Hippies have been asking police to wear body cameras as part of their massive reform of police officers everywhere. So cops across the country are starting to do it, including the Spokane, Washington Police. After all, the people DEMAND transparency. They want to see the tapes!!! So the SPD shared this interaction with some drunken hooligan who was arrested after repeatedly interfering with a calm and patient police officer who was attempting to do his job:
What a slug rake!!!
Anyway, like we said, this is what the public wanted. Except now they’re complaining that it’s “shaming” dooshnozzles like Cory Counts, the drunken muff in the video. That’s because according to his lawyer Frank Cikutovich, it’s unfair because the Sgt. Eric Kannberg knew the interaction was being recorded, but hid idiotic client did not:
But Cikutovich says Kannberg likely is calm because he knows he’s being recorded, while Counts is not aware of the rolling camera. “I think it was twofold: one, to show how awesome the police officer was, who knew he was recorded, and two, to shame Mr. Counts,” Cikutovich said, on why he believes the video was released the way it was. “If they want to just show how awesome the officer is, they could have blurred the video and not released his name.”
So let me get this straight. Every time a cop screws up we need a name so an online lynch mob can ruin their life. But drunken fools get to have their names blurred out? Ok then.
“It’s possible the SPD was within the letter of the law statewide in posting the video, but the question arises, why did they post it?” Shankar Narayan, director of technology at the American Civil Liberties Union’s Seattle office said. “As you see, those are cameras that capture people not necessarily at their best moments.”
Wait….so you’re telling me that criminals aren’t having their “best moments” while being arrested? So we should only release body camera videos when the perps are well behaved and composed? Oh that’s right, that almost never happens.
Just as we thought the only purpose of the push for body cameras was for the public to be able to vilify cops. But anything that shows the millions of daily interactions that cops have with citizens in which the cops act professional and do their job, those videos can’t be released because it will fuck up the ACLU’s anti-cop narrative. It all makes sense now!!!
