Is There Anything More Embarrassing Than Grown Adults Sharing This Change.org Petition To Make Hillary President?

I thought this was a joke at first but it’s all too real. There is a change.org petition that is attempting to force the electoral college to vote for Hillary Clinton:

screen-shot-2016-11-10-at-9-58-18-pm

Here’s their brilliant rationale:

On December 19, the Electors of the Electoral College will cast their ballots. If they all vote the way their states voted, Donald Trump will win. However, they can vote for Hillary Clinton if they choose. Even in states where that is not allowed, their vote would still be counted, they would simply pay a small fine – which we can be sure Clinton supporters will be glad to pay!

Because Hillary hasn’t tried buying elections already.

We are calling on the Electors to ignore their states’ votes and cast their ballots for Secretary Clinton. Why?

Because you hate democracy.

Mr. Trump is unfit to serve. His scapegoating of so many Americans, and his impulsivity, bullying, lying, admitted history of sexual assault, and utter lack of experience make him a danger to the Republic.

Nah.

Secretary Clinton WON THE POPULAR VOTE and should be President.

Cool story bro.

Hillary won the popular vote. The only reason Trump “won” is because of the Electoral College.

Yea, who cares about the EC?

unnamed-10

But the Electoral College can actually give the White House to either candidate. So why not use this most undemocratic of our institutions to ensure a democratic result?

The electoral college is the result of 50 separate democratic elections.

SHE WON THE POPULAR VOTE.

Nice. Wanna cookie?

There is no reason Trump should be President.

Except for the fact that he won.

“It’s the ‘People’s Will'”

No. She won the popular vote.

Now that you mention it a third time it might actually matter.

unnamed-3

“Our system of government under our Constitution says he wins”

No. Our Constitution says the Electors choose.

“Too many states prohibit ‘Faithless Electors'”

24 states bind electors. If electors vote against their party, they usually pay a fine. And people get mad. But they can vote however they want and there is no legal means to stop them in most states.

Historically electors have only voted against the people they’ve been directed to vote for if the candidate dies. But, facts never get in the way of a good change.org petition.

At first I thought they were kidding. Then I saw the ALL CAPS and I knew THEY MEANT BUSINESS!! This was my favorite part:

“Hillary won the popular vote. The only reason Trump “won” is because of the Electoral College.”

It’s almost as if the electoral college matters! Like we’ve been doing it this way for 240 years. Like it’s in the Constitution or something. But we all know none of those things are true. We choose the leader of the free world like we choose the captain of the cheerleading squad – popular vote. Duh!!

Screen Shot 2015-12-28 at 1.20.12 PM

This about sums up the average thought process of a millenial:

“We are calling on the Electors to ignore their states’ votes and cast their ballots for Secretary Clinton.”

Yea, you know all those people who waited hours in line to vote? All those people who work all day and give the government 40% of what they make in taxes? Fuck them. We should ignore their votes because the chosen candidate of a bunch of whiny SJW’s lost. That’s the American way!!

hillary-clinton-is-officaly-president-folks-have-toapologise-hey-folks-6235440

Hey, here’s an idea. Instead of letting the electoral college officially choose President-Elect Trump, we should let the people vote on who they think should be President, and then force the electoral college to vote for the candidate that the people choose. Oh wait, that already happened. Scratch that.

The funniest part about this is that it’s gotten over 1.6 million morons to sign it in the last 24 hours. Yet voter turnout significantly dropped in comparison to the last two elections, despite millions more eligible voters:

screen-shot-2016-11-10-at-10-19-30-pm

This is how dumb the cupcake generation is. They think signing a change.org petition carries more weight than actually showing up to the polls and voting.

The fact of the matter is that the 18-29 crowd just didn’t show up like they did for Obama. That’s because he was younger and way more cool. But Hillary? Who wants to vote for that old bag? Not cool.

14993413_10206266199688912_233239745832877552_n

Here’s another FACT:

“Clinton received a lower share of the vote among young voters (ages 18-29) than Obama received in 2012 or 2008. Young adults preferred Clinton over Trump by a wide 55%-37% margin; by comparison, Obama had a 60%-36% advantage over Romney in 2012 and a 66%-32% advantage over McCain in 2008.”

In other words, young Trump supporters showed up, just as they did for Romney and McCain. But young Obama voters stayed home, cried when Trump won, and started a change.org petition.

The funny part is when people on your timeline share the petition because they think it actually matters, but you can’t comment on it because they preemptively defriended you:

screen-shot-2016-11-10-at-10-39-46-pm

screen-shot-2016-11-10-at-10-39-56-pm

“No I won’t get over it!! Waaahhhh!! My candidate lost!! Wahhhhhhhh!! Sign my petition!! Wahhhhhh!!!”

In case you want to see just how real and official this petition is watch what happens when our friend Fuckface McGee signed it:

screen-shot-2016-11-10-at-10-36-58-pm

He gets added to the pile and they send him a nice little note asking for $5:

screen-shot-2016-11-10-at-10-37-26-pm

Sounds legit!!

It’s just so embarrassing seeing adults sign this. I could understand a bunch of 14 year olds falling for this, but we’re talking about grown men and women here who think the Constitution can be amended arbitrarily with an online petition. Thank God these idiots don’t vote. The system works.

The purpose of the Electoral College is to provide a two-tier election process , to insure that an unqualified candidate Is not elected by an uninformed populace. Many people think Trump is unqualified — in fact, Obama called him “uniquely unqualified” and many in his own party have disowned him, something that’s never happened before. This is exactly the circumstance the Electoral College was instituted to deal with. It’s up to its members to decide whether Trump is qualified to be president, and if not, to “vote their conscience.”

The purpose of the Electoral College was to insure that ALL of the states would have a voice in the election of the President. If it were to insure that an unqualified candidate were elected by an uniformed populace, then Barack Obama would have lost in the electoral College.

I wish all these people complaining would move on. If you think you would make a better President then run for office, nobody is going to stop you. Until then shut the fuck up!

To the extent conservatives are giving my comment the thumbs down – you know you are giving the thumbs down to your own guy’s actually words right? I didn’t say who I voted for or what my thoughts are. Rather, just illustrating some good ole hypocrisy. The electoral college argument that is being taken to task here, now raised by liberals, was the same argument Trump himself made but 4 years ago. It just fits the narrative of the article here because of timing; but it is the same argument – one that is not “owned” by any side.

A smart man will use whatever tools are offered to him. Just because he knows how to game the system doesn’t make him a hypocrite. The hypocrites are the ones who take all the tax deductions they can and then complain about how little Trump pays in taxes. And just like tax loopholes, Trump and his team expertly maneuvered the Electoral College. Both sides had a game plan- not to get everybody to vote for them- but to make sure they get 270 electoral votes. Newsflash: Clinton’s team knew about the Electoral College as well. Turns out Trump knew where to campaign and rally the troops, and Clinton goofed around and blew it. That’s the system and he used it because he had to. Doesn’t mean it is or it isn’t flawed.
I like that the new leader of our country is smarter than “the system”. makes me think he might just be able to Make America Great Again.

How many of the retards who signed the petition actually voted. I bet the percentage is very small. These kids think they can accomplish anything they need to online.

There are some rumors floating around that there may have been mistakes in the popular vote tallies and trump may have won there as well. I saw it on one of the little know news sites. May be BS but it sure would make a few heads explode.

As for the change.org. has it ever actually helped anyone get anything accomplished, I don’t think so

I also saw yesterday where legislators in the states of Oregon, Washington and California are considering seceding from the union and form their own country. Liberalism is truly a mental illness!!!

Let ’em do it. Too many years of unfettered illegal immigration has destroyed that state. I remember how beautiful the place used to be in the 70’s when I’d visit my uncle for the summer and then when I went back out there for some contract work in the late 90’s it was turned into a ghetto shithole with lowriders and gangbangers everywhere you looked. We need to drop a nuke on the place and let nature reclaim it for the next 200 years before it will even be worth trying to reinhabit again.

This is going to be a fun four, hopefully eight years. Let’s hope Trump follows through and prosecutes the criminals in the State Department, IRS, DOJ, CIA and reverses the illegal actions of the current office holder.

We should withdraw from the UN, give them 90 days to vacate the premises, demolish the building and have his company build beautiful subsidized apartments there for our Veterans and low income folks, right on the waterfront.

If he is all hat and no cattle it will be ugly real soon.

But hey! They are Socialists. Don’t ever call them Marxists or Communists.

It would start another diatribe of name-calling with words Noah Webster himself couldn’t define.

Let’s talk about this and let’s talk about this hard.

Trump was voted in, first of all, supposedly, by the uneducated white male. Great. Because blocking traffic and yelling “Fuck Trump” while in possession of a college degree makes you WORLDS better than I am. Because starting a petition on Change.Org because this is the first election where the popular vote did not match the electoral vote. Oh wait. Al Gore lost in 2000 the. same. fucking. way. Nobody took to the streets for the man who would actually become a Nobel Peace Prize winner. Did I mention that Al Gore wasn’t the only other person who lost the election this way? Because he wasn’t. This shouldn’t be a shock.

However, is it NOT the epitome of irony that the very same group that badgered and battered any and all Trump supporters for supporting a ticket of intolerance and close-mindedness are the same ones who suddenly have the time to protest an election outcome that is based on centuries of tradition.

After all the press every BLM road-blockage received in the last couple of years, we should have seen this coming. Every buzzword ever created suddenly reawakened in the last 48 hours. You didn’t win this one, bros. Move along. That said — if you were tired of political posts BEFORE the election… I’m about ready to come out swinging on my personal page. That is the last thing I wanted to do.

Take your stupid petition and go home. Should Electoral College voters CHANGE their votes and become swayed to the people crying in the streets, it will do nothing except show the weakness of this country. Fuck — ALL of this shows weakness in the country. We are weak right now and we have been led this way and fed this way. It has been encouraged.

The fact of the matter is this: I voted Trump and I expected him to lose big. I soon found out this was a common sentiment. It is amazing what happens in private. When you’re in that voting booth alone, you have an amazing power. America took that privacy seriously. We’re are, indeed, a nation where one can be a gentleman or a lady in the streets, but a freak in the booth. Nobody expected that. Nobody.

Can we install an edit option on commentary? My second paragraph is actually unfinished. What I intended to relay out of my brain is that these people who scream intolerance are the same ones USING intolerance as a weapon. The same people who are rejecting the underdog for no other reason than they listened, quite intently, to the pro-Hillary media. They have no idea. None. Perhaps none of us do. We owe Trump an opportunity right now and it should be completely acceptable to announce him a failure, if indeed he is.

There is nothing more susceptible to international violence than a country divided. The guard is down right now. We are self-absorbed. Wrong move, kids. Wrong move. Keep your eye on sky, not on each other.
