It only took Lisa Dyer five days to “apologize” for her idiotic, insane letter that she sent the faculty about Janice Harvey’s column in Worcester Magazine. First of all, I just wanna say that people are always shitting on Turtleboy writers for not revealing their names. Do you understand why we do this now? Because when you use your real name the Lisa Dyer’s of the world call you racist and try to ruin your reputation. Secondly though, Lisa Dyer’s email “apology” was the worst apology in the history of apologies. Italicized is what she wrote, followed by our response:

“Dear Staff at North High,

Over the past few weeks, North High has been experiencing success in coming through what has been a trying time for students and staff. Because of that success, forward momentum and all of your hard work, my intent in my recent letter to staff was to ask everyone to stay focused on and remain committed to positive attitudes, actions and the courageous work that was leading to a significant change in culture, climate and safety in our school.

Newsflash – a real apology doesn’t waste so much time rationalizing the mistake you made. No one gives a shit what your intent was. That’s not at all relevant in an apology.

Unfortunately, I reacted personally and hastily to an article that I felt had the great potential to draw us back to the negative place we had emerged from and back into the media spotlight. I apologize and regret the results of my actions.

Translation – I was doing the right thing, but I don’t like the negative backlash that came along with it. I’m sorry I was so stupid to think that you people would hold onto the email and not give it to Turtleboy Sports. I now realize that people actually like Turtleboy and agree with what he writes, and no one really believes the bullshit that Coming Together Circlejerk made me say. I don’t really regret taking cheap shots at one of my teachers, but I definitely regret the fact that Turtleboy got ahold of it.

Here’s a question – WHY do you regret it? Do you regret calling one of your teachers racist? Do you regret being manipulated by the Coming Together Circlejerk? Do you regret trying to ruin someone’s reputation? No, you just regret getting caught.

We all know the majority of students in our school are students of color. Understanding the challenges of a very diverse population is essential to recognize as we deliver the kind of educational setting and opportunities our students deserve and requires the entire school to be committed to these efforts. My passion and commitment to this effort propelled me to write a letter, which resulted in putting us back in the spotlight that I was diligently focused on preventing.

Ya see what she just did there? She literally just justified coming after Janice Harvey for using the term “color blind.” That’s what she just did. The population of North High is “diverse,” so the staff must be “committed to efforts” to focus on the race of the students, rather than focus on their aptitudes. So it was OK for her to call Janice Harvey racist, because her “passion and commitment” is what made her do so.

Please understand, we are doing some REALLY good things together and working on many things for the future. I am fully committed to that work, our students, and you the staff, to accomplish our goals. As I stated in my original letter, over the last few months I have witnessed great resiliency in our staff and students. Let us continue to do what we do best and again grab the reins of our school moving it to greater success.”

Respectfully, Lisa Dyer – Principal

It’s about the kids, blah, blah, blah. Insert buzzwords here.

Hey here’s a question – who was the teacher? I don’t see her name anywhere in that email. Shouldn’t she be apologizing to Janice? Or maybe admit that there isn’t anything racist about using the term “color blind?” Isn’t Janice the one who got fucked over here? Because all I just read was a bunch of fluff in which she tries to explain how the email was a result of the fact that she cares too much about the children.

Just man up and admit it Lisa. It was a Sunday night. You had too much wine with your dinner. You read the Janice Harvey article again, thought she was acting like bee-yoch, and ripped her a new one. We’ve all been there before. At least if you admitted that we could somewhat relate to you. Instead you write this nonsense and just reinforce the fact that you’re a gutless PC ladder climber.

So now that Dyer has admitted she was in the wrong, when do we get the Melinda Boone/Spanky McFarlane apology for supporting her email? After all, she’s admitted it was a mistake. Both of them are on record for commending her. LOL. I’m sure both of those gutless hacks will man up and do the right thing.

The email means nothing. Fire Dyer.

Turtleboy – This blog demonstrates the worst attempt I’ve ever experienced to engage in community commentary. You rationalize your anonymity because of the angry response of others and then engage in the very same behavior and worse. What a waste of community space and time. If you want to do something constructive, then how about engaging in a public debate. I’d be the first to accept the invitation to debate you, but you’d have to come out of hiding to do so. Show us just how smart and articulate you are.

Shes toast. Too little too late. Maybe a little heart inserted into this cold and useless “apology” (that doesnt even apologize to the wrongfully accused) could have went a long way.

Worst apology ever. She only “apologized” because she thinks if she does, then people will stop calling for her resignation. Damage control – epic FAIL!!!!!
