Here’s a fun story out of Greenfield High School:
First of all, why are Greenfield kids trying to act hard? Bitch, you live in Greenfield. Franklin freaking County. Hippie town USA. You can’t possibly come from up there and be a hard ass. Sure, Greenfield has some dumpy parts that we saw on our bone ride through Franklin County, especially the closer you get to Turner Falls
but overall Greenfield is a pretty nice place.
You can’t live there and be a bad ass. So just stop with that nonsense right now kids.
Anyway, I thought this story was interesting because of all the talk about cops in schools which has been going on for the last year. Do you need any more proof about what a good thing cops in schools are? These kids were wilin’ out at 7:45 AM. That’s too early to be wilin’ out. Most teachers haven’t even had their second cup of coffee yet. It’s not realistic to ask them to break up some brawl between a bunch of kids who think they’re thug life. Luckily the cop was there to restore order and put the criminals in handcuffs.
Naturally there are some hippies whining about how excessive it is to arrest these kids, but at least none of them used Ol Man Gordon Davis’ favorite phrase – “school to prison pipeline.”
With what money are they supposed to pay? Their parents’ money of course. Maybe once their parents have to take money out of their wallet they’ll actually start disciplining their kids so the cops don’t have to.
And since when it is the cops’ problem about whether or not arresting them makes their life easier? Ya know what’s a great way not to get a criminal record? Don’t fight in school. Don’t hit teachers. Don’t hit cops. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – anyone who fights in school doesn’t REALLY wanna fight. If you really wanna fight you take that shit to the woods after school where you know teachers won’t break it up in five seconds. Anyone who fights in school is doing it for the theater and the street cred. But they’re certainly not doing it because they wanna fight.
Wow, you’re so hardcore Hannah. Way to show those stupid teachers who the boss is!! Express yo self girlfriend!! Shocking, because I would’ve sworn she was an honors student.
Anyone who still feels like they have a bone to pick with a high school teacher because the teacher was mean to them is pretty much the definition of a loser.
Of course you thought you had free speech. Because when you were yelling at your teachers for trying to make you learn, other kids were being taught about what the first amendment is and is not. It protects you from government persecution of free speech. It certainly doesn’t protect asshole kids from swearing at police officers.
Yes Timmy, punishment is what parents are for. The problem here is clearly that the parents have failed in their duty to not raise savages. And putting them in courts is not an admission that we don’t know how to deal with them. To the contrary, we’re putting them in courts because it’s the only thing that will teach them a valuable lesson. Some dumbass kids think that laws magically cease to exist because they are on school grounds. But if you get in a fight at the movie theater and you hit a cop in the process, your ass is going to jail. That doesn’t change because you’re walking into Greenfield High School.
Yea, let’s just break it up and send them on their merry way. So a couple teachers got hit. Big deal. Boys will be boys.
Tangent: This is one of Katie’s profile photos on Facebook. It’s still up. But our page gets pulled down for telling people to turn on the radio. Makes sense.
Anyway, cops in school are obviously a good thing. It’s pretty much undeniable at this point. Anyone who doesn’t want them there wants teachers and students to get hurt, which by definition makes them a slug rake. End of story.
