Today’s GoFundMe scam of the week comes from a former Clinton resident who apparently is now living in California and is looking to raise $2,000 in order to, “Help me find my way again“:
Why should you give this grown man in a North Face jacket your money to “find his way?” Well, according to him his wife of “55 years” died, and she was his only source of income. Now his goal is to purchase a van that he can live in. Not even kidding – he really wants you to give him money so he can live in a van down by the river:
As you can see the donations aren’t going very well so far. Which is surprising, because this guy seems like a real winner and his cause really pulls on the heartstrings.
Well as it turns out Bob Casson isn’t being completely forthright with the public. Ya see, he actually abandoned his wife many years ago, walked out on his kids, and didn’t even bother showing up to the wake or funeral of his “best friend.” Probably why he’s not even mentioned in her obituary. And now that he found out she’s dead he’s trying to capitalize on it by getting a free van out of the deal. The comments are fantastic:
Oops!! Probably wasn’t how Bob Casson envisioned this going in his mind. He probably figured this Internet thing could get him a rape van and he’d be diddling himself down by the river in no time. Guess that van is gonna have to be put on hold for a while. Sorry Bob!
