WMUR: A woman is facing charges after police said she left her infant unattended in a car Tuesday night, but the woman called the whole thing a misunderstanding. Jena Bertone, 27, faces charges including child endangerment. She was arrested at about 11:15 p.m.  Responding officers found the baby in a car outside a Glen Street home, police said. The car’s front windows were reportedly down and extremely loud music was playing. Officers said the baby was sweating but was responsive.

“The officers were very concerned, and their observations of the child were that the child was in distress, so as a result, they took whatever action they needed to take,” Chief David Goldstein said.

Police said Bertone was under the influence of alcohol at the time of her arrest. Bertone told News 9 that her baby hadn’t been feeling well, and the car helps her sleep.

“I also work more than 40 hours a week as an (licensed nursing assistant),” Bertone said. “I take care of other people for my job, so this is very unfortunate, and I feel terrible that people are feeling this way about me or people would think I would ever do anything to hurt either one of my girls, because I wouldn’t.”

Police said it took them 10 minutes to find the child’s mother, but Bertone refuted that. She said she was told she had to move boxes out of her building’s basement, so she was moving them to her neighbor’s house and constantly checking on her daughter during that process.

“She was in the car maybe five minutes before the police showed up here, and they were here for 10 minutes,” Bertone said.

Bertone also said that while the car wasn’t running, the key was turned in the ignition and the air conditioner was on.

“I take care of my children,” she said. “They’re everything to me. They’re the reason why I do everything.”

Witnesses told officers that the baby had been left alone in the car for a third straight night Tuesday. Bertone will appear in court on Aug. 20. Her two daughters are now with relatives. Bertone said she hopes the charges will be dropped.

OF COURSE she’s a CNA!! She even made flashcards for the test!

So you know she’s legit. I guess they didn’t teach her in night school that you’re not supposed to leave your child unattended in a hot car several nights in a row. Good thing she works in the medial field.

This was my favorite part:

Oh yea, everyone knows that the cure for a sick baby is to leave them unattended in a hot car in the middle of July.

And this makes TONS of sense:

Wait…..she turned the AC on while the windows were……down? Huh? And according to the cops (who are liars according to mom) the child was in distress. So obviously her medical opinion that the child’s sickness could be cured by sitting alone in a hot car with the AC running and windows down did not work out as planned.

Guess that scenario wasn’t on a flash card.

Oh, and these two FACKS certainly add credence to her story…

1. Police said Bertone was under the influence of alcohol at the time of her arrest. 
2. She said she was told she had to move boxes out of her building’s basement, so she was moving them to her neighbor’s house and constantly checking on her daughter during that process.

I know sometimes I liked to get drunk, leave my kids alone in a car, and move some boxes up and down stairs. Alcohol makes everything better, including moving.

And this adds up:

So let me get this straight. You left her in the car alone for five minutes. And during that time a neighbor noticed it, called the cops, and they got to your house? Oh yea, that’s believable.

Meanwhile her Facebook page is like a high school chick going through a bad breakup:

“All guys suck. Womp, womp. I’m so strong. Womp, womp. Muh feelz. Womp, womp.”

Of course the “fake news” patrol has her back:

Don’t worry Joel, I’ll never, ever find myself in a predicament like this. Because you won’t see me leaving my kids alone in a car while I do the shitfaced shuffle on a hot summer night.
