Turtleboy Sports has better sources than any other media outlet that has ever existed, because the beauty of TBS is anonymity. It wouldn’t work if people had to put their names out there because people want the truth to be known, but they just want someone else to tell it. This is why we fight.

Every day we get tips from people all around the area letting us know about stories. Some are more reliable than others. But yesterday at 4:05 PM we started getting reliable reports that Jessica Conway, the mother of the 2 year old girl who died while in DCF care, had died from a drug overdose after being found unresponsive at a friend’s house off of lower Lincoln Street. Shortly after that we spoke with another reliable source who informed us that the time of death was 3:40, there were tracks on her groing that indicated she was hiding her drug use from her family, and that she had been using klonopin, crack, and heroin – a deadly combination.

When I say our sources are reliable, I mean as reliable as you can possibly get. Because obviously if we were to report that story and it turned out to not be true, it would completely destroy our reputation. People come to TBS for one reason and one reason alone – the truth.

But yet even after exposing this yesterday we saw doubters all over the Facebook machine:

There’s nothing more satisfying than facializing doubters with the truth. It’s the only weapon we have at Turtleboy Sports. Pure, uncensored truth. No, we can’t cite our sources. That’s the whole point of Turtleboy. You can wait for other sources to report it, or you can look at our track record and see that we always tell the truth. We know you couldn’t see it anywhere else online when it first was reported, because real news starts and ends with Turtleboy. If you wanna go on thinking that Turtleboy is not a “reputable” or “reliable” source, then you can make that choice to live in denial. But out here in grown up world everyone knows that when Turtleboy Sports reports something, we mean it.

Look, blogs are the way of the future. We don’t have editors or rules or red tape, or any other bureaucracy that stands in the way of the truth being exposed. We don’t have to be PC. If you honestly still think that newspapers and traditional media are the place to go to for real news, then you and Grandpa Turtleboy should go down to the park and play shuffleboard together. Because you guys would be best friends.

Why do people doubt Turtleboy? Look at our track record:

We could list all the stories that would’ve remained hidden from the public all day, but you get the point. Our track record is flawless.

And do you wanna know how we know it’s working? Because the traditional media outlets don’t want to acknowledge us, despite the fact that they all follow us on Twitter and Facebook. It’s the main reason why not a single media outlet cited our story on Jessica Conwy when they reported on it. Such a Sam Allen move. It started with MassLive:

They claim to have found out about the story by obtaining a police report, which is weird because you can only get police reports from the services desk at the police department, which was closed when we broke the story at 8:01 PM. But regardless of that, the fact of the matter is that MassLive first heard about it when they saw it on Turtleboy. Anyone who thinks otherwise is living in fantasy land. After they heard about it from us, they made a decision that they didn’t want to credit us with the story. They easily could’ve cited our blog, or contacted us to confirm the story. But they didn’t. Instead they took the information we provided and then they called up a couple cops they knew and they used them as a source. But make no doubt about it – they never would’ve had any idea this story existed if they didn’t see it on TBS first.

Shortly after MassLive “broke” the story it suddenly became legitimate. Fox 25 was the next to report it, and the source they cited was MassLive:

But Fox 25 already knew about the story because we had spoken to them about it, as had a bunch of turtle riders who were bombarding them with the story on social media.

Soon after that the Worcester Police Department reported the story on their Facebook page. Normally the WPD would not report an overdose death on their page. But they had to because doubting Thomas’s out there didn’t believe it until they reported it. After that the story became a fact and everyone started reporting it:

The question is – where the hell is the Telegram and Gazette? After all, this is supposedly the official newspaper of Worcester. We were all raised on it growing up. Meanwhile every Boston outlet, a Springfield based internet news site, and a boy on a turtle are all reporting a story that for some reason the Telegram didn’t have. Where was our girl Sam Allen?

Screen Shot 2015-09-03 at 12.53.50 PM

LOL. “Breaking.” Priceless. In Sam Allen fantasy land she is “breaking” a story that literally everyone has reported except for the newspaper who employs her. It’s so Sam Allen it hurts. She also reported the cheating road race story three days after us, and the hot take about the best cut through streets two weeks after us. She just doesn’t have it in her to admit that she gets all her news from Turtleboy Sports. Because when you’re a carpetbagging, neophyte journalist from North Andover, you refer to Turtleboy Sports as “rumors” and “crowd sourcing.”

Whatever though. You all know where real news comes from. It’s why we are destroying every other media outlet in town. It’s why every major news outlet follows on social media. Because at the end of the day they wanna deny the turtle, but they just can’t stop riding him.

I don’t know why those who doubt your reporting even follow the Turtle! People must not realize if you report something and put it out for the public to see IT HAS TO BE ACCURATE! Turtleboy is an actual source to get news! The only difference between Turtleboy and other sources is TB says what other outlets are thinking but can’t say it! If you are going to doubt something argue it’s not true and bash those reporting actual news then fucking stop following and sit back and wait for another source who may have received the news from TB! Just remember if your not riding the turtle you will miss a whole lot going on that no one else knows about or just doesn’t care!! THANK YOU TURTLEBOY for keeping the public informed!

The first place I saw the overdose death story was on MassLive. That was also the first place I saw the story on the 11-year-old girl getting hit by a car on Main St. on Tuesday. I knew the latter incident had happened because I saw the police activity a short while later and wondered what was going on. The T&G didn’t have either story until well after MassLive had them. Many of MassLive’s Worcester stories are reported by former T&G reporters, who obviously have maintained their contacts here. The T&G is virtually worthless these days.
