Another police officer has been killed by a felon who should’ve been in jail but wasn’t because a lenient judge…..

Authorities in Maine launched a dragnet Wednesday after a man shot and killed a sheriff’s deputy, stole his cruiser and then robbed a convenience store, officials said. Somerset County Sheriff Dale Lancaster said Corporal Eugene Cole was killed around 1:45 a.m. on U.S. Route 2 in Norridgewock, located about 30 miles north of the state capital of Augusta. Cole was one of two cops shot dead nationwide, with a Dallas police officer succumbing to his wounds Wednesday morning after being injured the day before.

Authorities said the suspect, 29-year-old John Williams, stole Cole’s police cruiser after the shooting and drove it to a Cumberland Farms store, a 24-hour gas and convenience store, and robbed it. Lancaster did not not disclose any details about what happened before the deputy was shot, saying that authorities would release further details by Wednesday afternoon. After fleeing the store, Williams abandoned the vehicle, which was found around 5 a.m., officials said. It is not known if Williams is in another vehicle or on foot.

Just one month ago this happened:

State troopers arrested a man from Maine for having a gun without a license, after they came upon his stranded vehicle on the side of Interstate 495. John Williams, 29, of 16 Jones St., Madison, Maine, was charged with possession/carrying a firearm, improper storage of a firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large capacity feeding device, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and marked lanes violation, state police said. He was ordered held on $7,500 cash bail.

Williams was arraigned on the charges on Thursday in Haverhill District Court, where in addition to setting bail, Judge Michael Patten issued him a 90-day warning, meaning if he is charged with another offense while his case is pending, he could be ordered held for up to 90 days without bail.

Police searched the vehicle’s trunk, and found, in plain view, a loaded, 9mm Smith and Wesson magazine capable of holding 16 rounds, and loaded with 10 rounds. Police also found a partly open pouch containing a 9mm Smith and Wesson model SD9VE handgun with the slide portion separated from the frame, as well as an additional loaded 9mm magazine capable of holding 16 rounds, and containing 10 rounds. An additional round was located inside the pouch.

Just to review. The guy was illegally carrying not one, but two loaded handguns on the side of the highway after crashing. They also found a loaded magazine with 10 rounds in it. It was 3:50 AM. He was all fucked up. They found tons of evidence of drug use on him and the passenger.

And Judge Michael Patten gave him a “90 day warning,” and was released on only $7,500 bail. This was 30 days ago. Obviously that “warning” meant absolutely nothing to this cold blooded criminal.

It’s just maddening on so many levels. First of all, this state continuously goes after places like The Gun Parlor, which is committing no crimes and sells a completely legal set of products that are guaranteed by the Second Amendment. But yet people who violate our gun laws get NOTHING!! What’s the point of gun laws if the courts aren’t going to enforce them? If you get caught with an illegal loaded gun, it should be automatic 10 years in prison, no questions asked. That’s what a state that was actually SERIOUS about gun laws and preventing violence would do. Not make it harder for law abiding citizens to purchase guns.

Secondly, Judge Michael Patten is the reason Officer Eugene Cole is deceased and his killer is on the run. If he kills anyone else in a desperate attempt to remain free that blood will be on Judge Patten’s hands as well. What these judges are doing is criminal. At what point do we as a society actually do something to stop this? How many cops have to be killed by career criminal shitbags before judges start losing their job? How bout we start charging them with criminal negligence? If you leave your loaded gun sitting on your coffee table and your child uses it to kill themselves or someone else, you can be charged. But yet judges, who knowingly let the maggots go free time and time again are NEVER held responsible for what happens next?

Makes sense.

Judge Patten made $178,000 last year, paid for by the taxpayers. If you make that much money you should be held to a higher standard. What has he done to earn that salary? Whatever happened to “with great power comes great responsibility?” Does that only apply to Spiderman?

Judge Patten was appointed by the Governor’s Council in October 2014, after being nominated to the bench by Governor Deval Patrick. He was previously an Essex County ADA who had prosecuted some serious criminals. You’d think that someone with experience prosecuting shitbags would carry over that philosophy once on the bench. But apparently turning into a judge completely changes who you are and what you stand for in this state.

Not Judge Patten’s first time being lenient with violent criminals who attack police officers:

A man who allegedly assaulted seven Revere Police officers, sending two to the hospital, and damaged a booking room metal detector was held on high bail at his arraignment today, Suffolk County District Attorney Daniel F. Conley said. JOSEPH M. PARKER (D.O.B. 3/25/81), who claims addresses in Wakefield and Malden, was arraigned today on charges of assault and battery, assault and battery on a police officer, malicious destruction of property, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest for his alleged actions on Revere Beach Parkway and at Revere Police headquarters early this morning.

Assistant District Attorney Vincent J. DeMore recommended that he be held on $50,000 cash bail; Chelsea District Court Judge Michael Patten set bail at $25,000.

At about 12:40 this morning, prosecutors say, two Revere Police officers were working a detail on Revere Beach Parkway near Mill Street. One of them, a lieutenant, stopped traffic as construction workers removed traffic cones from the roadway. Parker allegedly stopped short in front of the lieutenant, rolled down his window, and said, “I know why you stopped me.” He then allegedly exited the vehicle, began shouting expletives, and struck the officer, knocking the lieutenant to the ground and causing him to hit his head. He then allegedly began to move toward the second officer.

Seven freaking cops. The asshole assaulted SEVEN FREAKING COPS. And he walks on $25,000 cash bail, because obviously someone like this isn’t a danger to society.

These moonbat judges should be charged as accessories before the fact.

Heck, I’d settle for civil liability.

The chance to remove the monthly kiss in the mail would possibility make the black robed campaign donors think once, maybe twice.

You think you hate our system now? Wait until you see the results form the “new and improved” criminal justice reform bill. It’s Maura Healy’s dream come true. And where’s the governor? Praising the bill’s passage the day 125 executed Sean Gannon, what a complete fucking douchenozzle. Police should be outraged at what the Mass legislature just did to them. Thanks Moonbats!

So Turtlesack would make what the killer did completely legal under the 2nd Amendment but now complains because the strict laws they don’t like weren’t enforced. You can’t make this turtle shit up.

    Illegal Possession of a Firearm

In Massachusetts, gun possession is highly regulated and firearm crimes are strictly enforced.

Unless you fit into one of the narrow statutory exemptions, under MGL c. 269 s. 10, you face a mandatory minimum 18 months in jail, up to 5 years in state prison, if you do:

1.Knowingly possess, or knowingly have in your control in a vehicle
    2.A firearm, loaded or unloaded

    WITHOUT either:

1.being present in your residence or place of business; or
    2.having in effect a license to carry firearms issued under MGL c. 140 s. 131 or MGL c. 140 s. 131F; or
    3.having complied with the provisions of MGL c. 140 s. 129C and MGL c. 140 s. 131G; or
4.having complied as to possession of an air rifle or BB gun and while
•knowingly in possession, or knowingly in control in a vehicle
    •of a shotgun or rifle
•without any of the foregoing exceptions; or
•without having in effect a firearms identification card issued under MGL c. 140 s. 129B.

I guess its not so mandatory after all

Ooohhhhh weeeee. There’s some liberal down-votin going on in here ta’night.

What we got here is failure to communicate. Then ya get what we had here last week. Which is the way he wants it…he gets it. I don’t like it any more than you may.

What this judge did is straight out of the Democrat playbook: create a problem so they can swoop in and act like heroes. All so they can take more of your liberty away, because they know better than you.

In this latest example, an unlicensed person is caught with illegal guns and ammunition. So what does this liberal Judge Michael Patten do? Why, refuse to hold the crook accountable and let him go free, of course!

So the criminal shoots a Massachusetts peace officer 30 days later. Now Maura Healey– who did nothing to prevent this– gets to campaign against “assault weapons” and lecture law-abiding firearms owners how we “need” to repeal the Second Amendment.

“You’d think that someone with experience prosecuting shitbags would carry over that philosophy once on the bench.“

That’s probably what Deval Patrick thought too. That’s why implying that Patrick bears some responsibility here is so absurd.

    • z
      April 25, 2018 at 8:57 pm

Most likely Patrick, Baker and those who came before and those who will come after get a list and a whisper in the ear about who to pick.

So and so is friends of so and so and we need this guys vote. So, pick his guy or gal for a judgeship. You trust your advisers to not fuck up. Sometimes they do. But make a habit out of bad picks and yeah, you the governor aren’t a good judge of character of your advisers and they aren’t a good judge of character of their short lists to the governor.

It sucks what happened. If a judge is a consistent ass wipe then the judge is the problem. If stuff like this happens rarely for a particular judge then the judge is only human and humans make mistakes even if the consequences are horrible. I know if I was the judge and this happened, it would tear me apart inside and would make me rule differently in the future. Patrick pick or not, I hope this is eating at the judge and he will do better next time.

He was “carrying” guns in his trunk? That must be a might big trunk, if he can carry around guns inside it.

Also odd that they were improperly stored while he was carrying them.

But it’s perfectly acceptable for your advertiser to sell guns that the Attorney General has deemed are unsafe.

Would you like to buy a clue?

No, but I’d like to buy you a one way ticket to France, and you can go fuck yourself the whole time it takes to get there, and then continue fucking yourself until you receive further instructions to fuck yourself.

      April 25, 2018 at 8:43 pm

A clue? I don’t need one but I’ll give you one for free.
“Carrying” a gun doesn’t mean it’s in your hands dummy. You are technically “carrying” a gun if it’s in your car, and if it’s not on your person it needs to be locked in a case or trigger locked with the ammo in a separate case.
Ok here’s another clue…I’m feeling generous.
Maura Healy is a mendacious hack. So one woman deemed my rifle “unsafe” and she has no clue what it is or ever fired it? Thats dangerously idiotic and you’re just as stupid.
Before you open your ridiculous pie hole, maybe learn something.

      April 25, 2018 at 9:23 pm

Speaking of clues. Do you have any idea how convoluted and shitty mass gun laws are? Nope, and I’m not even going to get into what made those guns illegal in the AG’s eyes.. Chances are you have zero clue. Try again soon.

  • redfish

In most other states, what he was doing is legal. The pistol was disassembled, and from the description above, was not loaded. The lame ass media is trying to portray a “Loaded magazine” as if the gun itself was loaded. Two magazines do not make 2 guns, read the description again.

What’s more interesting is how a search of the vehicle came about, and under what probable cause.

Here in the people’s republik of MA, even possession of a firearm is illegal without a permission slip from your local chief of police (who can deny on a whim, without recourse) to exercise an enumerated right.

So, scumbag gets pulled over anywhere else (except NY, let’s not even go there) and this is a non-issue. Some judges realize how fucked up some of this stuff is here, so I can see his side, somewhat, for releasing an out-of-stater.

I’m not defending the fuckwit cop killer here, just offering some perspective. If Patten had locked him up, it would have just delayed the inevitable. He would have gotten out, and sooner or later shot someone anyway. But hey, MA, pass another law- he won’t abide by it, either…

Inventory (or probable cause) search there fella.

Car was being towed for the accident/he was OUI (drugs).

Vehicle must be searched and inventoried for valuables prior to tow, trunk included as it would be accessible by tow truck company after tow.

Very simple, no convoluted constitutional issues or rights involved.

      • Frustrated with MA Liberals
        April 26, 2018 at 7:47 am

The probable cause for the search was the ‘possession of a class B-substance”. If you are familiar with the ‘wonderful state of MA’ and the restrictions they like to place on their ‘law abiding citizens’ on July 20, 2016 Section 121 of the gun laws state it is illegal to possess a magazine capable of holding more than 10 rounds – it is considered ‘high capacity’ and restricted (there are a few pre-ban exceptions that go back but I highly doubt those qualified). He possessed 2 of those. Even if he was a ‘legal’ gun owner he actually would have been in violation. Not to mention…he was under the influence and in possession of a firearm! That isn’t legal in ANY state… License to Carry necessary or Not. There is no way of getting around the fact that this guy should have been behind bars. I am sure you agree how Amazing it is how people are preaching about stricter gun laws however they let these criminals violating them walk All The Time!! Incredible!! I don’t see kids walking out of class for this one!! I wish all of the kids of police officers and public servants around the country would stand up for this one!!!

Maine has constitutional carry laws . He should have not had them in Massachusetts , but was legal in Maine .
Yes the appointment for life Judge Job in Ma. Is a joke . What happened to the truth in sentence law ? One year mandatory for an illegal gun . When was the last time that law was used ? They always plea deal it down .

In states where they elect judges, the judges can have their paws out to get what they can just in case they don’t get reelected.

Either way, the backroom politicians are involved.

The guy was most likely selling/ trading those guns for Heroin. I’ve spent a good deal of time in ME, and northern NH, and the combination of people (who are already a bit off) and Heroin, makes for a dangerous combination. Northern VT is in the same boat, although I frequent that area less often. It’s a shame, their natural beauty is amazing.

Just think if a few hundred of these kind of people at the exact same time did this and stuck together. It would look like a scene from Resident Evil or World War Z.

I leave out the Walking Dead because they move kind of slow.

Maybe we are living in the scenes from these movies. Has anyone checked to how much brain activity is going on inside their noggins?

Ok, you shot the cop. What’s your next move, leaving out shooting more cops and innocent bystanders?

Guatemala? Bolivia, and re-enact scenes from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid?
Successfully live on the lam until you are in your 70s?
