In January we shared this story from Boston Latin High School, in which students were accusing their teachers and students of being racist because they disagreed with them about the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson. A race-baiting City Councilor named Tito Jackson has been using the kids there and getting them all fired up at their teachers for not being sensitive enough to their feelings. Basically he was doing it because he’s going after Marty Walsh’s mayoral seat in the next election:

Tito Jackson was urging students to find ways their teachers were racist. Like this:

As you can see, they’re using a hashtag, which tells you that they mean business!! Those things DEFINITELY happened. Definitely.

Anyway, this little movement of students has led to adults in the community demanding that the headmaster step down. And it also prompted one African-American student named Destinee Wornum to come forward about an incident she claims happened over 2 years ago, in which her English teacher called her the “n” word. The Boston Globe decided to run this girl’s one-sided, unconfirmed story in their trashy newspaper because they knew it would get clicks. Here it isAnd here’s the Herald’s version of it, since we’ve already used our five free Globe clicks this month:

A Dorchester mom is calling for her daughter’s former Boston Latin School teacher to be fired after she allegedly directed a racial slur toward the student last year during a lesson on Huckleberry Finn, and wants a public apology for what she says was inaction from administration at the prestigious school after her daughter sought to report the incident.

Rosalind Wornum told the Herald the teacher said to her daughter, Destinee Wornum, currently a junior at Boston Latin, “What’s up my [expletive]?” during a discussion of Mark Twain’s novel, which uses the slur liberally. The teacher then asked her, “How does that make you feel?”, according to the Wornums.

Alright first of all, you’d have to be a complete moron to believe this girl’s story. There was a classroom full of kids. Do you realize how quickly this would’ve become the biggest story ever, considering every kid in that classroom has an iMachine with access to Twitter? Oh yea, and no one else is confirming this story and the teacher hasn’t been interviewed. Besides that I’m sure this is exactly what happened.

Anyway, we’ve seen this battle before. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn isn’t pretty language, which was the WHOLE POINT!!! That’s why Mark Twain is part of the “Realism” movement. He wanted to accurately portray the ugliness of the world he grew up in. But for some reason these whiny little loser kids today need to run to their safe space every time they learn about something that hurts their delicate feelings. Perhaps then we shouldn’t teach kids about the Holocaust as well. Too sad.

Newsflash – you cannot teach Huckleberry Finn effectively without that word coming up. I’m sure it’s hard for English teachers to manage that, and I’m SURE the English teacher did not use that word in the context that the 14 year old girl says she did.

Wornum met with BLS Headmaster Lynne Mooney Teta today on the matter, which is coming to light after two students in January launched #BlackAtBLS, a social media campaign to spotlight racial tensions in the school.

Ya see that? That’s all Tito Jackson’s doing. He’s the one who organized this whole #BlackAtBLS nonsense, and convinced these children that their teachers are a bunch of old racist white women. This girl admits that she was inspired to come forward now, two years after the fact, because of a hashtag. Sounds legit.

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 3.05.10 PM

Local black leaders, including the president of the Boston NAACP, have called for Headmaster Teta to be removed, and initiated an ongoing federal civil rights probe of the racial climate in the elite exam school.

Oh for fuck’s sake. This is the thing to do now. Some special interest group comes forward and demands that everyone lose their job. Doesn’t matter if they have facts or if any of this shit is true. Better to rush to judgement and figure it out later. It worked at the University of Missouri when they forced the President to resign. It worked at Virginia when that frat was shut down over a bogus rape allegation. Same thing for Duke Lacrosse. But I guess we’ll never learn from our mistakes and history will just keep repeating itself instead.

Destinee Wornum told the Herald she was “very upset and hurt and embarrassed” by the teacher’s query, and promptly requested a meeting with Teta to discuss it at the time, but Teta’s secretary never got back to her to schedule a meeting.

Oh I’m sorry, did the teacher hurt your precious feelings little girl? Were you not ready to handle a discussion of an American classic in your English class?

Screen Shot 2015-12-28 at 1.20.12 PM

“When I never got an answer I just gave up, because I was frustrated,” Wornum said. “At that point I was like, if they’re not doing anything for me by this point, then I don’t want to risk my grade or my place in the school. So I was just like, maybe it’s best for me to just stay quiet.”

Hey, here’s an idea – talk to the teacher about it. I know, I know, it’s crazy talk. But it just might work. Then again the situation would’ve actually have had to happen as you describe it did, and we all know that wasn’t the case.

She recalled being one of three black students in the English class that day and being shocked when the teacher made her way over to her desk and blurted out the offensive question.

“I’m looking at her like blank-faced because I didn’t know what to say and I was at a loss for words,” Wornum recalled. “She goes, ‘How did that make you feel?’ And my reaction was – I honestly would have gotten suspended from school, because I honestly wanted to get up and fight you. And then she just laughed. She just laughed and then just kept going.”

Yea, right. I’m sure that’s exactly what happened.

To make matters worse, here’s how the Globe wrote the story:

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 3.39.55 PM

The teacher “walked from the front of the classroom” and said that racial slur in that exact context. Literally word for word. Notice they didn’t preface it with, “according to the politically motivated 16 year old girl retelling an unconfirmed story from 2 years ago.” Instead they wrote it as a statement of fact. As if this was the indisputable truth.

Now let’s check out Mom’s FacebookFirst of all, Rosalind Wornum refers to herself as “Queen”:

She seems normal. Good thing the Globe took her second hand story at face value instead of speaking with the teacher and giving her a chance to explain what actually happened.

But according to the Queen, she is actually bigger than a Queen, and is in the market for a new name:

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 2.47.00 PM

So who is the King?

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 2.52.43 PM

Makes sense.

Oh yea, and look who she hangs out with:

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 3.02.58 PM

City Councilor Tito Jackson. The same guy who started the witch hunt to find racist teachers at Boston Latin. Which would make sense since Mom encouraged her daughter to participate in the “blackout” to oppose their teachers racism:

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 2.59.28 PM

The Queen also claims that they’re not teaching black history in school anymore:

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 2.46.23 PM

Which is weird, because they definitely are. Oh yea, and Huck Finn was about racism in the South. These are just facts though. Stupid facts.

Here’s the day that Queen Rosalind found out about this alleged racial incident:

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 2.53.29 PM

She admits that when incidents like this happened in the past, she had waited by the teacher’s car and bashed their head into the windshield:

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 2.54.30 PM

It’s OK though, because she found Jesus. This is the person the Boston Globe is believing over an experienced teacher. This is the person the Boston Globe is allowing to label a teacher as a racist.

12509249_10207284064712727_7883343266347774898_n

Her friends were egging her on too:

Screen Shot 2016-03-17 at 2.53.53 PM

Yup, make sure she gets fired. Fire everyone. Who cares if they’re innocent? Who cares if it’s impossible to avoid using the “n” word while teacher Huck Finn? Who cares if firing someone over a racial incident means they’ll never be able to find a teaching job again? Who cares if they lose their pension, home, and reputation permanently? The Queen wrote something on Facebook so it’s just gotta be true.

10400252_10207461707553687_3024083419043829747_n
Here’s my question – is the Queen equally mad every time she hears that word in a rap song or between two kids? Or is this one of those double standard things?

Anyway, the bottom line is this is why people read Turtleboy Sports. Because if it were left up to the Globe they’d just feed you these fantastic fairy tales. They just took a huge, steamy dump all over a teacher. They believed a clearly unstable woman who calls herself “Queen” and a 16 year old girl who is being manipulated by a race-baiting City Councilor and is gunning for the mayoral seat. This is what “real journalism” looks like.

I really enjoy reading this blog. I have been reading for over a year and althought I don’t agree completely some of the time, there is a lot being brought out in the open and a lot of great ideas and arguments. Keep up the great work you really are an excellent writer(s) and concerned, active members of your community and society at TurtleBoy Sports.

It appears that “rational person” is living in a dream world. This is just another case of someone using the race card for personal gain. Remember the two girls from Albany University that said they where attacked by a bunch of white people on the bus. That was BS and this is the same BS.

Where does it say anywhere that she wants monetary compensation?

Look, I hate it when people make shit up, like the losers in Missouri. That stuff needs to stop.

But I will be curious to see how this story progresses. It’s interesting that the teacher’s name hasn’t been mentioned. Also interesting is I haven’t seen any comments from any other kids who were in class that day. Time will tell.

I can’t find any evidence that the mom made this story up. I think your headline is very misleading and “click bait.” When I read other stories about it and thought about it, I can see where this could happen. I can also understand why the student didn’t make a public stink about it at the time, fearing for her place at the school.

I can sort of understand why the teacher thought that question might spark some interesting class discussion. A lot of people greet each other that way and think nothing of it. She should have discussed it with the student beforehand to see if she would be comfortable with it.

I don’t blame the mom for being pissed. I would be too.

Go ahead and disagree with me. I don’t care.

I agree with you Max. That’s all this nonsense is about. That’s all it’s ever about. Sue the city and they will 100% settle rather than go to court. It’s cheaper for the towns and cities to settle. It’s virtually guaranteed.

        Great system huh?

Everyone wants to be the next MLK, Rosa Parks, Malcolm X. But opportunities like that are less than scarce because our country has made extreme progress moving forward. Instead they will resort to this just to make a name for themselves and feel accomplished instead of actually trying to succeed in life through hardwork and perseverance.

    Ok alright I get it.

    Why?

Why are there so many angry people of color? What do they hate white people so much? What did we do in this day and age to warrant this distain? This not the 1850’s or 60’s. This also is most definitely not the 1960’s. What the fuck is the problem here?

Less than a handful of Cops across the country appeared to have fucked up so that makes all white people bad? Really? No seriously really?

    And I’m still not convinced that those Cops were completely out of line;

Cop doing job. Goes after bad guy who needs to be arrested. Bad guy tries to grab Cops gun to kill him. Cop defends himself and kills bad guy so he can go home when shift is over.

    End of fucking story.

What the fuck part of this scenario is wrong? Answer? Not one fucking thing. And Obama not stepping up to calm the disenchanted is proof that he is no leader at all but an enabler to the chaos, riots and civil unrest that we all have witnessed in the past several years.

Fuck the Democratic Party. Hillary you are done.
