Busgate Update: 16 Year Old Who Punched Worcester Bus Driver Charged In Court – Here’s What Should Happen To Her

Breaking news in the Busgate 2014 story. Here’s the latest from Walter Bird over at Worcester Magazine:

The 16-year-old girl who forced her way onto a school bus and allegedly assaulted the driver earlier this month is a student in the school system who now faces an assault and battery charge as a result of the incident. School Safety Liaison Rob Pezzella says the girl, a minor whose name has not been released to the public, will be summonsed to juvenile court on a charge of assault and battery stemming from an incident aboard a bus dropping off students at Harlem Street and Perry Ave. Pezzella says he and the bus driver were at a court hearing Friday, Sept. 19 where he says sufficient facts were found to charge the girl, who allegedly made her way onto the bus and punched the female victim. According to Pezzella, the teenager was the sister of a kindergarten student on the bus.

Sweet glorious justice. When I first found out that it was a 16 year old who punched the driver, the first thing I thought was that there was NO WAY a dopey Massachusetts judge would actually hold her accountable for this. She was gonna get away with it because if adults in Massachusetts don’t get punished for shit like this, then there was no way a minor was.

I couldn’t be happier that I was wrong. The only thing I think is wrong about this is that she’s not charged as an adult. Fuck that. This is what happened:

At one point, the 16-year-0ld girl allegedly forced her way onto the bus through a door panel that had been kicked out, according to Boone. When the driver attempted to shield the students, the girl allegedly punched her.

That’s news to me. The bus driver actually tried to SHIELD these children from the Vernon Hill book club, and she was rewarded for her thoughtful, caring behavior with a knuckle sandwich to the face from some girl who thinks the National Honor Society is a “stop snitching” club. Newsflash – if you do shit like this then you’re no longer a juvenile. You’re a dangerous threat to society and everyone needs to know who you are so we can cross the street when we see you coming.

I mean, I don’t get why she gets to remain anonymous. Remember this asshole?

Phillip-Chism_1382634618193_1154788_ver1.0_320_240

No one was trying to keep Philip Chism’s name out of the paper after he killed his teacher in Danvers. Yea, I know the crimes are very different, but they’re ultimately the same type of person. They’re someone who thinks it’s OK to assault a person who has dedicated their lives and careers to protecting and helping children. These people can never change.

Meanwhile this girl just gets to keep going to school every day in the meantime like nothing happened. How can any teacher feel safe with her in the classroom? If she doesn’t get a pass to the bathroom fast enough does she punch them in the face too?

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – there is no one in society I respect more than teachers, and now bus drivers too. You poor people are society’s punching bags. Society literally drops off a steamy pile of shit in your classroom, and says, “you have 180 days to turn this steaming pile of shit into a beautiful flower.” If not, you’re fired, ya UNION HACK!!! Meanwhile you try to actually do your job, hold kids accountable, and follow procedures and protocols that you didn’t create, and BOOM – punched in the face by a 16 year old.

I don’t even think this girl was the biggest part of the problem though. She was a kid who saw a riot and jumped in on the action. She was just a pawn in the game. The real people that should be arrested and facing a judge are the savages that escalated that whole situation. That was nothing less than mob mentality. The woman from the infamous video, Jessica Jiminez

10001580_724683370905524_2043390420_n-1

encouraged the kids on the bus to start freaking out. She encouraged them to disregard the rules and jump out of the emergency exit. She encouraged the mob to physically threaten the bus driver. And then the mob got all fired up and acted on it. But make no mistake about it, this doesn’t happen without Jessica Jiminez there. She should be charged with inciting a riot and pelted with tomatoes outside of Sweaty Betty’s for 24 hours.

That’s Turtelboy justice.

Now she wants to remain anonymous? Ummmmmm then why did she talk to EVERY newspaper she could? She gives her name and admits to punching the driver. Check out http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2746121/angry-parents-storm-school-bus-claiming-driver-wouldnt-let-children-sweltering-vehicle-one-mob-PUNCHES-driver.html

Justice hasn’t been served yet, she’s merely been charged.

      Factman exactly!

That’s why some questions got asked. Trying to “keep the conversation going”
The articles get buried along with the comments. Why signup to keep track of comments and replies? Let alone a valid email, for what ammo?
I haven’t seen a conversation occur. Mostly some horn tutting or patting of the back. “Mean mugs and shoulder shrugs”
Don’t get it wrong this site has it’s potential. Actually been trying to help.

I’m not seeing how a site can say they’re a movement for silent voices then not allow silent voices be heard.

The comments I’ve seen about grammar, punctuation is probably just as annoying has it is for someone to see them. Meaning the comment cancels it’s self out.

Is it an English class, an actual movement for the people, or an insight to comedy hour? Might have stepped into something from the bull.

I’d insert a “now entering the twilight zone” pic if it didn’t take so long to insert a link in the posting.

Today’s rant has been brought to you (Rrr)

I hear the points being made, what I don’t get is why the bus would’ve been sitting for so long with the engine off.

One of the first things taught at school is in case of a fire drill evacuate.

    “These people can never change.”
That’s negative! No one has ever done anything wrong and grown to “learn the error of their way”? Would you suggest the young girl be locked away for good? On a misdemeanor! Maybe continue her education behind bars instead of the school system? I realize she was wrong but I don’t currently agree with the comment.

As a school bus driver myself, i can tell you that there is an anti-idling law that requires us to not let our engines run more than 5 minutes when parked. Also, this was not a fire drill. This was an active situation (unruly crowd) on a fairly busy city street. The driver’s duty is to maintain the students’ safety in the best way possible, which in this case was to keep them on the bus. Had there been an unsafe situation on the bus (smoke, fire, accident causing a fuel leak, an approaching train – you get the idea), then the children would have been evacuated to a nearby safe spot.

Alright karen8worc thanks for tuning in. I didn’t know of the anti-idle law.

The children’s safety comes first has it should. The driver should also consider it’s own safety. Why did the bus park? Couldn’t tell by the video! Was that when she was assaulted and closed the door? Was it after the emergency exit was opened? What’s that about a panel being kicked out? Don’t know the video leaves all that out. The fire drill comment left the door open for the conversation. Personally I’ve only seen a bus stay running when unloading passengers.
The parents were clearly over zealous. If it’s going to be put under a micro scope. Mine as well get the whole scoop. Instead of making our city look like an unruly rest stop. No offense karen that was poorly directed.

On another note admin might want to check UP on time stamps, mine are off.

Thank God Judge Perez isn’t around to throw her back on the street. That guy even pardoned Sideshow Bob.

God… Perez would have taken one look at her, patted her on the head, and sent her off on her merry way. That guy was a “great judge” because he let a never ending line of little shit sippers back onto the street.
