So we’ve had a grand total of about 5 inches of snow this winter, but yet somehow the City of Worcester has managed to find a way to screw it up in spectacular fashion. The first time we got two inches and they just decided not to plow at all. The second time we got an inch or so and they decided not to sand at all. As a result there were five million accidents on both nights. But last night might’ve been their grandest screw up of all. Ya see, here is what they texted out, tweeted, and put on Facebook Sunday night (Monday morning) at 1:02 AM:

12540616_10154482487288222_6617203322653288967_n

Ya got that? They sent out a message at 1:02 AM telling people that they were activating the winter parking ban 92 minutes in the past. So all you had to do was get in your time machine and and move your car and it wouldn’t be a problem. Oh yea, and you had to be awake too. Because everyone is awake at 1:02 AM.

The email to city residents came out much, much later:

Screen Shot 2016-01-18 at 9.19.59 PM

Hundreds of people woke and read that email, then looked outside and found out there car was gone. Never mind the fact that it didn’t really even snow last night, but the timing was spectrally terrible, even for the city of Worcester’s standards. I mean, how freaking incompetent are Ed Augustus and Paul Moosey? How do these IDIOTS have jobs? How hard is it to not screw up so massively every time it snows a little bit? If Mike Gaffney were Mayor, both of them would’ve been fired weeks ago. But instead we have Mayor Mushmouth taking photographs and giving out awards to illegal pirate radio stations instead of holding his idiot friends accountable for their gross incompetence.

Over 300 people had their cars towed last night, hundreds more were ticketed, and we were embarrassed by our leadership on the Channel 7 News. (watch the video in that link) And these meatsticks think people wanna move to Worcester? Why? So we can get our cars towed in the middle of the night and pay for it ourselves?

Screen Shot 2016-01-18 at 4.54.34 PM

Some people are blaming the people who got their cars towed, which is the dumbest thing Turtleboy has ever heard. If the parking ban isn’t in effect, you are free to park where you please. All 300 or so people who had their cars towed were playing by the rules. Then they went to bed because they had to work in the morning, and they woke up and found that Ed Augustus stole their car and wanted $132 for it.

Rumor is the city might be picking up the tab for all these tows. Lots of Clark students had their cars towed, and no one is gonna wanna come to school here if this is how they treat the Blarney Stone’s finest. But under no circumstances should the city, AKA the taxpayers, be paying for this. Fast Eddy makes $200,000 a year, and Moosey makes $150K as head of the DPW. Both of these lugnuts should be paying for all these tows OUT OF THEIR OWN POCKETS!! After all, they got pretty deep pockets. These are the same ultra-progressives who are always railing on the rich for screwing over the common man. If they don’t pay for each and every one of these tows, it basically proves that liberal folks around here are completely full of shit. Ed Augustus lives in Millis, so he doesn’t have to worry about his car getting towed. But the rest of us schlubs do.

They once again admitted that they fucked up, and have forgiven all the ticketed cars:

12439140_10154482354563222_820406999838872410_n

Oh look, more excuses from the highest paid person in Worcester. He didn’t have “ample time” to communicate the parking ban? You put the ban in effect at 11:30, started towing cars immediately, and then told everyone at 1:02 AM when they were all sleeping. Another lame ass, non-apology from the gutless wonder himself, Ed Augustus.

Hey Ed, you need to resign brotha. You are beyond sucky and under qualified for your job. I’m sure you’ll land on your feet and Tim Murray or one of your other Beacon Hill buddies will hook you up with a six figure, no-show job. But you obviously are not fit to be the City Manager of Worcester. And you’re next on our list. We just took down a School Committee member in Spencer and a Telegram blogger with reptile on the brain this week. We have no problem taking you down too. Do the honorable thing and resign now. Don’t make us take you down.

P.S. There was also an ambulance crash last night due to the shitty job the city did once again. Shocking, I know.

Kind of a clever move, if you think about it: get all the cars off the road, plow the roads, then provide amnesty. You gotta admit that everything was plowed pretty damn well this time around! We’ll see how Friday goes.

Wow, Ed Agustus is way out of his league. The guy couldn’t manage a lemonade stand. And that picture of the award presentation to the illegal pirate radio station is priceless. Mike Moore who took over the senate seat that fast Eddie held and is double dipping with two state pensions really looks like the dolt that he sounds like.

And yet the 15+ cars that park in the permanent overnight ban section on Vernon Street EVERY NIGHT all winter never get ticketed or towed?

      January 19, 2016 at 4:26 pm

Vernon Hill has become a shit hole. I’m cringe every time I go back to my old neighborhood. And yes, it’s due primarily to the ilk of people that moved in, mostly on public assistance, mostly not thankful, and mostly trash the dwellings. And I don’t care if the landlords moved out (can’t blame them)…. you still don’t trash the neighborhood and commit crimes in the neighborhood – useless, non-contributing members of society.

Thanks Liberals & Democrats for making my old neighborhood the dump it turned into.

You’re right, you can’t blame the people who own the properties and have control over who rents the units. Must be the government’s fault!

        • IgnoranceBreedsIgnorance
          January 20, 2016 at 9:41 am

DO people have control over who they rent to? There are things called the Equal Housing Opportunity. You can’t deny housing to people if they can pay! And a previous landlord could give a good reference, hoping that the scum will move out of their property. Then, once they’re in your home and trashing it, it is nearly impossible to evict anyone. How about we blame the fricken tenants and no one else?? Personal accountability is something that is lost these days. Feck.

  • January 19, 2016 at 10:28 am

Wait you have been living in Worcester for how long and still don’t know that usually there is a parking ban when it snows?

    • Angel
      January 19, 2016 at 10:38 am

Key word – USUALLY. That’s doesn’t mean ALWAYS. There are people who don’t move their cars until they know for sure a ban has been put into effect because they really have no where to move their cars TO.

  • Nanny
    January 19, 2016 at 8:56 am

I’m sure the “reputable” tow companies will forfeit their tow and storage fees. Yeah, right.

Lesson here is to pay attention to the forecast in winter in Worcester. Those of us who have lived here for a while get this. It’s 2.5 months of this, kids. Not asking a lot. Pay attention. You’ve seen the consequences of not paying attention.

It is strange, however, that none of the cars parked on the West Side streets got towed. There were 3 on my street. Plows went right around.

    • Angel
      January 19, 2016 at 9:47 am

That’s not true. I know of at least three cars that got towed from a West side street.

      • Nanny
        January 19, 2016 at 8:09 pm

Fair enough. None got towed in the Midland St. area that I’m aware of.

I’d be interested in the enforcement breakdown by ward and precinct.

It is infuriating to think that it isn’t a requirement to be a resident of the city one is so-called managing. All his ass is doing is fucking it over! I am signed up for alerts and mine came through mid-morning yesterday. I kid you not. People shouldn’t be expected to assume the ban will go into effect. We have had 3+ inches and the fucktard don’t declare it.

Does the City Manager really live in Millis? Is he planning on moving to the city?

    • WackyHonky
      January 19, 2016 at 7:26 am

He does, and the DPW guy lives in Sturbridge.
For all the jokers who live next door to me and park on the street despite a permanent winter ban, AND right on the edge of my driveway so plows dump a massive load there going around your car- the excess loads are getting shoveled in front of your car. Go ahead, call the city- they will tow your UNLICENSED and UNINSPECTED vehicle. And thanks for pigging out the neighborhood with trans fluid and oil all over the street from your attempts at repairs on your car and your friends vehicles and trash on your unmowed lawn. Maybe if you got off yer ass and cut down some brush on your half acre of land you could park there like the former owners did!

Does Eddie really get paid $200,000 to blow Petty in the City Hall Men’s Room? I know it’s a tough drive in from Millis but that’s a lot of money for knee pads, wow.

    • BobnMic
      January 19, 2016 at 3:54 am

Hey it is NOT the Cops fault city hall does not have their shit together. Let us not start blaming Cops for the ineptitudes of city management and DPW failures. That is very unfair and unjust. If Cops are forced into an over time situation based on poor judgement from city hall planning then the onus goes to the city manager first and foremost.

      • Rational person
        January 19, 2016 at 10:54 am

I don’t think Judge was blaming the cops. It seemed more like a musing about how much $$$ was spent on overtime.

  • tudor turtle

to sum it all up, “what we have here, is failure to communicate” .

  • BobnMic
    January 18, 2016 at 11:17 pm

I hate the overuse of the word “amazing.” A lot of young women put that word into use in just about every sentence they speak. It’s kinda cute when they do that but a little silly. Example: “I went to the store the other day and bought some bread and it was amazing!” Or, “I needed some gas in my car so I went to the gas station and on my way I saw the most amazing thing, other cars needed gas too!”

No no no and no. I will describe the incompetence of city government here in Worcester as amazing. Because that is exactly what it is. Amazing. How can they be so good at doing the opposite of what should be done? I mean come on really? Really? The stupidity is truly amazing. That’s a proper use of the word, amazing.

We got the phone call at 6 PM. This was plenty of time. Since we do not have time to go on Twitter, I guess we lucked out. Maybe you Twitter people could actually, gasp, sign up to get phone alerts instead…..or even look at the forecast and move your cars without having your hand held.

    • mandi
      January 19, 2016 at 1:31 pm

if the parking ban is not in effect we have the right to park where ever we want. It didn’t go into effect until 11:30 when most people are sleeping therefore that didn’t
leave many people time to move their car.
