Last April we published this blog exposing a couple of INSANE Braintree parents who wrote some INSANE emails to the girl’s basketball coach, prompting her resignation after an 8 year tenure that included two D1 State Championships and last year’s runner up trophy.

The two worst parents were Rick Tonetti and his wife Kim, who is a second grade teacher in Quincy.

These were the emails:

These are quotes Kim Tonetti claim she heard from other parents:

“Another parent during the playoff games was writing out plays for you, because they did not feel you knew what you were doing.”

“I have to walk out of the gym because I can’t watch her coach.”

“I hate that woman right there. I can’t wait to write a letter to her.”

LOL. Let’s be clear – she was talking about herself. She just didn’t have the minerals to put her name to it. “I can’t wait to write a letter to her,” might be the most Braintree thing I’ve ever heard.

Either way these parents knew WAYYYY more about coaching basketball than Kristen McDonnell. From their vast experiences watching AAU games while telling all their friends how their daughters were superstars, they had developed way more basketball acumen than a coach who had made three state title games in four years.

After we served up this shame sandwich the Braintree High School administration did the only thing they could do – rehired Coach McDonnell. But let’s be clear – they never would’ve done this if we didn’t publish the emails. It would’ve been business as usual. But it’s hard to do that when a quarter of a million people read a blog and thousands of them flood your school with angry emails and phone calls in support of the coach.

Then this happened today:

Yup, Braintree won their third state championship in 9 years under Coach McDonnell’s guidance, and avenged last year’s loss to Springfield Central. And turtle riders had a lot to do with it by forcing the school to do the right thing. Yet another example of how Turtleboy is the ultimate force for good. Congratulations to Coach McDonnell and the girls, you all earned it by overcoming a bunch of bullshit you never should’ve had to deal with in the first place.

Remember though, Rick Tonetti wrote this in his email about the parent of a sophomore who got more playing time than his daughter:

By the way, when people see (parent of another girl) Jeff Timberlake talking to all the officials ahead of time and his daughter starts and plays the entire game, it’s not a stretch for even the most naive to see when something is being manufactured.

So according to Rick Tonetti, Jeff Timberlake’s daughter Adriana wasn’t good enough to start on her own. She only did so because the coach favored her. Let’s see how Adriana, who is now a junior, did in today’s game:

The Wamps then went for it all, firing the ensuing inbounds pass the length of the floor, clearing a Central defender’s outstretched hands by inches, instead falling into Adrianna Timberlake’s, who darted in for a layup.

“I did not think I was going to catch that, Mackenzie didn’t think it was going to get there,” said Timberlake, a junior forward who poured in a team-high 19 points.

Yup, she led the team with 19 points and she had the game clinching layup which you can see at the 55 second mark of this video:

But yea, tell me more about how the coach has no idea what she’s doing. Tell me more about how the best players aren’t playing. Tell me more about these plays the Tonetti’s were drawing up in the bleachers. I’m sure they would’ve won this game by 40.

The bottom line is that this is the ultimate fairy tale happy ending. And when you couple this with the Andover hockey story the message should be sent loud and clear to principals and athletic directors everywhere – don’t let out of control parents control their kid’s sports teams.

Hey Turtle writers; Yea rhymes with day, or yay, or say. And it’s used like this: ” we just had a vote and 12 people voted yea and 9 voted nay. The yeas have it.”
You guys use the word frequently but you should be using yeah. Like, “yeah right”.
If you want to be writers you need to touch up your English just a bit.
    Thank you.

      Hey Kilgore Trout:

“Yea” is an affirmative expression. “Yeah” is an informal affirmative expression, and it’s etymology isn’t traceable to any point further back than the 20th century. Since “yeah” is an informal expression, it requisite use isn’t defensible when compared to that of another affirmative expression which happens to be formal, therefore “Turtle Writers” can use “yea” to signify “yes” any way they want.

With regards to the rest of your self-important bullshit scree, it’s fucking hilarious when someone who writes 6th grade sentences has the inconceivable hypocritical balls to criticize someone else’s writing. I’ll point out your so that I can repair your SECOND GRADE PUBLIC SCHOOL TEACHER notion of how to write properly. Corrections have been indicated with numbers in brackets.

“‘Yea’ rhymes with day, or [1] yay, or [2] say. [3] And it’s used like this: ‘ [4] [5] we just had a vote [6] and 12 people voted yea and 9 voted nay. The yeas have it.’
You guys use the word frequently but you should be using yeah. [7] Like [8], ‘yeah right’.
If you want to be writers [9] you need to touch up your English just a bit.
      Thank you [10].”

After corrections, your pathetic scrawl would read as follows:

“”Yea’ rhymes with ‘day’, ‘yay’, and ‘say’, and it’s used in the following way: ‘We just had a vote, and 12 people voted ‘yea’ and 9 voted ‘nay’. The yeas have it.’
You guys use the word frequently, but you should be using ‘yeah’, such as in the phrase, ‘Yeah, right’.
If you want to be writers, you need to touch up your English just a bit.
      Thank you for your attention.”

Finally, read some “Dick and Jane” books and watch some Sesame Street to “touch up on your English just a bit”, and while you’re doing that, fuck yourself two times, you stupid cunt.

Kim Tonetti should be using her writing skills and time preparing for her second graders not trying to oversee a high school basketball team that obviously didn’t need her help. POS. Congratulations Coach!

I have coached my child before and parents always have something to say. If you have something to say then why don’t you take your time out and be a coach.

    Bravo….

Can’t figure out who is a worse parent, Rick Tonetti or the dipshit hockey dad from Andover.
