WEEI: Michael Bennett tweeted a statement on Wednesday in which he claims Las Vegas police used excessive force against him during an incident following the Floyd Mayweather-Conor McGregor fight on Aug. 26.

Bennett claims while people were leaving the fight, gunshots were heard and Bennett ran as everyone else did. He said police singled him out, stopped him, forced him to the ground and pointed a gun near his head threatening to “blow my [expletive> head off.”
“Terrified and confused by what was taking place, a second Officer came over and forcefully jammed his knee into my back making it difficult for me to breathe,” the Seahawks defensive end wrote. “They then cinched the handcuffs so tight that my fingers went numb.”
Bennett said he kept asking the officers “What did I do?” as they restrained him.
“The Officers’ excessive use of force was unbearable,” he continued. “I felt helpless as I lay there on the ground handcuffed facing the real-life threat of being killed. All I could think of was “I’m going to die for no other reason than I am black and my skin color is somehow a threat.’ My life flashed before my eyes as I thought of my girls. Would I ever play with them again? Or watch them have kids? Or be able to kiss my wife again and tell her I love her.”
That’s it? That’s what police brutality looks like? What an overdramatic 300 pound pussy. That’s a routine handcuffing. And for what it matters, they had a very good reason to do it:
Sources connected to the investigation tell TMZ Sports … when cops responded to the club for a possible shooting, they ordered everyone to get down and not move so they could properly search and investigate. We’re told Bennett did not stay put — instead, he ran — and a cop outside the club stopped him and ordered him down to the ground at gunpoint. Our sources say Bennett was detained until cops could determine he was not involved in any possible criminal activity … and he was released.
What a fucking fraud Michael Bennett is. Police show up after a report of gunshots fired in a dangerous city filled with booze, gambling, and prostitution. Michael Bennett himself says he heard gunshots (turns out there weren’t any). Cops get there and the gunmen hasn’t been apprehended. In order to find the shooter (if there is one) they tell everyone there to stay put so they can interview them. And what does this fat piece of shit? Runs.
Hmmmm…where have I heard that before? Oh yea, 99.9% of the police outrage videos. Here’s an idea – if you don’t wanna get shot, don’t run from the cops. Especially when the cops are responding to a report of shots fired. Ya know, because it’s kind of a dangerous and tense situation to begin with. When you’re the guy who runs when they tell you not to run, you’re no longer an innocent victim. All you had to do was sit there, answer their questions, and move on with your night. Instead you chose to run. Wicked smart.
When I saw Alex Reimer tweet this:
Trump has emboldened police officers to act like this. And Kaepernick said Trump & Hillary were equal. What a dope. https://t.co/uLrzEk1117
— Alex Reimer (@AlexReimer1) September 6, 2017
I thought we were gonna see some fucked up excessive shit. Instead all I saw was a 300 pound man crying as he was being handcuffed by a police officer who appears to be Latino. Nevertheless, Alex Reimer, who was suspended from WEEI after shamelessly attempting to blackball the producer of WEEI by threatening to reveal his alcoholism if he didn’t let him on the show more often, blamed it all on Trump for emboldening cops. Emboldening cops to do their job. Can you imagine the horror of police doing their jobs? Who would ever wanna live in a country like that where you have to obey the law and cooperate with the police when they get a call that there’s a gunmen on the loose? Talk about oppression!! Thanks Trump!!
Bennett had everyone all fired up about this today since he’s got such a large following as a Pro-Bowler and Super Bowl Champion. Naturally then the LVPD wanted to get to the bottom of it, so they released the full video from the start when the cops enter the casino, to the end when Bennett is detained. Gets intense around the 8:00 mark when the cops enter the casino, looking for what they were told was an active shooter:
As you can see when they get outside, everyone is black:
And the ONLY black person who was detained was the guy who wisely decided to run and jump over that wall – Michael Bennett. Nothing suspicious about that!!
The truth of the matter is that Michael Bennett ran because he’s itching to become a victim. It just so happens that the Seattle Seahawks defensive end is currently writing a book called, “
A cop hating, black lives matter activists gets arrested and says it was because he was black? Color me shocked.
He also recently announced that he won’t be standing for the National Anthem.
— Michael Bennett (@mosesbread72) September 5, 2017
Because we all still give a shit who sits and stands for the anthem. Sit, stand, I really don’t give a fuck. At this point if you’re still doing this then you’re only doing it for self promotion.
Let’s look at some of the lies and hyperbole Michael Bennett threw into his open letter….
“Las Vegas police officers singled me out and pointed their guns at me for doing nothing more than simply being a black man in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
No, the Las Vegas cops singled you out because you ran when they specifically told you not to run. No one else ran. Just you. Like an idiot. But way to fan the flames of hatred and throw that race card out there by telling your millions of followers that it was because you’re black. Very responsible of you.
“He placed his gun near my head and warned me that if I moved he would blow my fucking head off.”
Except in the video you can clearly see that this was a lie. Stupid facts!!
“I kept asking the officers what did I do?, and reminding them that I had rights they were duty bound to respect.”
So you’re telling me that after being apprehended by police in what they were told was an active shooting situation, this is a bad time to play 21 questions and lecture the cops about your rights? Here’s an idea Big Mike – don’t ask questions you know the answer to. You were in handcuffs because you ran from them during what both you and they believed was a time when an active shooter was on the loose. You knew that. Yet you continued to ask questions that you already knew the answer to. Poor you.
The officers’ excessive use of force was unbearable. I felt helpless as I lay there on the ground, handcuffed, facing the real-life threat of being killed. All I could think of was ‘I’m going to die for no other reason than I am black and my skin color is somehow a threat.’ My life flashed before my eyes as I thought of my girls. Would I ever play with them again? Or watch them have kids? Or be able to kiss my wife again and tell her I love her?
Excessive force? You weigh 300 pounds and one guy took you down without using a gun or a taser. He put his knee into your back, which is standard procedure, and then handcuffed you. Because you not only ran from them while they were looking for a shooter, you also jumped over a wall. Which kind of makes you suspicious. But yea, they thought you were a threat “because of your skin color.” Definitely.
“When you are seen as a nigger you will be treated that way.”
Yup, that’s what they did. The cops looked at you and said, “that man right there is a n word. Better beat the shit out of him for no reason.”
“The system failed me. I can only imagine what Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Trayvon Martin, Tamir Rice, and Charlene Lyles felt.”
I can’t believe people are still referencing Mike Brown. The hands up don’t shoot lie has been thoroughly debunked by President Obama’s Justice Department. Mike Brown died because he was trying to kill a cop who was questioning him about the store he just robbed and the Indian store owner he just assaulted. But yea, he was a victim and so are you.
The bottom line is that Michael Bennett made this whole thing up to sell a book. Because the racism-industrial complex is the most profitable industry in America. People like Michael Bennett want racism to exist so they can make money off of it. Without the illusion of rampant police brutality he wouldn’t be able to sell books to gullible followers who blindly believe his anti-police rhetoric, no matter how many lies he tells. Unfortunately for him the police take allegations of brutality seriously, and the body cameras that black lives matter wanted so bad are mostly exonerating the police while proving that people like him are opportunistic charlatans.
