Fitchburg Sentinel (We could’ve linked any source for this story, but we purposely will choose the Sentinel to show our support for their upstanding journalism in the face of online bullying):

Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been sentenced to death.

The jury, after 14 hours of deliberations, announced its verdict after 3 p.m. on Friday.

Three people were killed and more than 260 injured when two bombs exploded near the marathon’s finish line on April 15, 2013. Tsarnaev and his older brother, Tamerlan, also killed a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer, Wilmington native Sean Collier.

I dunno about you, but this brought a smile to my face. To be honest, I think that life in prison is worse. Mainly because by the time he’s 65 he’ll be the Chechen Morgan Freeman from Shawshank. He’ll be reformed and look back at 19 year old Jafar and realize what a worthless pile of poo-poo he was. Because right now I don’t feel like he regrets anything. He feels no sorrow or mercy.

His idiot family members, his idiot friends from the people’s Republic of Cambridge, and his idiot fans at Rolling Stone have made him feel like he’s some sort of bad ass rock star. Life in prison would’ve forced him to finally reach the point where he felt sorrow and regret.

But in the end I just don’t give a shit about any of that. I wanted death because the defense wanted life in prison. I want the exact opposite of what he wants. Some people say that THIS gives him what he wants – death. Bullshit. He wants to live. He’s a pussy wannabe jihadist who killed little Martin Richard and his idiot brother Timon, and then hid in a boat in Watertown. Like a pussy. I don’t use that word a lot, but for him, it’s fitting.

A real terrorist goes down with the ship. But he’s not a real terrorist. He had no ideology. He’s just an asshole who put a bomb next to an eight year old and walked away. The day he stops breathing will be a great day in American history.

I also realize that he won’t be killed for 10-20 years. I realize that the appeals will be exhausting. I realize that this will cose a lot of money. But the way I see it, the government is going to waste our money any way, so they might as well waste it on this. It’s not like the alternative to the death penalty is a tax refund. This costs me and you the same amount regardless.

But most importantly I think this sent a strong message to the rest of the country – a jury of massholes can have balls. I honestly thought he would get life in prison simply because it was a Massachusetts jury. I didn’t think you could find 12 Bay State residents who had it in them to put this animal to sleep.

But I was wrong. this jury has restored my faith in the judicial process in this state. God bless the families of Lu Lingzi, Krystle Campbell, Martin Richard, and Sean Collier.

P.S. Death by Uncle Ruslan.

I kind of wish he’d gotten life. Just because a pretty little thing like him would have been ass raped every day for the next fifty years. If they didn’t kill him on day two.

BobnMIC: Hopefully, your wife is in therapy getting help with her self worth and self esteem issues. Also, a consultation with a divorce lawyer, would certainly be in her best interest. Your post made me throw up in my mouth.

I accept the verdict of the jury who spent months away from their regular lives to reach a verdict and agree on the penalty.

I also accept that the rules of my country include capital punishment.

I do not, however, agree with it.

    Your mileage may vary.

Being entirely selfish, I don’t want ever to have to hear this convict’s name again. Never. I want to purge him from my consciousness. I don’t want to have to hear or read his statement, which is his right, at the formal sentencing hearing.

I respect the wishes of the Martin family. That said, I believe the trial was fair, the jury was fair, and the result is consistent with the laws of my Commonwealth.

Let’s turn the page on this.

My Commonwealth and my Country, I should have said.

What appeal? His lawyers first words were “Yes, it was him”

They can still appeal the death sentence, even admitting that he’s guilty.

Really wish he was given life in prison because he would have been murdered 3 days later in his cell. Now we’re going to have to see his ugly mug on TV again every time he gets an appeal for the next 30 years.

In my heart I’m glad he got the death penalty; in my head I’m irritated that we now have to pay for all his appeals. There’s no guarantee the appeals will succeed, of course, but there may be other problems with finally getting this piece of garbage executed. The biggest problem I see, if Tsarnaev’s appeals process is still going on as of Jan. 19, 2017, is that the President can order a last minute commutation of his sentence from death to life in prison because this is a Federal crime. Even if Obama for some reason does not finish his second term, I think Joe Biden would commute the sentence if he becomes President. So Jan. 19 2017 is the real deadline here. The election would be over, and even if a Democrat is elected in 2016, the sentence would be commuted before Jan. 20, 2017 because there would be no way to make Obama’s party pay for ordering a commutation. They’d have nothing to lose.

I hope people realize this and at least vote in the next Presidential election for the person least likely to commute the sentence. In fact, I hope the “experts” start asking all the presidential candidates immediately if they would commute this sentence. The voters have a right to know.

Maggie the cat: I don’t get the thumbs down on this. Yesterday, on another forum, I expressed concern that one final act of destruction from Obama, would be to pardon him. Your post makes perfect sense to me, but, that’s because I understand cats.

They should let him loose at Government Center at High noon.
There is no established punishment I know of to free us of this filth. The thing we all need to understand, is that neither off these ass hats targeted their victims. They targeted ALL OF US. It could have been your loved ones as easily as anyone else’s. Each of us should take what happened very personally, as though we were individually attacked and our own loved ones put in danger. We need to expedite the death of this individual who threatened us. Quickly and publicly, to serve as warning to those who would follow suit.

Good riddance. Its just too bad that the legal system is built to cater to pieces of shit like this. They should just shoot him in the head behind the jail tomorrow.
