Everyone and their mother is talking about teachers carrying guns. It’s literally all I’m seeing on my Facebook and Twitter feeds. Personally, we like to avoid politics as much as possible, but it’s pretty unavoidable at this point so lets talk about it. I think it’s a dumb idea and will create more problems and more fatalities than we currently have. Here’s why……

  • Teachers by and far don’t want guns in school. Most teachers are liberals. They’re not the gun type.
  • Have you seen some of the teachers at your kid’s schools? Do you remember some of the weirdos you had in your elective classes? Especially the art and French teachers? You wanna give some of these people guns? Just no.
  • What happens if no teachers at your kid’s school feel comfortable with a gun in their class? Are we gonna make them carry guns? Because if not then we’re right where we started.
  • There are millions of public school teachers in this country, and tens of millions of students. Do you understand how many incidents involving guns there will be if teachers are armed in every building? Sure, most teachers with guns would likely be responsible and carry it on their person. But if just 0.01% of teachers weren’t responsible, or kept their gun in their desk when they went to lunch, that would be 320 times a gun would get into the hands of the wrong person.
  • You see all the time trained police officers getting their guns stolen from them by criminals. Those are cops. Generally speaking they are big, strong men. Now imagine your kid’s art teacher trying to stop an 18 year old male student from taking their gun from them.

  • What’s gonna happen the first time a gun is accidentally discharged in a building and someone gets shot? Because I can pretty much guarantee you that will happen. Lots and lots of times. Once again, there are 3.2 million teachers in this country. It’s just a statistical fact that this will happen frequently. We have a school shooting every once in a while right now. If we give teachers guns there will be accidents on a semi-daily basis.
  • Teachers didn’t sign up to be cops. They signed up to teach. Let them do their jobs.
  • If you train a teacher to be both a police officer and a teacher are you going to pay them two salaries? Because you probably should. Are we willing to pay substantially more in taxes to cover this? I’m not.
  • If I was a teacher I wouldn’t need a law to tell me that I’m allowed to bring a gun to school. I’d just do it anyway and not tell anyone. I’m sure plenty of teachers already do. Hide that shit really good, know where it is at all times, have it locked up. If you get the alarm that you have an active shooter in the school then you take the gun out, kill the bad guy, and you’re the hero. Then no one cares that you violated protocol because you just saved a bunch of kids from dying. Problem solved.
  • Your kid is still much more likely to be eaten by bears or killed by a swarm of bees than he or she is to be killed in a mass shooting. The media makes you believe these things are far more common than they actually are. They’re not. Every time your kid gets on a school bus or a car and goes to school they are infinitely more likely to die than they are from a school shooter.
  • It’s kind of like how black lives matter wastes so much time complaining about the statistical anomaly of cops killing innocent unarmed black men. We’re spending all this time talking about how to prepare ourselves for something that will almost certainly NEVER HAPPEN!! If we were really concerned about saving lives of children we’d be forcing school buses to have seat belts and banning kids from driving until they’re 18, instead of talking about banning guns and arming teachers.

Here’s a couple more unsolicited thoughts about the aftermath of the Parkland shooting….

  • CNN is once again pushing an agenda and proving that they’re not real news. I’ve seen the same five kids on TV over and over again, despite over 3,000 kids going to this school. If CNN were serious about a debate over gun control then they’d be inviting up kids who didn’t think banning the AR-15 is the solution to school shootings. Instead they’re pushing this bullshit narrative that all kids agree with liberals when it comes to gun control.

  • Every single one of the kids that CNN is parading in front of the cameras was pro gun control before the shooting. It proves nothing that they’re pro gun control now. You wanna impress me? Find a kid who was anti-gun control before the shooting and is pro-gun control now. That would at least be interesting.
  • If you’re one of the legions of idiots who is accusing these kids of being crisis actors, I’m embarrassed for you. You have no idea how dumb you look to smart people like me. Seriously, you look Didi Delgado dumb. You think the left embarrasses themselves when they go over the top? This is a million times more embarrassing than anything any social justice warrior has ever done. Ever. Just stop.

  • It’s disgusting the way the left is using kids to push their agenda. Kids are not articulate. They’re not refined. They’re not policy experts. They might be someday, but they’re not now. Yes, it sucks what they went through, but surviving a tragedy like this does not make you a political expert on anything.
  • Not once did CNN try to put a panel together after an incident involving an immigrant or a refugee who killed an American citizen. Not once did CNN parade a bunch of kids in front of the cameras to cry about the need to stop refugees from coming here after two refugees killed 8 year old Martin Richard at the Boston Marathon. CNN is only interested in parading kids in front of the cameras when they are pushing the agenda they want.
  • The upcoming school walkout is just an excuse for kids to skip school. Any adult supporting it is an asshole, and they’re only doing so because it fits their political agenda. If millions of kids wanted to walk out of school to demand that the government build a wall on the Mexican border or protest abortion, none of them would be supporting it. We don’t get to encourage truancy in this country simply because students are fired up about a political issue that we happen to agree with.
  • Making the voting age 16 because allegedly these kids on TV are so smart and enlightened, might be the dumbest idea I’ve ever heard. And the only reason liberals want to lower the voting age is obvious – they know younger people tend to be more liberal. It’s just such an obvious ploy. Most 18 year olds are dumbasses. That number only increases the younger you go.
  • I’m all for doing whatever it takes to make schools safer, but “do something” isn’t a solution. It’s just people with no solutions being lazy.

Now back to our regularly scheduled program of exposing corruption and hunting ratchet.

Want to be lectured and talked down to by an elitist, academic, condescending, hypocritical, fake Indian, bag of hot air about the evils of scary guns, the problems with conservatives, the evils of Donald Trump and every other socialistic liberal talking point? Head on up to Wachusett HS Sunday the 25th at noon. Far be it for me try to suggest that the audience be filled to the brim with common sense turtle riders dressed as native Americans.

give teachers guns and allow them to shoot liberals

More guns…That’s the answer. Schools/teachers need more money/books to teach. Chalk or ammo? Teachers teach. Fundraisers for field trips or for more clips and ammo? Vile.

The size of the government was doubled by a president that created/endorsed the TSA to make America safer. Do you feel any safer? As a taxpayer, I do not. The shootings and massacres increase. Any ideas? What is currently in place, is not working while most all officials place the blame on someone else. NOT acceptable.

It’s happened again. I am heartbroken.  A massacre at a school. Shock, grief, horror and sense of powerlessness in the face of evil.

Then too, an immediate spasm of reaction on the part of sheltered liberals and the mainstream media, demonizing gun-rights advocates and calling for Congress to “do something”. That “something” invariably involves an attempt to make guns go away no matter how impractical, impossible, and totally ineffective that would be.

There is one thing that could actually work. Protect the schools and our children the way we protect all that is precious. We protect our government institutions, our politicians, our homes, our wealth, (and even worthless celebrities) with firearms.

We protect our children with… “Gun Free Zone” signs.

    Seriously?

Let’s erect new signs at the school perimeter that say, “Mass Murders Strictly Prohibited While on these Premises”.

Let the insanity begin in earnest. And the massacres will continue.

The government and the authorities have protections, you say. In the most recent case, multiple tips to the FBI detailing every red flag in the book about the shooter were ignored, orders to prevent the shooter from entering school were ignored, and every law against carrying a gun in school was ignored.

    Fail.

Throughout human history it is our inalienable right to protect ourselves. 10,000 years ago it was with a rock. 5000 years ago it was with a club. 1000 years ago with bow and arrow, 500 years ago with a sword, 200 years ago with a musket. Today it is with contemporary weapons.

It is our RIGHT to protect ourselves and OUR DUTY to protect our children. No law, no sign, no government agency will protect them. The authorities can be relied upon only to provide body bags.

Lawful optional concealed carry for teachers and administration.  It’s time to put “protection” in the job description.

This blog is so full of fail and non-logic it’s hard to know where to begin. Half of your arguments negate the other half. And laws supporting gun control only affect law abiding people – not the criminals and lunatics that commit so called “gun violence.”.

Just goes to show you how irrational and dumb people become when they argue for gun control. No critical thinking – just emotions and feels when it comes to GUNZ! Gun control is not about guns – it’s about people control. You know, what dictators, Nazis, and Communists like to do to the peasants.

Stick to mocking SJWs, that’s clearly your strong point.

yes! This. I am a teacher in a building with over 900 3-5 year-olds. We don’t want to carry guns. Right wing left wing liberal whatever the hell you want to call teachers I really do just want to teach and do my job. I’d take bulletproof doors and windows but a gun? No thanks.

Nobody wants to make you carry a firearm.

However, I have had a concealed carry permit for 30 years, have been a NRA certified instructor for 25, and a Massachusetts licensed firearms instructor for a decade. I also work in education, and am prevented by law from bringing my firearm to work, despite the fact I would be completely comfortable doing so. Instead of being able to protect my life and the lives of my students, I have to attend mandatory training each year to teach me to cower under my desk in fear and piss my shorts like a liberal snowflake in an “active shooter” situation.

Funny, Israel had exactly 1 school shooting 40 years ago, and has had ZERO since. Their teachers pack heat & they have multiple layers of armed/unarmed security…..
Much like combatting terrorism, we could learn a lot from them.

There a child be the school equivalent of a flight marshal at every school. Someone on staff is packing and trained but no student knows which one.

“SJW Hunter” sound more like “SJW” to me-i knew a man and woman who moved up here after retiring from teaching in the San Jose area- they packed 9mm handguns EVERY day they taught at that school-and let me tell you these people were hardly your right-wing NRA types the left loves to stereotype people as! let the teachers pack and get RID of gun free zones because they aren’t

    Deterrence is better than anything
    February 22, 2018 at 11:17 pm

Normally I agree with most of what TV posts, but this is one where I disagree. NO ONE saying “We’re going to bring a bag of guns to school on Monday and require every teacher to carry prominently on their hip.” What is being suggested is that if a teacher ALREADY has training and a license (a hunter, target shooter, ex-military, etc), they should be allowed to bring their weapon to work, just like they can bring it to other places, keep it in a secure place, and if ever needed, they could then exercise their right to protect themselves, and in this case, our schoolchildren.

In addition, if it became widely known that ANY adult in a school, from the principal to the custodians or lunch ladies could potentially be armed and you have no way of knowing in advance who is armed/has access to a weapon and who doesn’t (like a plainclothes Air Marshal on a plane) it would act as a great deterrent against a shooter looking for a “soft target,” meaning it actually LESSENS the likelihood that any armed teachers would ever have to shoot their weapon. How many times have you heard of cops having to shoot in their own police stations because someone thought that was a good place to try to attack?

TSA security cost is included in airfare price. School security should be in school budgets, and federally funded. That security should be equal, per pupil, regardless of location. Security should either be law enforcement (extra job), or ex-military. Regular training, psych eval, and social media monitoring should be employment requirements. On a more ideal level, security employees who purposely or accidentally kill 1 or more students shall be punished by whatever the student body (and the parents) decide.

TSA cost is added to the price of your plane ticket. School security should be included in the budget for each school, and federally funded. All schools should get the same amount of per pupil security, regardless of location – assuming that amount is capable of stopping an attack real quick like. The security needs to be comprised of either law enforcement (extra job), or full time hired ex-military. Regular training, phsychological eval, and social media monitoring should be employment requirements. On a more ideal thought, anyone in these security positions who purposely kills one or more students shall be punished via whatever means the student body (and there parents) decide.

You’re totally off-base on this. You’re not “giving teachers guns” if you’re just allowing otherwise lawfully permitted, law-abiding teachers to concealed carry like they do anywhere else. Give them the choice. The federal Gun Free Schools Act prevents them from doing so now.
