The other day we reported this very serious ethics violation between Spencer-East Brookfield superintendent and School Board Chairman Kevin Hayes. It’s been read almost 30,000 times now and details with undisputed photographic evidence that Kevin Hayes is doing contracted side work on Crowe’s Leicester property.

He is being paid by a woman under his employ and in return he continues to employ her despite the fact that the entire town is calling for her resignation. Meanwhile teachers can be fired if they accept a gift certificate from a thankful student’s parents for Christmas.

It’s the definition of corruption and we have not heard a PEEP from the Telegram and Gazette about it. The Telegram does have a reporter named Kim Ring, whose coverage area revolves around Spencer. Yet she has blatantly ignored this because she is nothing more than a tool for management.

Want more proof that the Telegram is nothing more than an agenda-driven propaganda machine for management? Check out this article from Kim Ring in today’s paper. It’s about State Senator Anne Gobi, and State Representatives Peter Durant and Donald Berthiaume visiting David Prouty High School after the pipes burst, the school flooded, and the ceilings started to fall. Let’s check out some of our favorite parts….

School officials came under fire after a pipe burst during sub-zero temperatures on Feb. 12. State Sen. Anne M. Gobi, D-Spencer, and state Reps. Peter J. Durant and Donald R. Berthiaume Jr., both Spencer Republicans, said they’ve been hearing from constituents who are angry about problems at the school.

First of all, it was not sub-zero on the day the pipe’s burst. The coldest days came on Saturday and Sunday, not on Friday. Secondly, turtle riding nation did this. You people called and complained and told them you weren’t going to stand for it anymore, and they had no choice but to respond. Now we know that this is the sort of direct action that leads to results.

Ms. Gobi said she has encouraged those who contact her to “get involved.” She urged citizens to talk with candidates running for school committee about their position on various issues. She also suggested that there is a “trust issue” in the district.

Newsflash Gobi – parents and taxpayer who contacted you ARE involved. They go to School Committee meetings and ask why their kids don’t have textbooks and they are told by Kevin Hayes and crew that their questions will not be answered:

I love how she says that there is a “trust issue” in the district. As if this is some sort of two way street. There is a trust issue, but it only goes one way. Parents and taxpayers don’t trust school administrators, and with good reason.

The chairman of the school committee, Kevin Hayes, said there has been misinformation about the condition of the building, the burst pipe and work going on to remedy some of the issues. He, along with School Superintendent Nadine Tracy Crowe, wanted legislators to see firsthand what’s happening at the school.

Misinformation? The pipes burst and the school flooded and the building is falling apart. How is this “misinformation?” LOL. I love how he tells Kim Ring this stuff and she just writes it down as fact. Why would Kim Ring want to actually do her job and ask tough questions when she can kiss management’s ass instead?

Ms. Gobi said the school department needs to communicate better with residents. “You can’t allow the bloggers to control the conversation,” she said. “My job as a senator is to advocate for funding and policies that will help you.”

She’s absolutely right on that one. She’s right in that the school department needs to get their shit together. You can’t just ignore people who are upset that their kids are getting the screw job. You can’t pretend that things are going great when your district is in chaos. You can’t give the townsfolk no choice but to turn to Turtleboy for help. When you’re running a school district one of your primary goals should be to stay out of the papers. And you do that by making people happy and giving them what they want when it’s reasonable to do so. Crowe and Hayes have done the exact opposite.

Oh yea, and Hayes talked about that six figure investigation into the two teachers who ate a piece of pizza at a banquet for kids:

Some residents who have contacted legislators are upset about the condition of the school and because of a recent investigation into the possibility that funds from student activity accounts are missing. While a report more than 300 pages long was released, Mr. Hayes said school committee members have not been shown the final documents because dealing with the outcome of the activity funds investigation does not fall within their purview.

“It’s an administrative issue and we’re a legislative body,” Mr. Hayes said. “We have no role in it.”

Wait, wait, wait. Hold on a minute. So you’re saying that the investigation that you voted to put together, which was paid for by the taxpayers and has cost the district hundreds of thousands of dollars that they don’t have, was completed a while ago and now you’re not gonna tell the people what the results are because “It’s an administrative issue and we’re a legislative body?” What does that even mean?? Evidently it means he’s passing the buck:

It will be the building principals who decide, after reading the final report on the investigation, whether any punishment will be meted out.

Oh the principals will decide!! That makes TONS of sense. After all, both the principal (Patricia Jordan) and vice principal (Christopher Lowe) have been at David Prouty for all of two months. Sure, neither of them worked in the building when the two teachers were put under investigation. But that doesn’t mean they’re not qualified to fire them and hire their replacements.

For the record, Patricia Jordan has brought in a scab to run the school play. It’s going over great with the kids:

Wait a minute, hold on. The new play director won’t pay for the rights to a real musical, so instead they’ve told the students to write the play themselves?? And they have to name it “David Prouty: The Musical?” That might be the most bootleg thing I’ve ever heard. Hey kids, we’re gonna fire your favorite teacher and play director and replace them with your scab friend from outside the district who has no idea what they are doing and is collecting an easy stipend. Because this administration is fixated with taking everything good away from the kids and telling them to settle for sub par. Just ask the cheerleading team:

Do you see what they did there? Prinicpal Eileen Belastock fell off the face of the earth in early December. No one has seen or heard from her and the district isn’t saying anything. Is she alive? None of your business taxpayer!!! But she was replaced by Jordan, who is a tool for management, right before the investigation was completed, and now Jordan is replacing the two teachers that administration targeted and replacing them with their friends. Hmmmmmmm….interesting timing!! Nothing fishy about that.

Check out what State Rep Berthiaume had to say:

Mr. Berthiaume said a barrage of social media postings about the burst pipe made the situation sound dire.

“You had one teacher … who posted, ‘Help me, I can’t breathe,'” he said, adding that there were allusions to asbestos. “That’s pretty serious when you have someone posting something like that.”

Oh yea? Which teacher wrote that on social media? Oh that’s right, he can’t name the person because he’s literally making that up. Berthiaume is a conservative (not that there’s anything wrong with that), and one of the tenets that many of his ilk subscribe to is that teachers are lazy, whining complainers by nature.

10269401_1487618744835565_7024580870094511297_n

Nevertheless, the nerve of this dooshnozzle to try and say that the teachers were trying to “make the situation sound dire.” Hey moron – the situation WAS dire!! The school had to be evacuated because it flooded and there was no heat. The principal and superintendent were in Arizona at a conference. Ceilings were falling on teachers heads. On what planet are you living on where this is not a dire situation??

You wanna know why Spencer is the way it is? Because idiots like Donald Berthiaume get elected. Don’t forget this when he’s up for re-election in November. We will gladly endorse anyone who is running against him. Turtleboy Sports supports elected officials who care about the well being of teachers and students, not buttnuts who blame them for complaining about falling ceiling tiles.

Some of the air problems at the school are caused by tampering with, and stacking things on, vents and mechanical exhaust systems in the classrooms. Administrators said some of the teachers shut down the heating and ventilation units because they are noisy.

First of all, how does Kevin Hayes know anything about what teachers are doing to the vents in the classrooms? And even if that was true, what does that say about your building when teachers can’t teach because the heating systems are too loud? The teachers have one job to do every day – teach. Administrators are in charge of making sure there is an environment that is conducive for learning. And if you have heaters that make that impossible, then it means that administrators aren’t doing their job.

Oh right, it’s the teacher’s fault once again. Never mind the fact that they work in a district where the entire heating system revolves around the hope that no one will ever come in contact with this open heater:

Screen-Shot-2015-11-19-at-11.11.55-PM (2)

What could possibly go wrong? It’s not the administration’s fault for not putting a cover on there. It’s the teacher’s fault that this state of the art machine broke down. Definitely.

Anyway, this is why you read Turtleboy. Because without us you’d have to rely on Kim Ring and Kevin Hayes to deliver you news. People want the real story so they ride the turtle because we’re obsessed with facts and the truth.

Now that we know that State Reps will respond if you nag them, it’s important we don’t let up. Keep calling and letting them know that if they’re not going to have the State Ethics Board look into Kevin Hayes and Tracy Crowe, then we’ll replace in November with someone who will. Don’t stop hounding them.
