Earlier today we published this blog about Boston Globe columnist Kevin Cullen’s embellishment outright lies about being present at the Boston Marathon bombing, as well as being friends with a firefighter named Sean who saved “Janey” Richard’s life.

But the story gets even more outrageous. Check out this interview Cullen did with the BBC the day after the bombing, which is one of the greatest works of fiction you will ever hear:

Lie #1: “I saw the first responders who ran towards the blast, and they pulled the flags away to get to the victims. And as I put it in my column today, those flags looked like victims. And in some ways they were, because this was not just an attack on Boston, it was an attack on the international community.”

Kevin Cullen was not at the Boston Marathon that day and did not run towards the blast. He fully admits this now. His dramatic storytelling of the flags being on the ground and it being a symbol international community being attacked is pure theatrics and nothing more.

Lie #2: “I know some firefighters who were really upset by this. And I talked to one of them last night and I wanted him to get out of the house and meet us and come have a drink. He told me he didn’t wanna leave cuz he couldn’t get the blood out of his fingernails. That’s what he was doing. He was scraping blood out of his fingernails.”

Yea, that never happened. This guy always has a friend who was right there. And they’re almost always involved in something super dramatic like this. How hard is it to get blood off your fingernails? Soap fixes that. But apparently he literally knows half of Boston and has a story like this for everyone.

Lie #3: “Bill Richard is a well known community activist in Dorchester. He’s well known. I know him. He had just finished the marathon and his son Martin ran out into the street and hugged him. And then bill had to go on and register his time and Martin went back to his Mom and sister. And then the bomb exploded and Martin was killed.”

Bill Richard is not a “community activist,” whatever that means. More importantly he did not run the Boston Marathon that day. Kevin Cullen literally pulled this out of his ass for dramatic effect. Martin Richard did not run out into the street to hug him because there was a gate blocking him that was taller than he was, and his Dad didn’t run. Plus, runners all have chips now. They don’t “register their times” with the clerk like it’s 1948.

Lie #4: “I know the firefighter who carried the girl to the ambulance, and he’s very upset, and he said he wished he could’ve done more.”

He knows EVERYONE. This guy’s rolodex has its own rolodex. But the firefighter he claims to know is named Matt Patterson, and he works in Lynn. He says he has never spoken to Kevin Cullen in his life.

Kevin Cullen hasn’t shut up about the marathon bombing since it happened. And he tells some other tall tales too. Turns out this wasn’t the only bombing he was in the vicinity of:

“I was in Omagh in Norther Ireland in 1998 three hours after that bomb went off. And I was in London 8 hours after the 7/7 bombings. And what I experienced at that bombings was what I experienced today in Boston.”

First of all, I highly doubt any of that is true. Secondly, even if it was, what does it have to do with the story? This is just him trying to story drop on his own fabricated story. He has to insert himself as a character into every single story he covers, particularly the tragedies.

And of course he had to pull the ol’ “I’m so Boston Strong” card:

“I refuse to do that (be scared). Today, I walked through the back bay, up and down. There was a guy walking up and down Newbury Street playing the oboe, some jazz standards.”

No. Just no. There was no guy with an oboe walking up and down Newbury Street playing jazz standards you LIAR!! God, is there any story he’s ever told that doesn’t sound like something that was on my 8th grade summer reading list?

He story drops the Northern Ireland and London bombings all the time too. Notice how thick he puts on the Boston accent too (he normally only has a slight accent):

He’s doing the whole, “I’m a rugged, Irish Bostonian” act. The kind of guy who knows everyone and which I prove by calling them by their nicknames. Like “Johnny McClellan.” Of course he had to make it all about him once again:

“This had an impact on me, I knew these first responders. I was in Omagh at the bombings.”

Oh shut the fuck up you self absorbed twatwaffle. No one cares about the impact this had on you. No one cares who you knew. No one cares that you’re lying to us about being in Northern Ireland right after the bombings. For once in your life, it’s not about you.

“Sean Collier’s brother and sister reached out to me. They wanted to talk to me because they wanted to tell Sean’s story.”

No they didn’t. You’re lying about them just like you lied about the Richard family being friends with you. They didn’t reach out to you because you had a unique ability to tell Sean Collier’s story. It’s amazing he had the balls to do this, knowing that there was a good chance they’d see it.

Of course he had to throw this in there too:

“I think the last 2 weeks have shown that newspapers like the Boston Globe are vital because we are a part of this community. Woody Allen said 80% of life is showing up. Well, the Boston Globe showed up.”

Look everyone, I’m helping!! The Boston Globe was just like the first responders. We “showed up” by doing our fucking jobs and writing about the international incident that happened down the street. God, it’s so pathetic when people who work for newspapers try to convince us that newspapers still have a reason for existing in the digital age. All you did with your coverage was tell lie, after lie, after lie. Because newspapers are a relic of the past and the only way for you to stay relevant is to dramatize a story you were never a part of to begin with.

He also did an interview with Boobs Baldwin, the only media personality who might be more obnoxious and self absorbed than him:

“I gotta go visit my buddy Ricky Q, he’s a ER doctor bored out of his mind in the medical tent.”

If I have to hear about one more of his fucking buddies whose name he dropped a “y” at the end of, my head is going to explode. He knows literally EVERYONE involved in the Boston Marathon bombing. It’s remarkable.

Oh, and we heard there’s one that’s even worse that we intend on blogging about today. Apparently he was involved in the HBO special from 2016 about the Patriots Day Bombing, and it’s his worst lie yet abot Krystle Campbell. So stay tuned for that.

So the question now is, what’s the Globe gonna do about it? Because the only ones covering this are the Kirk and Callahan morning show on WEEI, and Turtleboy. That’s it. The Globe is acting like this never happened, even though they are well aware of it by now.

But the Globe will dismiss K&C and Turtleboy as right wing shock jocks peddling fake news for calling out their fake news. Remember, the Boston Globe spent a full week harassing WEEI advertisers into pulling their ads because WEEI is hate speech.

To punish Cullen would be to admit that their editorial board fucked up too. And the only way to hold Cullen accountable is for other MSM outlets to cover this story too. So where is the Herald? NBC 10? WCVB? WBZ? WHDH? Anyone of the five million Gatehouse owned newspapers in New England? Anyone out there interested in a well known reporter telling a series of lies over the last five years about his role in the Boston Marathon Bombing? Nah.

The fact that this isn’t a major story shows you just how pathetic and complicit the MSM has become. They no longer have any shred of journalistic integrity.
