Fox 25 News: Six people were rescued from a home on Pelham Street in Worcester after it went up in flames early Saturday morning. Fire officials told FOX25 four adults and two children were on the top floor of the triple-decker when the fire broke out. Firefighters brought a ladder to the window and helped all six climb out and get to safety. All were taken to UMass Worcester Hospital to be checked out for smoke inhalation. Three companies were sent to battle the blaze as the flames melted the siding on neighboring houses. No firefighters were injured and the flames were under control Saturday morning.
Just another day and our firefighters are saving six people at a time while continuing to go without a contract from the city. It’s really unreal. Those people were trapped, including children. A couple minutes later they would’ve all been dead. Thank God for our first class first responders in this city.
But although the family is lucky to be alive, they’ve lost everything. I can’t even imagine what it’s gotta feel like to have everything taken from you like that. A GoFundMe has been started for Megan Kacevich-Laracuente and her two kids. You can help the out by clicking here. Megan is a hard working mother with three jobs and two wonderful little boys. She’s also a loyal turtle rider so we have her back 110%. I’m sure the last thing she wants is to ask for a handout, so we’ll ask for her. Help a sister help herself, and in turn help two innocent little boys who just survived a horrific, life changing experience. I mean, just look at that face:
Here’s how you can help him turn his frown upside down.
We urge you to support the Turtleboy Sponsors by doing business with them. Without them none of this is possible. Click on any of them to check out their sites or Facebook pages.

Whether she set a bar at 10k or not, shouldn’t really matter and I’m sure she will get no where near that. She’s in a tough place right now and you are all awful for thinking so badly. Regardless of anything, look around your home and try and put a value on ALL your stuff, I’m sure it’s several thousands of dollars. 3 beds, dressers, tvs, food, toys for the kids, clothes, dishes, tupperware, pots, pans, bathroom supplies, couch… how about all the irreplaceable objects… baby pictures and things like that. As far as her kids dad… probably seperated and has a home of his own to support… that not allowed either? I really hope none of your homes burn down. It’s hard enough coming up with first, last, and security wit out having to completely start over.
As I said previously I’ve been there and there are many places that will help her. From furniture to clothing everything can be replaced if she uses the resources to help people in situations like hers. With being said there is NOTHING I value more than my children’s and my own life. You forgot to address her arm fat go fund me page. I am not speaking from a point of view of someone who doesn’t know what they’re speaking of I have been in her shoes and I used resources that are set aside for these situations. Obviously it will be a tough long road, but they still have each other. I stated that she wasn’t there because I believe the article suggest that she and her children were the family that were rescued from a window.
This is a good time for a Public Service Announcement for renter’s insurance. Around $100 a year covers a lot (not making a statement that “she should have had insurance,” but reminding people who are renters that there is that option).
Just a side note, while driving down Gold star Blvd Friday night when it was down pouring I noticed that a wfd truck had pulled over for no other reason than to hold an umbrella over a old woman that was standing at a bus stop getting soaked because she did not have one . Way to go WFD
Megan and her children weren’t the family rescued. They weren’t home when the fire happened. I agree it’s a loss, but there are programs to help people that are displaced from fires I know because I’ve been in her shoes. The difference is I didn’t set up a gofundme account in hopes of raising 10K. Maybe this is just another go find me Megan really needed to art up like the one to help her remove her arm fat after mass health paid for her gastric bypass.

“They rescued by firefighters…then tripped on an asphalt patch on the sidewalk and were injured.”
Worcester has always had a excellent fire department, obviously it still has. The least the city can do, is give them a very good contract immediately.
TB, are you sure she is a genuine rider? I was doing some due diligence and I looked at her Facebook and see that she is a member of the “Turtleboy Sucks” group. Maybe I’m missing something. If I am wrong, feel free to set me straight.
I checked and you’re right.
Maybe she’s a member to just read the bullshit. I have joined anti-TB groups just to see what people are saying and who is saying it. I usually get discovered and removed though, and then my account gets shut down.
Who knows…
They updated the major wiring to Romex in the 70s and 80s along with installing breaker boxes for each floor. BUT they left behind the lesser things like lighting fixtures and switches. Those still have cloth insulated wires. Those are literally knob and tube wiring facing the demands of today along with surviving ~100 years of Worcester winters and summers. UPDATE ALL THE WIRING IN THE THREE DECKERS TO SAVE THEM. I was raised in a 1922 Greek Revival 3-decker on Indian lake. My family has since sold it and it looks like the switches were updated. I worry about that house so much. Had I gotten to stay, I would have updated all of the wiring when it came into my ownership.
Dat hyphenated name tho’
Exactly! And where is the father of these two dear sweet boys?
