Ed Augustus and crew were talking a big game about super storm Stella. They even called up all the local media outlets and WCVB and brought them to their multi-million dollar command center where they’d get automatic notifications when a road needed plowing.

Fast Eddie felt like a super star.

In the zone!!

He obviously called in the Boston media, because, why else would they be there? He wanted some positive press to show off all his new toys and justify the fact that he made $243,000 last year despite being incompetent and unqualified for his job.

17308971_1453933294641661_7891516843373481313_n

Meanwhile they’re bragging about the stellar job they’re doing on social media:

Before the storm Augustus and his incompetent lackey DPW chief Paul Moosey, who lives in Sturbridge and makes $150,000 a year, held a press conference to talk about how prepared they were going to be:

So with all this publicity and hub-a-ba-loo you would think they’d do a good job. Let’s see how it looks in Worcester……

Here’s the area right near Elm Park Elementary School:

Here’s Grafton Hill:

Here’s Indian Hill:

Here’s what it looks like driving on Andover Street, or pretty much any of the streets that connect West Boylston and Burncoat Street:

And here’s what it looks like crossing the Holden/Worcester line on Reservoir Road.

This is what two guys making over $400,000 a year, and a multi-million dollar storm command center gets you. Both Moosey and Augustus not only kept their jobs due to their repeated incompetence, they’ve gotten raises. Big raises too. Imagine being this bad at your job and getting rewarded for it because your boss is Joe Petty and you’re protected as a loyal foot soldier in the McGovern Crime Family. Must be nice.

Hey, here’s an idea Worcester – let’s vote out every City Councilor that voted to give Ed Augustus a raise. That would be all of them except for Konnie Lukes and Mike Gaffney. Seriously, if you care about your city then run for office. The only reason idiots like Kate Toomey, Mo Bergman, Tony Economou, Sarai Rivera, Khrystian King, George Russell, Candy Carlson, and Petty get elected is because good leaders don’t run good campaigns against them. So yea, either keep whining about your tax dollars being wasted on this bullshit or step up to the plate and do something about it. Your call.

What? Do you think that O’Brien is still the City Manager and Moylan is still the DPW Chief?

To paraphrase Rachel Madcow: You are not sleeping and this is not a nightmare. This is the new reality.
Ed Augustus is the City Manager.
    Joe Petty is the Mayor.
Paul Moosey is the DPW Chief.

    Live with it!

I agree that they need 5 or 10 big screen televisions to see how the weather is progressing. After all, no one can look out the window to see for themselves..

We can’t get rid of Moosey. He’s the only person who can simultaneously watch monitors in the storm center that are at opposite ends of the room.

Ohhh, I totally agree, TB. I thought about snapping pics and sending them to you, but I didn’t know if you were going to beat this dead horse again. Vernon Hill was a disaster!!! However, I must say that plowing around all those tenants cars in the street must be a nightmare. However, Olean Street heading down to the reservoir road was an ABSOLUTE SHIT SHOW LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON….UNTIL you hit Holden. Then it was down to the ground. Worcester sucks. That’s why Ed doesn’t live here.

the side roads in both Holden and Paxton were the typical shit shows after a big storm, ditto Shrewsbury Millbury. And if I see another private plow pushing snow into the street on Vernon and June. Or the gutter slugs shoveling into the streets,…

This sow storm was treated like no other this year. AWFUL. The clowns in DPW, Moosey and Labavites need to go. Special Ed should get a piss poor review for holding onto these 2 missfits.
Just NO EXCUSE , they had more than their chance to make it right and fucked it up.

Not again! More whining about snowy streets after a big snowstorm? Lived in Worcester for multiple decades, Snow removal has pretty much remained consistent over that time.

This service to the community during a block busting snow storm was never this inattentive during the O’Brien, Hoover and Mulford administrations. I’ll even go back as far as Francis J. McGrath.

So now these numbnuts are making more money than any one of the past City Managers. And the service provided is failing? WTF? I know public safety in and of itself is top notch. But not plowing snow IS a public safety issue and people can get hurt or killed. Some people do not have the luxury to sit at home from work because of bad weather. That is a reality.

      March 16, 2017 at 7:59 pm

You should have seen the snow removal during the Woodrow Wilson administration. Bob and I put on our spats and danced on top of flagpoles while the dirty Irishmen shoveled every damn sidewalk and cow path- snow, horse droppings, cigar ash- all right into the horse drawn wagons. They later dropped all that filth in what is now the vicinity of Lambert Circle.

It’s really too bad that Wilson character was a Democrat!

Generally the roads in Worcester looked fine given the amount of snow and number of roads and dense neighborhoods. . Now we personally witnessed at least 7 or 8 pickups plowing snow into the road from private driveways. Only a serious ass wipe does that and results in snow in the roads.

    March 16, 2017 at 5:36 pm

If only Gaffney were Mayor!! He would magically make the snow disappear soon after falling. Oh how I admire his Trump-like can do spirit! Maybe he could appoint TB as DPW coordinator too!

Abortion sandwiches get a bad rap. They are really quite tasty. A little tobacco sauce which I ALWAYS carry with me…

    Thanks TB!
Seems like your shaming worked out. Plows have been going over my street (Woodland) and now it’s in great shape. Mind you, the storm was two days ago but I’ll take those baby steps over the FU treatment that the city usually delivers.

I just did a ” short cut” through Great Brook Valley. I’m pis*ed… hopefully you have AWD because my car had to drive up over mounds of snow still on the street!!! Ridiculous! And yesterday I got stuck on Illinois St and a nice kid pushed me out! Sadly I only have front wheel drive which isn’t good enough for Worcester !

  • Nancy
    March 16, 2017 at 3:36 pm

They should have used that money in the plowing budget where it is needed – they did another amazingly crappy job – what does it take to get the job done right? West Street, a major north/south thoroughfare was one lane from Elm Street to Pleasant Street today, you can’t drive over Andover Street for crying out loud. How I long for the days of Bob Moylan….

    • Retired
      March 16, 2017 at 5:06 pm

Bob Moylan would have told you hoodrats that you can’t drive in Massachusetts in winter in hoopties with bald tires, which is what 80% of youwere doing.

Look it up. And he is correct. If you can’t afford tires, do not drive in winter or move south.

They get top pay and can’t even live in Worcester. Guess who finances their cushy lifestyles elsewhere ?

    • Buntanyo
      March 16, 2017 at 3:40 pm

How come these flopdicks that plow the side streets, only do so in a single lane down the fucking middle?! It was a 2 way road, with cars parked on both sides….now it’s a 0.75 way road with 8 feet worth of snowbank on either side. Hey numnuts, afraid you’re going to damage your pickelsmoochin plow on the sidewalk? Even stood there with a fucking shovel while the guy drove by, to show him where the damn side walk was….think that mattered? Not one fucking bit. Where is the common sense…?

  • Ed Moosey
    March 16, 2017 at 3:14 pm

My stache looked GREAT on the news!! It was nice to see the command center too. First time I’ve ever been there. I probably should check it out more often, but that would mean I’d hve to leave Sturbridge… And Worcester is such a shit hole! They really should plow better. Whoever is in charge of the plows should be FIRED! Luckily I’m in this sweet no-show gig at the DPW. (I should learn what that means… I was so embarrassed when I went to Burgess Elementary and the teacher asked me to explain what DPW is…)

burncoat street area is a fucking joke. 11pm last night and I got stuck on pocasset st- TWICE. Whoever that crew is needs a shovel to the fucking face. You know how much fun it is busting your ass for 30 minutes in that cold trying to get off a patch of ice and frozen snow only to think you’re in the clear and get caught again cause 20 ft down the road?? Immediately hit another untouched section in the middle of the road of 6” deep of frozen fucking bullshit. My front bumper picked up a good amount of what was left at least before coming to a hault… lazy fucks

  • Ed Augustus
    March 16, 2017 at 3:09 pm

Well I might not be able to get the streets clear but boy did Moosey and I throw one hell of a lan party. How could I resist with all those state of the art monitors and computers? We played League of Legends all night long so sorry if the plows missed a few streets. Turtleboy should report on how good I am at League instead of these non issues!

So I’m sitting here alone tonight, like most nights. Well, like every night. I think I have mice, if you can count them as pets. So, I’m sitting here eating my prune, turnips & baby corn soup, And I have a revelation! As I’m looking down at the little baby corn I’m reminded that Wednesday is the day I clean away the dry skin around the head of my penis. So I break out the nail clipper and file. Well, long story short I remembered I had a cat because I look down and sure enough there he is eating the little skin fragments. So I’m not nearly as alone as I thought. Cheers everybody!
