WBZThe FBI is investigating an overnight break-in at an U.S. Army Reserve armory in Worcester where weapons were apparently taken.

“Nothing at this point in time would tie this to any specific threat or anything else at this point,” Hank Shaw, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston division said at a press conference on Sunday.

The missing weapons were entered into a national database, and federal, state, and local law enforcement have been alerted, according to the agency. Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker urged the public to remain vigilant in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris.

“The more opportunity people have to rely on citizenry to serve as the eyes and ears, the more it makes a difference,” Baker said at Sunday’s press conference.

“These sorts of things people are going to be chasing and investigating no matter what, and I think it’s important for us to recognize that law enforcement will be collaborating, communicating, cooperating across all levels of government,” Baker said.

Six M4 rifles, ten M11 pistols, and some long guns were confirmed missing.

Look, this is obviously a big freaking deal. This isn’t a Honey Farms that got robbed – it’s a federal armory. It’s not some hood rats from Valley breaking in and doing a snatch and run. This is a coordinated robbery that is obviously part of a wider plan. We heard this on the scanner last night but waited to report before finding more facts. There was a reported fire there that has not yet been mentioned and I’m gonna assume that it had something to do with how they got in. I’m not exactly a weapon’s expert, but it would seem that blowing a hole into the roof to gain access would be the preferred mode of entrance for the burglars.  We know that the alarm system did not go off because for some reason it’s acceptable that a federal armory’s alarm system is temporarily broken.

Obviously someone knew the alarm was broken. This was clearly the work of professionals who want these weapons for a reason. It happened the night after a series of terrorist attacks in Paris and three days before Donald Trump’s scheduled visit to Worcester.

Not a big deal though right? Because according to Mayor Petty and Chief Gemme, our streets are safe and we are all working together to move the city forward. All this stuff about violence and crime was just a lie put forward by Mike Gaffney so he could try to get elected mayor. Plus we’re building a hotel at City Square and a Popeye’s just opened on Park Ave. Safest city in America.

Worcester-armory

So yea, I don’t know who did this, but the timing is suspect. And I really could care if this isn’t politically correct to point out, but there’s a very controversial mosque right down the street from there on East Mountain Street. In 2009 a teacher at this school/mosque, named Tarek Mehanna, was arrested and accused by federal authorities of plotting to kill soldiers, mall shoppers, and politicians. Guess why he didn’t go through with his plot?

Authorities said Wednesday that Mr. Mehanna and the other alleged conspirators had contacted Mr. Maldonado about getting automatic weapons for their planned mall attacks, but he told them he could only get handguns.

He couldn’t get the weapons. Yea, sorry, I’m not jumping to any conclusions here, but until we know who did this, how can anyone really feel safe in the Woo? We have a mosque right down the street that somehow HIRED a guy to teach children, who just so happened to be on the FBI’s terror watch list. Sounds like they have a pretty tough screening process down there. Oh yea, and it’s less than a mile from the federal armory that was raided on the night the alarm system was broken.

I realize that there are plenty of peaceful Muslims out there, so I’m not trying to bad mouth an entire religion. But the bottom line is that the peaceful ones need to be a LOT louder, and stop supporting shit like this. Because as you will see, polls show that they are overwhelmingly supporting this terror, so long as it’s for a good reason. Here’s what one of the leaders, Tahir Ali, told Dianne Williamson in order to justify the murders of Cherlie Hebdo employees after they were assassinated for drawing a cartoon of Mohammad, the pedophile prophet (and yes, he banged a 9 year old girl, so that makes him a pedophile):

Screen Shot 2015-11-15 at 9.30.37 PM

It’s Charlie Hebdo’s fault that several of their employees were killed by lunatic Islamic terrorists. They brought it on themselves because they drew a cartoon. There are people in Worcester who think like this. Very peaceful of him.

This guy is in a LEADERSHIP role. The fact that he didn’t immediately condemn those attacks and put 150% of the blame on the terrorists is alarming. So is the fact that the ACLU supported Tarek the terrorist

13mehannaro tarek-mehanna

If you are an American citizen then you must respect the right to free speech, regardless of whether or not that speech offends you. If you don’t respect that right then you’re a fascist and America has no room for you.

Then there’s this statistic: Screen Shot 2015-11-15 at 9.26.37 PM

Stop telling me that attacks like the ones that happened in Paris are some wackjob, fundamentalist anomalies. It might only be a small percentage who are willing to go through with these attacks, but 30% of American Muslims think it’s OK for others to do so if they insult Mohammad. You are enabling this shit. I happen to believe in Jesus, but if you wanna make fun of him I really don’t give a shit, and I certainly don’t think you should die because of it.

So in conclusion, we don’t know if this break in had anything to do with the mosque down the street from it, but if leaders like Tahir Ali didn’t try to justify mass murder, and if the school didn’t hire known terrorists on the FBI watch list, then we wouldn’t have a reason to even mention them.

P.S. When we first heard this story was broken by the mainstream media we assumed the Telegram would be all over it, so we went to their Facebook page. This was their headline story:

This is why people read Turtleboy Sports and the Telegram more likely than not will not exist in 20 years. Clive can be our coffee bitch, but we’re not paying him $15 an hour.

Like I’ve said before, your insistence of turning this into a local political issue undermines the rest of the story. This has nothing to do with “our city is safe”.

No, the city is safer with a dozen military grade weapons in the hands of who know who?! This has EVERYTHING to do with our safety.

    Thank you

    • Hob Nob
      November 16, 2015 at 8:25 am

The M4 can be a carbine which has a shorter barrel than a long gun. Though they are referenced here as a rifle, so it is unclear. Maybe they should have said “some other long guns”

Interesting that they didn’t really want to get into how many or what make/model long guns went missing. Almost want to wonder if they know precisely.

Unrelated, but the M4 and other long guns were likely to be automatic weapons, not the retail semi-auto variety.

You or I can not get these legally in this state – not without a huge amount of money, insurance, paperwork, and almost unobtainable machine gun license.

Gee I know when I was in the army when the alarm was down for the armory we had fire watch, two people watching it at all times on rotating schedule. Guess they failed at protocol!

    • Mike

Right? Longest firewatch of my career was at our armory following a power outage after hurricane Sandy!

Military armories have clear procedures with regards to the security and storage of weapons. When not in use the bolt is to be removed from the rifle, tagged with the serial number of the weapon it came from, and stored separately in something secure like a combination safe accessible to very few people. The theory being that without the bolt those rifles cannot operate in the event of a single security breach. Key word here is single.

The thieves come in through the roof, gain access to the armory, the weapons cage, and then the securely stored bolts? That’s a pretty bold theft that would require knowledge beyond that of most hood rats of the Woo. As far as someone inside facilitating this kind of elaborate theft only like 1 or 2 guys in any military unit would have that kind of access so those guys are at the top of a very very short list and must be under extreme scrutiny of the FBI and other LEO. If it is an inside job we should now fairly quickly is my guess.

Interesting questions I have are… So were the bolts and the rifles stolen or just the bolts? Did the armory follow proper procedure in the storing of the bolts? Who the hell knew about the broken alarm and whose that guys boss? Did radical Muslims carry out this theft?

I don’t think that radical Muslims are responsible for the thefts but many of us came around to that as a possible scenario and with good reason. I mean ask yourself this next time you by the mosque on West Mountain street…. do you view it as a symbol of peace or a potential gathering place for people who are attacking your culture and way of life? Is your honest feeling one of safety or concern?

The reality may truly be that no one there wants to cause you harm but how you feel about the mosque and Muslims in general directly relates to how the Muslim community has responded to you in light of all the atrocities since 9/11.

Personally I have been waiting years… yes years for a Muslim version of Martin Luther King Jr to step up sing kumbaya and at least try and convince me that these people want peace and that they are willing to go to the same great lengths as we are to exterminate the radical element of their religion. It is clear to me that the leaders of Islam have failed to police their own religion and remove the radical element that is giving peace loving Muslims a bad rap.

      November 16, 2015 at 8:15 am

They may just be willing to pay enough to make it worth the time and effort of those who did do it.

Not only those currently stationed at this facility are in question, but any current or ex-military that would be familiar with armory protocol. It’s an open secret that our military has gang (like ms13) members infiltrating the ranks, it doesn’t seem like a large jump to figure that they or other unscrupulous peoples did this not just for the weapons but for the $$$.

      • Ferret Face
        November 16, 2015 at 3:26 pm

JR: You are correct, sir. In fact, almost EVERYTHING has been infliltrated by goofy gangs, including police and especially the court system in Mass.

    • Mike
      November 16, 2015 at 2:02 pm

I’ve never seen an armory remove the bolts from the weapons in my experience. Not that it matters, but a bolt can be purchased for less than $100 that would run any burst fire capability in an M4.

        November 17, 2015 at 3:27 am

For that matter, in this age of 3D printing, you can most likely download the schematic for the bolt off of the darker recesses of the web and print one. Hell, someone managed to print an entire gun not all that long ago!

What do we do about this? The more that regular Muslims (non radical terrorists) do not cone out, and LOUDLY at that as TB suggests, condemming this stuff and trying to separate themselves from the nutbags, the easier and easier it becomes for me r to group them all as one.
