So this was a real downer:

You may recall, we did a blog on the Turtleboy family’s visit to this Leicester masterpiece last December. We wanna do a follow up on this story once we find out more about it and do a little Turtleboy Investigates.

But for now this is all I’m sayin – whoever called the cops is a real dooshnozzle. This reminds me of the situation from Greenfield. Not that gigantic Christmas displays are at all similar to a hidden confederate flag in a garage, but in both cases it all could’ve been resolved if people would just speak to each other. Granted, I’m sure this created a safety hazard and if I was living there I probably wouldn’t be crazy about it either.

But it’s like four weeks out of the year!! Who cares? And even if it was that big of a deal, knock on your neighbor’s door the next day and be like, “ummm, can we maybe figure out a place for all these people to park that isn’t right in front of my house?” Thanks.

Seriously, what is so freaking hard about talking to your neighbor about how your privacy can be respected AND they can keep doing this really great thing for the community, free of charge?? Is that really so difficult to do? Nah, that seems like too much work. Way too grownup for me. Better just call the cops instead.

Adults complain about kids being on their cell phones and not being able to communicate with one another. But the fact that a neighbor called the cops on the Leicester Christmas Lights House and ruined Christmas just proves once again that adults aren’t very good at that either.

Do these people not realize that they’re the grinch of Leicester now? And that’s no easy feat! You literally just ruined Christmas for kids and this family, who obviously can’t get enough Christmas joy. Plus you live in a town with a Walmart. Just be grateful they didn’t build it next door to you.

And this neighborhood literally just had some dude lead cops on a manhunt, INVOLVING A BOAT, because he was armed to the teeth with weapons and a bullet proof vest and fired gunshots into the air in his backyard. But yea, tell me more about how you’re scared of car lights.

The people who put this display together collect money, not for their seemingly outrageous electric bill, but for charity. Tons of families bring their kids down there and it really gets the family juices going for Christmas. And now it’s gone because some Leicester muff has the communication skills of a three year old.

Don’t live in the area but, I’d be weary myself what crowds were coming around on foot. A lot of scuzzies out there. Not sure why this specific neighbor called but, I’d bet some of the characters coming around are not ones you’d want roaming around that closely either.

Who drives one block to see this kind of display anyway? Blow up Christmas figures? I walk by some every day and laugh at how stupidly cheap looking they are. You guys need to expand your radius. There are ones out there that have a great deal of time and money on them. Not that though from what i can see.

You all need some reading comprehension. The home owner very clearly stated the neighborhood couldn’t handle the amount of traffic they had. He very clearly stated the the cops didn’t shut him down which means that the person who complained really had nothing to do with why it was shut down. And as a side note, you have no knowledge of why someone would be concerned about the amount of traffic on the street. Maybe it was blocking their driveway, maybe it was making the street impassable and there was concern about emergency vehicles making their way down….YOU HAVE NO IDEA so while you are casting stones and making the caller out to be a grinch, maybe you need to stop being the grinch and understand that there very well could have been a genuine concern.

This just breaks my heart for this family…The people that get hurt are always the innocent ones….The children (young and old) that enjoyed this display and made it part of a family tradition every year…The Charity that they helped out Every year…How sad for them also…This family put their heart and soul into this so All could enjoy…and it only takes One to end it !!! Anyone have an old Hay Wagon ????? Maybe parking in the Church parking lot and having a Sleigh/Hay ride shuttle to this house??? (Certain Hours) ….It would be even better if there were horses involved, They could leave a special PRESENT for these neighbors…Because this whole thing is Horse-Shit!!!!!

Quit harping on whoever called the police. Give the owners time to figure this out without all of the negativity. Put some positive into the matter and try to help. How would you feel if it was your street and you or a family member had a medical emergency? If people would park where they are suppose to none of this would be happening. Good luck!!!!

Was a decent rant until you mentioned the Boston Marathon Bomber, who wasn’t in Leicester on the chase, but in Watertown, nowhere near Leicester.

      December 13, 2015 at 10:48 am

Um, that was dumb! Two weeks ago, not 4 years ago, a Leicester resident did fire into the air and did lead the cops on a two day manhunt and did use a boat to escape as they were closing in on him. If you would read and educate yourself a little you wouldn’t sound like such a dumbass.

        December 13, 2015 at 1:17 pm

“Um” Bill, while I agree with you that yes, that was in fact an ill informed comment by Nicole, you may want to refrain from insulting and advising people other than yourself to read or educate themselves. Quick history lesson for you and I’ll let you get back to throwing stones from your glass house… The Boston Marathon bombings were not 4 years ago, they happened April 15, 2013.

Loser. Total cowardice, loser. The sad thing is that most neighborhoods have at least one (I know mine does). It’s the ‘I’m miserable and not successful at shit so my life goal is to make those around me as miserable and hinder them in any way possible’ mentality. I have to say, it only makes it that much sweeter when their plan goes awry and they have to easy a pound of shit pie, and then you get to smile and wave at them EVERY TIME THEY DRIVE BY YOUR HOUSE !!! Assbags

Whoever called the cops is a complete asshole. LCL have posted that people can park in the field across the street. I have not heard of anyone being injured because of the parking situation. I see everyone taking extra care when going through there. There’s always one tool to ruin things for everyone else.

I spoke with the owner of the house. I was telling him how awesome this display was. All the families taking pictures, kids smiling and laughing and in amazement of it all. He then said that it could be the last night. You could hear the sadness in his voice. It was so sad. People just sux, its once a year this is done. I hope the best for the owner of this home and hope he will be able to continue.

I beg to differ man. Kids today only care about one thing.

If that’s what you think then you are raising your children wrong..
When asked my five yo granddaughter what she wanted her reply is for her Aunt to come hone from Calorado and her baby sister to get teething toys so her teeth feel better. Oh by the way she loved going to the Leicester lights.

    • Lala
      December 13, 2015 at 2:30 pm

Not my little ones, we love the lights esp. Since it gets so dark so early in winter. ..

    • Really?
      December 13, 2015 at 10:28 pm

Well then why belittle something so many people go to and take joy in that has nothing to do with getting anything? And if it’s “all about the gifts” you should be as upset as anyone else is about this as it’s something people are doing to give and not recive, how is that not an important lesson?

  • DaGonz
    December 13, 2015 at 8:07 am

There’s always an asshat in the neighborhood….
I’s say @#$! them, keep the lights on!
    Merry Christmas!

  • Danielle
    December 13, 2015 at 5:45 am

Seriously, all you butthurt fk’s… You are what’s wrong with people today!! Wahhh someone parked in front of my house, lets shutdown something that has been making kids smile for years, shit I’m 30 and still get excited!! My point is the family did this out of the kindness of there heart’s!! Turtle boy is sooo right you screwed yourself by being the person that called!! Your probably going to get harrased more than ever, there’s only a few houses it could be I’m sure people will figure it out!

This house is across the street from the football field where Leicester High School plays along with other sports teams. There is a parking lot next to the field. I just wonder what these people do when there is a game, especially the Thanksgiving day game. And this display has been up for a few weeks but it just became a problem? TB is right, they should have spoken to them when they were setting up or at least after it was on the news…it’s not like it’s their first year doing this. Bah humbug to this neighbor!

    • Lala
      December 13, 2015 at 2:28 pm

Agreed! Driving, parking & foot traffic is always crazy for my daughters pop warner games. I cannot imagine what high schools games would be like, especially with teenage drivers! But please ppl, complain about the xmas lights traffic!

  • Reddog
    December 13, 2015 at 2:59 am

WTF people suck! Does TB know who called the cops?
