So this happened at Elm Park today:

We spoke to the woman who posted this on Facebook. She told us she brought it to the attention of a city worker at Elm Park who told her it was a squireel. That is clearly not a squirrel. It lacks a bushy tail, it’s not grey, and it’s also much bigger than a squirrel. Looks a lot like a chihuahua though. They refused to do anything about it. So she offered to go back several hours later to see if it was still there. And low and behold……

This is why Worcester can’t have nice things. Because we hire lazy assholes to work for the city. I saw it all the time working as a lifeguard. I know there are many hard working people for the city, but even they know damn well there are PLENTY of well connected assholes who spend the entire day figuring out ways to do NOTHING. This is what your tax dollars pay for. They pay for people who let dead dogs sit in Elm Park pond all day. And when people bring it to their attention they say it’s a squirrel.

Oh, and let’s not forget the fact that this dog likely has an owner who is looking for them. Wouldn’t wanna fish the poor thing out of there to find out who there is. That would require actual work.

This is what Joe Petty’s Worcester looks like people. Dead dogs in parks. Yet on his reelection campaign flyer he’s bragging about all this money he’s invested in parks:

How are you investing in parks if you’re paying people who are too lazy to fish dead dogs out of parks? And this isn’t just any park – it’s ELM FREAKING PARK!! It’s the oldest park in the United States of America!! It’s where I learned how to ride a bike. And under his failed leadership it’s been taken over by junkies and criminals.

Meanwhile, here’s what he said in his inaugural address in 2016:

“Part of having healthy and active students, parents and residents is through the cultivation of our parks. We all take pride in our parks and for a number of years we have had a concerted effort to create conservation land and open space in our city. It is time that we treat our Blue Space as we treat our Green Space. I am calling for an innovative program in our Parks Department that will bring the people of Worcester to our water and the water to the people.

Yea, he actually said that. He takes “pride in our parks.” Because what’s not to be proud of? It’s not like there’s dead dogs in Elm Park or anything like that. Just another one of his bullshit initiatives that he told people because it sounded good. Meanwhile he’s allowing this to happen. Sure, he’ll probably make a phone call as soon as he sees this and get that poor thing out of there. But why does it take Turtleboy to make him do his job? No wonder he went on to say this later in his speech:

“And yet the (negative) perception persists, sustained by self- serving political rhetoric and the angry grumblings of the talk radio set and the BLOG-osphere.”

Yea Turtleboy, how dare you call the leader of the city out on his bullshit!! Don’t listen to Turtleboy everyone!! Everything is going great!! We opened up a new chain restaurant in Webster Square!!

And look at all these big ribbons I cut with Uncle Jimmy McGovern, Fast Eddy Augustus, and Titi Ho Rivera:

That’s good right? We’re moving the city forward!! Everyone wants to move here now!!

No wonder this guy secretly calls his supporters morons when he thinks his microphone isn’t on.

Hey Joe, just do yourself a favor and resign now. Suspend your failed reelection campaign. Your time is up. It’s time for new leadership in Worcester. It’s time for Michael T. Gaffney. A guy who who has been cleaning up Worcester for months now, along with his spouse and District 4 Council candidate Coreen Gaffney, while you’re making Worcester a sanctuary city and cutting ribbons. Don’t make us overthrow you and embarrass you at the polls in November. Easy way and a hard way.

Can I simply say what a comfort to uncover somebody that
actually knows what they’re discussing on the net. You certainly realize how to
bring a problem to light and make it important.
A lot more people really need to look at this and understand this side of your story.
I can’t believe you’re not more popular given that you definitely have the
    gift.

It’s a freaking squirrel. Even so, it should’ve been removed.

oh, yeah – Petty’s got to go.

It’s not a dog. Look at the paws. Long finger structure useful for climbing.

This is definitely a squirrel! Just look at the paws. They are tiny, long with claws. A squirrel floating in water for a few days would be bloated and look this big. And sure the worker could have fished out the dead squirrel but dead animals in the city really falls under animal control to clean up…

Push it down with a stick.

It’ll just float back up to the top again. You have to weigh it down with something. Maybe collect all the needles in the area into a bag and duct-tape it to the carcass. There’s gotta be something they can use from all that trash collected from under the overpass.

We used to play ” chase the kid with a used rubber on a stick” game growing up in the Woo as well.

Can’t blame the ACO. He probably doesn’t have a Level 3 HazMat suit, which is required to retrieve that carcass and not catch anything in the process.

Call one of the local Chinese restaurants and tell them free meat is chillin in the pond if they’ll come and get it. Problem solved. Enough there to make a few orders of General Gao’s.

No matter what it was could it be that difficult for a city worker to remove it from the pond? Do you really want the dead carcass of anything floating around in a downtown pond? Come on guys, do your dam job !!
Unfortunately for me I pay your salary.

Sadly there’s a lot of stray cats and dogs in Worcester. Or maybe someone
didn’t want their poor dog anymore…hope they find the owner if it had one.

No,Pubics, the city has an ‘Animal Control’ dept. This falls under THIER purvue. If it happens that this was abuse, then the A.C.O. and possibly the M.S.P.C.A. Police need to be involved. Thats part of the ‘services’ provided with tax dollars, paid by taxpayers, pay them for.Even fupaloopa’s who don’t pay into the system get to reap even these benifts. God bless the U.S.A.
