse that could kill them if someone honks their horn too loud.

P.S. Loved this comment too:

I have horses and have ridden on the road a million times to get to trails. Cars are required to stop before passing a horse and wait until the rider motions them to pass. I have never seen a car follow riders with flashers on. To me that’s just stupid and unsafe to begin with. If as a parent you feel that’s necessary, then you need to revalue your child riding on the road. If she hadn’t been doing that the guy probably would not have deliberately tried to spook the horses. So both are at fault.

I think the broad staged the whole incident in order to garner herself some facebook sympathy from her posse.

Funny these people care more about their right to ride a horse than the actual horse itself.
Total god damn hypocrites. It’s obviously not right if it gets so spooked by a 2 ton vehicle that it freaks out. Probably because it isn’t what a friggen horse is meant to do. So let’s take an animal that naturally wants to be running around free, saddle it up and make it our kids bitch. Then have it trot down roads with huge machines speeding by them. These self centered assholes only care about themselves.

This article, and the Crazy Canuck one, are two of the best things I’ve read ever. Some people, ya just can’t help.

    June 25, 2017 at 10:18 pm

Ok. The Gadfly grew up in Wendell for a bit and rode horses with her BFF. One was an Arab and one was a quarter horse. One was spooky (guess which ) . So WE BOTH HIGH TAILED IT TO THE WOODS. Until your horse can deal with cars, stay the FUCK off pavement, for everyone’s safety.
Dude may be a dick, but lady is a psychopath, and should never have let the kids she cares soooo much about out on a public way on horses she wasn’t 199% sure were bomb proof. That’s just irresponsible.
The gadfly also grew up into a biker bitch. And knows that not everyone has respect for rice rocket riders. But no matter whether you’re on a steel horse or a four legged one, road rage never ends well. So sit the fuck down in your saddle, cowgirl. Not sure what you are trying to prove, or to whom, but you aren’t representing well for riders of any inclination.
Ps do you even have your own bike or do you just cling on to your man’s beard like reins? Does he take a bit ok or do you have to force it into his mouth?
Don’t even want to know whether you guys go bareback. Blechhhh.

  • Poor poor me
    June 25, 2017 at 11:51 am

She left her kids behind to chase the man. She obviously wasn’t very concerned about their safety then. He had already driven by, she chose to instigate. If it where me I would have been glad he passed, I would have explained to my kids that we have to share the road with cars, bikes, etc and consider finding a different area for my children to ride, if they are at a constant risk of being injured severely by being so close to the road I would blame myself if someone beeped and spooked the horse causing my child to be injured. Think about it adults ride bikes along roads all the time does that mean kids should do it while being followed by a parent in a vehicle. What it their car wasn’t big enough to transport the bikes to the park? Does that make it ok or safe? Absolutely not, they both handled this terribly, when your kids are around you can’t react that way you have to think about what they will be taught from the way you handle the situation. She most definitely taught them to be entitled by reacting that way.

Also, there are a few tbs blogs I didn’t like or agree with, like the one where some woman called another woman a monkey it drove me nuts that they tried really really hard to prove they aren’t racist. It doesn’t mean I would stop reading this blog altogether. The best conversations are created when people disagree.

These people are fucking ridiculous! All opinions on horses being allowed on public roads aside, this woman clearly wasn’t truly concerned about her children and horses’ safety. It is apparent that “getting him” immediately took priority over protecting her minions. I think this is a clear case of entitlement and egoic vengefulness. Don’t get me wrong, this guy acted totally inappropriately and is obviously a straight up fucktwat, but she definitely antagonized him and really has no leg to stand on equine or otherwise 😉

Secondly peeps of course, TB and his “writers” are total assholes and that’s the attraction a welcomed comic break from the pc world. TB always goes too far but it wouldn’t be interesting otherwise.

The old dude and bib-boobs were both at fault, both acted like jerks. They each had multiple opportunities to let it slide and walk away. Peeps take the lesson to heart, let things go even when you’re right the other person might be a complete psycho.

If peeps left each-other alone most bad stuff would never happen, TB would have to blog on kitten videos.

We have lots of horses here in town (yuppies like to think they’re farmers), and every time I’ve seen them riding on the road, they are constantly looking back and aware of the cars around them, and pull off to the side of the road (when there’s room), and keep the horse calm as the cars go around them… that’s common courtesy and a way for people to share the road.
Now the assholes in the Lance Armstrong get up traveling down 140 to train for the Tour-de-France on the other hand, can’t be bothered… stupid morons.
Point of the story – just because you “have the right of way”, doesn’t mean that you can saunter along without a care in the world, or blockade the road because your precious kids aren’t experienced enough to ride on the road without a Dealey Plaza motorcade.

A yuppie would have a fancy F250 with a Sundowner trailer to take their horse to the trailhead. These are just your average, struggling to make the ends meet people….like the majority of horse owners. They sacrifice a lot in order to have horses in their lives. I managed a barn of 34 horses and in 10 years of doing that I only ever had 2 people that I would consider “rich”…everyone else was a mom and pop in suburbia that gave up on having nice cars and fancy clothes and dining out in order to be able to afford their horse.

These are children on horses for Christssake, and this asshole man (I use the term “man” loosely) intentionally tried to harm them because he had to slow down and that made him mad.

This mother was simply trying to ensure that traffic passed with caution. She was not blocking the entire road before the video. The man came up behind her and began tailgaiting and driving aggressively and honking even before he tried to pass her. Then after he passed her, he INTENTIONALLY tried to spook horses and harm the children which is in violation of CT law 14-293b-1 and 2,

OMG…Anyone with horses is not “…struggling to make ends meet…”, more like look at me, poor me, pity me bullshit. Horses are time consuming and very expensive. How many homeless people do you see on a corner with a sign up while sitting on a horse? How many horse owners have EBT cards because of their struggles? How many horse owners don’t have a car because cars are outside their budget? You, my fair lady, is what is known as a dipshit justifying entitled behavior…

“OMG…Anyone with horses is not “…struggling to make ends meet…”, more like look at me, poor me, pity me bullshit.”

          Amen, Executioner.

I have been a horse owner in the past. The feed, farrier, and vet bills alone totaled to many thousands of dollars per year, and I had my own stable on my property. Had I boarded my horse somewhere, “full board” could have easily run me $500+ per month, and that doesn’t include the vet and farrier bills. Farrier a couple times per year (~$75/horse/visit), having them “floated” 2x per year (~$75/horse/visit), at least 1 annual vet visit for shots and a coggins ($200+ depending on which vaccines you want).

Nobody who owns horses is “struggling to make ends meet”, and, if they are, then they certainly should not own horses, which cost a small fortune annually to maintain, because the likelihood is the horses are neglected.

yuppie does not equal rich… plenty of yuppies are in debt because they feel a need to put on certain airs, one of which around here is owning/riding horses.
My sister owned a horse… y’know where she rode him? In the corral, in the yard… never on the road. Not because she couldn’t (as you say MANY times here, the law says that she could), but because she wasn’t comfortable. If you feel that your kids aren’t able to safely ride on the road without you escorting them, and thereby blocking the road and doing so ILLEGALLY, then you need to re-evaluate how you are going to have your kids ride horses – it’s that simple.

        • Andrea
          June 25, 2017 at 9:47 pm

a lot of times, the decision to ride on the road depends a lot on what roads you have to take to get to your trails. My prior farm we walked the side of 2 lane country roads with a 25mph speed limit.

My current acreage lies on a truck route that is quite busy and very well traveled by big rigs and troups of loud motorcycles with a 50 mph speed limit. My trails are 3 miles away and I will not ride there.

I am sure your sister chose not to ride on the road because either the road wasn’t a safe one to do so, or because she knew her horse could not handle the traffic.

Most horses are easily desensitized but drivers, such as the one in this video, are assholes and idiots who take no care and there are unfortunately individuals who think they own the road and purposely try to make a horse react and a person get injured. They seek it out.

Riding your horse a couple of blocks on a 25mph country road with someone following with blinkers to keep other drivers cautious, you would expect that people would be respectful and there would be no issue.

This woman did not block the roadway until this man had already started to cause problems. That is why she blocked the roadway…..he was already acting enraged and “entitled” that he owned the road and could do whatever the hell he wanted which included speeding and honking.

When she did briefly chase him down, she did so by pulling as far away from the horses as she could. People are claiming “she cared so much she left them behind to chase him” well, we do not know what was in her rear view mirror….probably nothing. We don’t see or hear other vehicles approaching or passing. The roadway was empty except for the asshole. If no other vehicles were coming then I don’t see where her problem was.

She did try to block him to keep him from speeding past the riders. It was probably a stupid thing to do because it obviously made him angrier, but you know what? He didn’t have to stop and curse at her, he didn’t have to swerve AT the children, he didn’t have to honk AT the children, and he could very well have kept on going and there wouldn’t have been a problem.

This man has problems. This woman, was simply protecting the children.

A horse which is not “bombproof” should not be ridden on a public thruway.

Furthermore, “children” should not be placed on a horse which is not “bombproof”, and even then, should never be riding on a public thruway, but only in controlled, limited access areas

There are so many beautiful places in New England to ride horses. Why ride them on a highway? Y’know why? It’s “Look at me” “Look what I’m doing.” Entitlement at it’s finest. It’s all about being a show off. And guess what? Nobody gives a shit!!!!
C’mon out to the SW. There are horse trails galor! Deserts, mountains, outbacks.
Nobody rides a horse on a highway.

    • Andrea
      June 25, 2017 at 8:01 am

Sometimes you have to ride alongside a road for a short distance in order to get to those trails. This woman and these girls did not do anything wrong. she was following in her lane with her emergency flashers on so that traffic coming behind her would slow down before passing. This man did not. He came up behind her aggressively and was driving/acting aggressive even before the video started…..that is WHY she turned the video on.

Then after he passed her….he intentionally swerved towards the horses and honked his horn which is in violation of two traffic laws in CT…. 14-293b-1 and 14-293b-2.

HE INTENTIONALLY TRIED TO HURT CHILDREN which is why she chased him down to get his license plate.

Entitlement has nothing to do with it. Most people struggle and sacrifice a lot in order to have a horse, the elite are few and far between. Unfortunately, there is so much urban sprawl that it is getting harder and harder to find places to go riding and people are forced to ride along roadsides in order to get there.

I had a farm that shared a fenceline with a 3,000 acre preserve with horse trails. The county would not let me or anyone else put private gates on our farm to access the trails….we had to ride on the roadway to do so because the county did not want any kind of liability exposure from private entrances and they also wanted to be able to close the park at dark so everyone was forced to use the public entrance.

It is easy for people like you guys to think that it is just “elite horsepeople” but this was a mom making sure her daughter and friends were safe from idiot drivers like this man.

He deserves to be arrested, charged and fined and to take mandatory anger management classes. I hope they find him.

If you ride on a horse and choose to take that horse on a road which CARS & TRUCKS utilize and YOU KNOW HORSES SPOOK EASILY…….. well then dear lady, YOU are the dumbass. You put your own life in jeopardy, just like this lady put her kids lives in danger.

The speed limit on this road was 25, not 120.

And just an FYI, but the roads were made for horses. Asphalt is an invention that predates automated travel and was used to pave roads for horse and carriage use.

I think I just heard another mic drop.

Sorry to disappoint you, but I am a deplorable Trumpster, and I have the tee shirts, buttons and rally signs to prove it.

I also believe in “the rule of law” and the law says that horses can be ridden on the road and that people need to not try to intentionally spook them.

If she was blocking traffic then fine, let her get ticketed too, but his offence was more severe and he is still an ass for endangering the lives of children.

Just because I may disagree with YOU doesn’t give me the right to try to injure your children. Shall I grease the monkey bars on the playground? Should I tamper with their bicycle? Should I drive up on the sidewalk when they are riding their bikes there?

No. Nothing gives me the right to endanger a child, any child, simply because I am angry and want to “get even” at someone.

this is not about entitlement, it is about the rights provided to the people of CT to be able to ride on the road. It is a right and a provision granted by law.

contrary to what you may think, the overwhelming majority of horse owners are not rich, they are your everyday people that struggle to pay the bills. These are not rich people, I can tell by the horses they are riding, the saddles they are using and the way they are dressed. These are just your average people that probably make great monetary sacrifices in order to be able to ride horses.

As for riding on the roadway, this is not a highway. CT law prohibits riding horses on highways. Yes, there are lots of trails and areas to ride on , but you have to GET there and sometimes that may include a short trip down the roadway to do so. My farm that I used to own actually shared a fence with a 3,000 acre public trail system and the county would not allow any of the farms to put gates on the fence….we all HAD to ride the road in order to get in through the public entrance. It was supposedly for liability purposes according to the county.

An “Entitled” rider would have simply hitched up their sundowner trailer to their F250 superduty and hauled to the trail…..but the overwhelming majority of horse owners don’t have the money to buy a trailer or drive a big truck.

This idiot man intentionally endangered the lives of children and I hope he is arrested, prosecuted, fined and required to take anger management classes.

The WPD got horses now to chase dirt bikes pulling wheelies in Main South. No escorts behind them either.
