As we reported on Facebook last night, the Summer of Love has claimed it’s first truly innocent victim – a three year old child from Plumley Village. He and a 28 year old woman were shot last night around 8:30 in what will almost definitely be identified as a gang related shooting. Unfortunately we’ve been saying this would happen for the past several weeks. Worcester gangstas have terrible aim and it was only a matter of time until an innocent bystander got hit by a stray bullet. Unfortunately it had to be a three year old child. Terrible.

Screen Shot 2015-08-04 at 1.30.10 AM

The bottom line is this. Turtleboy Spotes is politely requesting that both Ed Augustus and Joe Petty to resign as City Manager and Mayor of Worcester. Their inaction and denial is directly responsible for this child being shot. They have wasted hundreds of thousands in tax payer dollars hosting DOJ meetings because RBG and Wanda don’t like a fucking blog. Meanwhile, they continue to feed us statistics about how Worcester is relatively safe compared other cities.

Newsflash – no one gives a fuck about your stupid statistics about other cities. We care about Worcester. And in Worcester three year olds are getting shot for no reason. Yet just yesterday in the Telegram and Gazette, City Manager Ed Augustus thought it would be a good time to go ahead and write this in an op-ed:

“Increased police presence will help, but we know we can’t arrest our way out of the problem. Worcester remains a safe place to live, work, and play.”

Worcester is a safe place to live….unless you’re a poor kid growing up in Plumley Village. In that case you can go fuck yourself because Ed Augustus doesn’t have to sleep in that neighborhood so he assumes it’s as safe as where he lives.

Enough is enough. We’ve been preaching about these crooks and gutless politicians for months and we’ve finally reached our breaking point. As the most influential and widely read news source in the city we demand that Joe Petty and Ed Augustus immediately resign. It’s nothing personal, but this is now an emergency. Because of their gross incompetence and failure to take necessary action, a child is fighting for his life tonight. Enough is enough. Step down and let people who actually care about their city implement a safety plan that allows police to do their jobs.

As the courts have proven this year, involvement in at least three shootings in a 3 month span is required prior to bail being revoked. The most bothersome thing beside the unaccountable court is the utter silence on the part of Petty, Rushton etc and even the State Reps ODay Mahoney, no where to be found.

There is nothing new I can add to this thread except this.

A plea to the Editor-in-Chief of Turtle Boy Sports. It’s time that we take our message of decency, morality and accountability to the streets of Worcester. We need to rally in front of city hall or organize a march for the decent on one of the main roads. We, the common, hard working moral majority need to organize and fight back against all the scum and let them know that we are DONE with their bullshit. Its time to unify and celebrate our commonalities in a positive grassroots demonstration. Its time we take back our streets. Who is with me////

These dolts continue to refuse to recognize the problem is GANGS and keep blaming poverty or opportunity and as silly as it sounds even inanimate objects (guns). Gangs gangs gangs. Hizzoner should say it and be set free.

Worcester is so small, law enforcement knows exactly who is causing this mayhem. Just from dating one of these so called “gang members” back in the day, I could probably construct a fine suspect chart. It’s almost as if the mayor is allowing this to happen. If it were not for these idiots horrible aim, this city would have a high body count right now. City hall kept Worcester low income, 3 decker Capitol of the world for so long, now we are all paying the price.

Why does it seem like the OVERWHELMING disproportionate amount of gun violence in Worcester is caused by 2 particular segments of society. Oh right, because it is ….. Stats don’t lie.

Well ,in my opinion, this is what is going on here in Worcester, Boston and most major metropolitan cities in this country this summer with an unprecedented spike in gun violent incidents:

      • It all started with a few isolated incidents in the country of white police officers versus black male suspects and in some cases where the black male suspects have died unfortunately.

      • Then mass protests ensued across the nation with antidotes of police wrong doing up to being Nazi racists toward people of color. Which is wrong.

      • Then President Obama acknowledged race relation problems with police and people of color but did NOTHING in an effort to calm our citizens or help our police thus virtually giving those who think they were affected by this a green light to go crazy, commit every crime in the book, get guns and shoot up our streets because it’s ok – the President of the United States got your back. So the criminals think.

It is a pattern of governmental incompetence from the highest level so it made it easy to recognize, follow and then surmise the end result. I do love my country and respect my President but I believe obvious large mistakes were made that brought us to where we are now and boy oh boy do we need a change. November can not get here fast enough.

      Just my opinion.

Which is wrong meaning an unsubstantiated claim against all police. The assertion is insane.

Bias reporting. Petty and Augustus have nothing to do with implementing these policies. Gemme is the police chief and Mariano is in charge of wph. Why should two men resign because of the act of some savage. And this happened literally across from the police station can’t win em all turtleboy.

Regardless of how fucking horrible a project is, a 3 year old child is still innocent you fucking maniac. You know you sound like Stalin right now? When he told his generals right before the invasion of Germany, “Only the unborn are innocent.”

By your logic, that makes my four year old nephew a future drug addict because we live in Webster. You can’t judge everyone in Plumley Village based on the savages and scumbags.

As a former Worcester resident, I used to praise the city when talking with people throughout the state. I’d always mention that Worcester was the finest of the second tier cities (Springfield, Lawrence, Brockton, Lowell, New Bedford, etc.). After this summer, I don’t know if I can keep saying that. It’s sad.

The Shooting on the corner of Dartmouth and Fairmont is a clear picture of the direction this city is headed. That neighborhood has never seen gang activity or violence like this before. Sad days for this city. Time for change.

“Step down and let people who actually care about their city implement a safety plan that allows police to do their jobs”

Another article about how the current administration’s plans to end violence don’t work and another article you don’t share what a working plan is. You’ll have a small group of die-hard riders that will do whatever you post on your site, but if you plan on convincing the free-thinking middle group of citizens you’ll have to do better than this. If you hope to get a candidate elected in November, you need that middle group.

TB identified a problem in North High, proposed a solution of adding a police presence and pushed to make it happen. It happened. They brought up the issues surrounding Mosaic, pushed for an audit and got one. I mean, do you expect TB to fix everything?

      • Dude
        August 4, 2015 at 9:59 am

It’s not his solution I’m looking for, but rather the solution of the candidates he endorses. This is the third time in three posts I’ve asked what alternative plans TB’s candidates have and the third time TB has stayed silent. The Petty/Augustus has increased police funding (which TB has implied is the only solution worth a damn), and yet still blasts them for trying other things as well (cause in case this story wasn’t obvious, more police only helps with the clean-up after a crime happens, not in prevention). Please don’t take this as an endorsement on my part for Petty, that is not the point of my questioning. My point is you can’t demand some people get elected and others not while not providing the information voters need to make an informed decision. What does Gaffney plan to do about the violence in the city?

        • RJ
          August 4, 2015 at 11:28 am

“cause in case this story wasn’t obvious, more police only helps with the clean-up after a crime happens, not in prevention”

I can’t speak to the bulk of what you’re asking, other than to say that TB isn’t the campaign site for anyone. Gaffney advertises here, but it’s not his campaign site. If he completely devolved into a campaign site, it would probably be a bit of a turnoff.

That said, regarding what you posted above, I don’t believe that everyone out there is just waiting for an opportunity to start shooting up a city street. I think most people wouldn’t do that even if they were certain they wouldn’t face consequences because it’s not the right thing to do. Therefore, there’s a subset of people who will do this. In Worcester, I’d be willing to bet that all off the shootings and violence could probably be traced back to…what, 50, maybe 100 people? 200 tops? If the police arrest those people and get them off the streets, the problem goes away or at least is dramatically diminished. We aren’t talking about taking on Genghis Khan and the Mongol Horde. There’s a relatively small group of people opening fire around the city and I’d be willing to bet that many community members can identify a good chunk of them. The key is getting these people to identify them to the police and empowering the police to go get them.

          • Dude

And yet, TB pushes for voter support for Gaffney with the majority of his posts. He has yet to address what Gaffney will do in office (except the vague claim that he will fix our woes). I don’t think it is too much to ask if someone is so vocal about a candidate, they take the time to explain what exactly the candidate plans to do.

As to the other portion of your response, I don’t believe that will solve the problem for the long term. There are two clear problems with the “more cops” solution. First, the 50, 100, 200 individuals that would commit such crimes need to commit a crime before you can arrest them. Thanks to those pesky “rights” we all have as Americans, you just can’t roll through the projects and arrest gang members as a preventative measure. You have to wait till they either commit a crime or you happen to catch them right before it happens. In either situation, you are reacting and not preventing. Now, let’s say that in a perfect world the police are able to catch the 50-200 people just before they cause harm to someone. They all go to jail. You might get a few months of quiet, but as soon as the gangs repopulate the ranks, they will be right back to shooting and stealing. The reason is the 50-200 people that you threw in jail are not going to be the leaders. They keep themselves clean enough that you can’t get charges to stick. You deplete their ranks and they just go out to the neighborhoods with promises of money, women, khakis, and power and we are right back in the same boat. And that is what Augustus meant by you can’t arrest away the problem. It means in addition to the legal action side of taking down the gangs via arrests, we need to cut off the feed of new recruits. That is what will kill the gangs in Worcester.

That’s what is wrong we stand around and hope that everything comes into place. I grew up in Webster Sq area would never move back there or anywhere in the city. A stand needs to be taken ASAP against gangs, violence, and drugs. Arrests need to be made and the laws enforced, we should not be holding back because some organizations say we should. As an officer of the law it’s your duty to uphold that law and do your fucking jobs. Do if that means shooting these little fucking funky to protect innocent people then so be it..

Irregardless is an informal word meaning regardless. Dumb asses use it to try to sound smarter than they are and unwittingly out themselves as complete morons. You can argue that it is in the dictionary, but that does not make the usage of the word acceptable or correct.

What facts did thet get wrong on this story? That an innocent child has now become a victim of the violence running unchecked and rampant in Worcester? I think that fact is very well established. I think you are either dumb or in denial.

This is not a complete solution but the city needs to start enacting a curfew. Shut it down at ten pm and anyone oout who is not on the way home from or to work until 5am is immediatly arrested for curfew violations. It will help seperate the criminals from the law abiding citizens and help get some of the TRASH off the streets.

Red yellow black or white if someone acts like an animal they should be treated as such.

Now get off your ignorant high horse and do something to actually help HUMANITY instead of enabling these animals who by the by are now shooting innocent children. How can you and the powers that be live with yourselves? Oh right. You would need a brain a heart and an actual soul… Like a psychopath lacks. You. The Worcester establishment. The gangsters? All of you are souless psychopaths.

I heard gunshots down the road from my house on Hamilton Street around 3am tonight. I turned on the police scanner just in time to hear that ShotSpotter had identified 16, I say again, 16 gunshots coming from the area of 32 Dartmouth Street. The police were quick to respond and try to find the vehicles that dropped off a shot male at UMass University Campus and then took off. He claims to have been just standing on the sidewalk when a car pulled up and shot him. If that was the case why did his buddies run away from the ER once they dropped him off? The police identified the cars involved. Arrest him, arrest the vehicle owners, and then go search the homes they live in. Anyone with common sense can almost be certain this was some sort of retaliation for the shooting earlier today or another drug and gang related shoot out.

And they can start with a raid on Mosaic’s city owned offices. Since that’s been the rallying point for the shitheads who tied the hands of the police for far too long. They may not be criminally liable, but they’re still culpable. If that boy dies, his blood is on the hands of Big Bad Bobby, Mrs. Old Balls, Keesha LaConArtist, and Brenda Jessie-Raphael.
