Hey fam – if you’d like to support Turtleboy and what we do here, feel free to hit the donate button at the top. We basically have to run this site like a Bernie Sanders campaign now since we’ve been blacklisted by Google and Facebook, due to the fact that rabid SJWs keep reporting our posts. Getting blacklisted by Google is a death sentence for most websites, since it’s much harder to monetize. And we all know the damage Facebook has done. We’re never going to stop fighting for free speech, but in the meantime the best way for turtle riders to fight back is to donate to the cause. Without you people none of this is possible. We love you all.

NBCTwo employees of a Lawrence nonprofit organization were suspended after a non-verbal Autistic man in their care was found running along a busy highway.

“There is no apology that they can say right now,” David Maille said.

According to Maille, his son  – who is also named David – was picked up by a Class, Inc. driver and a monitor for his day program in Lawrence around 8 a.m. on Monday. For a reason still under investigation by multiple agencies, the 28-year-old man escaped.

Hamid Ben Laitmana was driving along Interstate 93 just before 10 a.m. Monday when he saw the younger Maille running along the highway.

“As soon as he looked at me, he started running,” Latimana said. “Automatically my feelings changed.”

He added he was able to get ahead of Maille and park his car on the shoulder of the highway, get out, and slowly assure the scared man.

“I bend on my knees, I opened my arms and I said, ‘Buddy come on, where are you going? You have a nice day? What happened?’” Laitmana said, as he demonstrated how he approached the man. “He came to me, when he put his chest on me, I cannot tell you…his heart was beeping.”

Laitmana says he called 911. State police confirmed they received a call at 10:06 a.m. of a man on I-93 North near exit 45.

“They had to have made a stop, because David never showed up at the program,” Maille said. “He was left out there to be alone, on the streets.”

In a statement, Class, Inc. said it has launched an investigation.

“Yesterday morning a participant in one of our day programs failed to arrive at his program in Lawrence,” the company said. “According to reports, he was located by the State Police and we are relieved that he is now safely at home.”

The company added, “this critical situation is deeply concerning and we are working closely with investigating authorities.”

“In addition, we at Class are conducting our own internal investigation to learn exactly what occurred,” the company added. “Staff involved in the incident have been suspended pending the results of the investigations.”

Maille said what makes him so mad is that Class, Inc. didn’t report his son missing until hours later, around 4:30 p.m. Billerica Police confirmed Tuesday night they didn’t receive a missing persons report until about that time.

“We are still investigating but can confirm that a resident of a residential home for developmentally delayed adults located in Billerica was reported missing yesterday at approximately 4:30 p.m. and was located approximately two hours later at a Methuen hospital,” the police department said in a statement. “We are currently working with DDS, the Massachusetts State Police and the Middlesex DAs office.”

We could focus on the negative for this story, but that’s not really our style. We’re really more concerned about pointing out how this guy right here should be widely known as a hero:

Think about what Hamid Ben Laitmana did. Here’s a guy who appears to either work for or owns a handyman service. He’s driving along I-93 and he sees a guy walking. He knows nothing about him. He could easily assume he’s some drunken boob out for his daily guttermuppet walk, and keep on driving to his next job.

But instead he stops and says something to the guy. He immediately realizes based on the man’s reaction that he’s not all there. He realizes he’s scared so he changes his tone, gets down on his knees, and extends his arms for a hug. Then David felt comfortable enough to realize that this man was his friend and here to help him, so he didn’t feel scared coming over to him. This could’ve easily ended in disaster with him walking into the travel lanes or wandering off into the woods.

Hero.

Meanwhile, I don’t know enough about Class, INC to really judge them yet. I know the employees who lost them are obviously idiots who deserve to be fired and possibly criminally charged. But at the same time it’s simply unforgivable that he was discovered at 10 AM, but not reported missing by Class, INC until 4:30 PM. Get your shit together. Hamid might not be there to bail your ass out next time.

Love how the theiving drug dealing state police call and say “they located him”; taking away from the true hero in this story.

You guys didn’t locate anyone; in fact you were probably awoke. By the call as you slept in your car or were out on the goodnite course skipping an overtime shift

Thank you so much for posting this story. I’m glad you threw a good one in today, I’m getting sick of the human race at this point and this warmed my heart and made me realize that there are still great hearted people out there.

My son is a resident at a home in Tewksbury and is transported to a day program in Westford. Let’s not give this a black eye to the many dedicated transportation, day program workers and house managers that care for our children every day. My son is in the NuPath orginization and they do a stellar job in all aspects of his care…As a parent it is only normal for me to keep a watchful eye.

The black eye is to the people that lost this poor kid and to anyone involved that failed to report him missing.

Question is…  did the company know and not notify the authorities until 4:30pm or did the workers directly responsible for losing him try to locate him on their own?  If they had located him, they would have kept it to themselves.

This is a disgrace either way and should scare the shit out of you. My heart breaks for that kid and what he must have been going through being alone on the highway. And how many people just passed him???

Ben, you sir are the man. Handled the entire situation like a champ. Based on his actions I bet he doesn’t want the accolades but he deserves them. Get him to the State House and give that man the Hannah Award.
