Worcester Police Arrest 15 Gang Members With Arsenal Of Weapons By Doing Opposite Of Joe Petty’s Plan For Safety

The WPD collaborated with the FBI to arrest 15 gang member with an arsenal of weapons – the exact opposite of what Joe Petty has been suggesting they do for months.

The Summer of Love in Worcester was intense. There were shootings nearly every day in broad daylight. Aside from a home invasion on Flagg Street, almost all of them took place in poor neighborhoods, so people like Joe Petty didn’t do anything about it because those people aren’t going to contribute money to his campaign. It really peaked in early August when an innocent two year old and her mother were shot outside of a Plumley Village apartment. Shortly after that incident Joe Petty issued the following statement to Masslive:

He arrested over 8,000 people last year, 8,100 people — he can’t arrest any more,” Petty noted.

“We can’t arrest our way out of this problem.” That became the rallying cry for the Jumpin’ Joe Petty machine. Soon afterwards Dicky Rushton, the biggest slobby mess who has ever served political office, was telling this to anyone who would listen as councilors Michael Gaffney and Konnie Lukes attempted to combat this epidemic of violence more forcefully.

Here was Ed Augustus’ plan:

A major part of the city’s plan is the long-term approach announced in late June, the Youth Violence Prevention Initiative, which involves 40 non-profits and agencies, including the district attorney and juvenile court, to create a long-term reduction in gang associations. Some tactics include creating job opportunities, building skills and keeping youth busy in the summer. At the beginning of July, Augustus also rolled out a newly revamped summer recreation program for younger children. It runs in 11 of the cities parks from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every day and provides two free meals. In it’s first two weeks, 4,000 children attended the program.

AKA, let’s just throw money at non-profits, because we don’t throw nearly enough money at non profits. And obviously this investment has worked out spectacularly!!

A couple of days later Konnie Lukes proposed that the city of Worcester bring in outside help to combat this problem, particularly the state police. For that she was crucified by Jumpin Joe and the establishment:

“You can do a lot of damage in the city, by saying things in a knee jerk reaction. Or if you want to take ads out saying we have a violent school system, we have a violent city – it does a lot of damage. You want to talk about bringing business to the city – that does more damage than anything else.”

Yup. If you admit there is a violence and gang problem and try to find solutions to it, you can do a lot of damage to the city. Particularly to Joe Petty’s reelection campaign. It’s bad for business, which is why he continues to lie to us and say the city is safe. A WPD officer also spoke out against it:

“It’s a slap in the face to the men and women of the Worcester Police Department, it’s a slap in the face to the community workers that are here, the nonprofits, the clergy,” Police Sgt. Anthony Petrone said.

Anthony Petrone is a political lobbyist who has a day job as a cop. He’s given countless donations to the machine and campaigns for both Petty and the crime boss himself, Jim McGovern.

Why are we bringing this up now? Because this happened yesterday:

Wait a minute, wait a minute. The FBI and DEA helped out on this? I thought it was a “slap in the face” to the Worcester Police if we got outside help? And why are we arresting these guys? I thought we couldn’t arrest our way out of the problem?

Do you see what happened here? We did exactly what Lukes and Gaffney have been trying to do for months, and boom – 15 gang members and a small arsenal of illegal guns are taken off the streets.

So basically we did the EXACT OPPOSITE of what Joe Petty, Dicky Rushton, Sarai Rivera, Ed Augustus, and the rest of the establishment have been pushing for – we collaborated with outside agencies and we arrested a whole bunch of bad guys.

Of course Petty’s campaign manager Paul Giorgio, who has been sentenced to community service and probation for voter fraud and had charges of having sex with a minor brought against him in a real courtroom, immediately took credit for this:

Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 8.51.47 AM

Yup. We got these guys IN SPITE of Joe Petty and company. Great job by the WPD per usual.

Mosaic employee Nathan Pickens, who has advocated for such noble causes as killing women when they demand child support and calling other black people “house niggers” if they support Gaffney, had this to say:

Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 8.29.11 AM Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 8.30.00 AM Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 8.30.20 AM

Yea, let’s not lock them up. We should all send them to Mosaic to get their blood pressure tested instead. They’d be the first people to actually do so, and then they could actually come up clean in an audit. After that we’ll have some juice and cookies and maybe stage a protest against institutional racism and white privilege in the middle of the street. Speaking of……

Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 8.31.28 AM

Yea, taking a bunch of guns off the streets isn’t gonna make our city safer, because the middle class wouldn’t have been endangered in the first place. Sure, some poor people might get caught in the cross-fire, but fuck them, right Sharon? Whose campaign do they contribute to? Oh yea, nobody.

Sharon’s right. Instead of arresting these people and taking guns off the streets we should all heed her advice and read a book about institutional racism and white privilege. Because that’s been working out great so far.

Just a reminder, Nathan Pickens is an openly bigoted, racist man who thinks gang bangers shouldn’t go to jail and says stuff like this to black people he doesn’t like:

Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 9.16.49 AM

Naturally then Joe Petty gave him a key to the city:

Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 9.16.06 AM Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 9.16.14 AM

Yup, even ask Joe Petty. He’ll tell you about how he rewarded this peaceful, loving member of our society with a key to the city!!

Oh yea, and of course Sarai Rivera supports this guy too:

Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 9.20.08 AM Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 9.19.55 AM

No big deal. People like Sarai and Nathan Pickens are just misunderstood. You know, like Jesus:

Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 9.20.19 AM

Sarai Rivera = Jesus. That should be her campaign slogan. Because Jesus hated cops and was a flaming racist too.

Screen-Shot-2015-10-06-at-1.27.33-AM

Naturally then the establishment is freaking out:

Screen Shot 2015-10-07 at 8.53.13 AM

I don’t know who runs this page, but they endorsed Sarai Rivera, Hilda Ramirez, Tracy Novick, and Joe Petty for office. Obviously they are a joke. But please tell me more about how Gaffney and Lukes addressing gun violence is a political ploy. And even if it is, at least they’re telling the truth. Joe Petty is LYING to us about public safety and standing in the way of police action like this, and then taking the credit for it.

Glad to see that Worcester is a little safer today, but obviously we need to keep being more proactive like this in order to take our city back. With Mike Gaffney for Mayor and Rob Sargent, Jackie Kostas, and Konnie Lukes serving on the City Council, we might actually help turn Worcester into a place where people want to live and businesses want to invest.

All gun possession charges will be dropped mark my words.. Worcester does not follow through on gun charges and turtle should look into that and do a real story on it..The DA always go for lesser charges and its pretty simple to find..There is a real story hidden as to why Worcester does not press gun charges..Fed funding for something maybe ??

95? arrests for unlawful gun possession in Worcester for 2014 and zero convictions for the crime..Always dropped for a lesser charge..Something stinks please look into it you are the only one who will!!

I left Worcester 15 years ago and have never looked back! When I come home to visit my family, I am disgusted. My out of town friends describe it as looking “under construction.” I prefer the term ghetto. Its sad because there are so many decent hard working people, beautiful architecture, and so much potential. But for whatever reason, the people who run it, have kept it low income. How about less dollar stores, and more of, well, anything besides dollar stores and strip clubs. I’m thankful for turtle boy for exposing the truth! Because that T&G is worthless.

Best of luck to those selling, unfortunatley many who are ready to move can’t. Hamilton Street area has been overrun in record time. Who wants to buy a single family when shootings are a common occurence. Already many gang affiliated arrests off June. So no whining when you get a fraction of assessed value.

This is kind of a riddle but here goes: if you are so incompetent that you need the guidance of a pedophile to win an election that was bred to be handed to you, might be time for a change.

Gee… How did we know that Gussy and Puddy would come rollin’ in to take credit for savin’ our city?

My husband and I are both lifelong residents of the city and have chosen, as a two income tax paying family, to raise our three kids here. The only thing that is making us think about moving isn’t the upswing in gang activity, but the lack of a real response and plan by the mayor and city manager. It is time to oust Petty and bring Gaffney in- he can’t be any worse and just may bring some new ideas in.

Wow, I give you credit. My husband and I are lifelong residents as well, and have had enough and are leaving. The house in our middle class neighborhood goes on the market in the spring. Hopefully we will get what it is worth. Regardless, we have made the decision. Our kids are grown, so it has nothing to do with the schools. We are so tired of the same old political machine running the city the same old way, with nary a chance of anyone not in the fold making headway. And while the suburbs prosper, we watch our city continue to decline with more and more gang activity, illegal dumping, and a negative atmosphere.

We are sadly but seriously considering leaving as well. Good luck with your sale, and may your new home be a happy one!

Father Rivera, Jesus yelled at the “priests” cause they were perverting the word like father riveras cult. The Romans he payed no attention. This online priest college needs to be investigated before another wacko like Waco happens,if Rivera says drink the kool-aid don’t.

Worcester, Massachusetts residents successfully pressured city officials to ask the television show Cops to stop filming in their city. Here is video of a rally against the Cops show held at City Hall on July 24, 2006. The rally was organized by youth, community, and clergy members. The crowd expresses its concern about the filming. They state that the show singles out vulnerable members of the community and could hurt community/police relations. That was 9 years ago. There was never a problem then …still isn’t today. Everything in the city is just peachy keen!! YA RIGHT

Why did the good people of Worcester elect Joe Petty as mayor? Why would anyone even consider some one like Sarai Rivera? After liberalism is indeed a mental disorder. These people belong in an insane asylum not runing your city.

I’m glad this site is active, the T&G basically does not do any investigative work. Pathetic they are.

I guess you don’t do words too well. Lukes suggested putting MSP on patrol with the WPD, that is what was shut down. Help with investigations has always and will always be used. And you constantly take the “can’t arrest our way out of the problem” out of context. It means just arresting will not solve the problem, something must be done to stop the flow of people into the gangs. But, if you bothered to quote people accurately, then how can you twist everything into a negative against Petty?

“I expect YOU PEOPLE to have your racist ideas besides being racist people” is what ol Pickens posted… What exactly does he mean by “you people” if he’s talkin about white folk, then THAT’S quite racist, if you ask me.

This press release was written as if a RECENT raid swept up all 16 of them. These arrests occurred over months and months. Some were MV stops where a weapon was found, one was from a MV accident This was not one big, recent raid. Glad as heck they’re at least cracking down (finally), but the release was ,at best, misleading.
