In the least surprising news ever, Attorney General Maura Healey, along with Congressman Jim McGovern, Mayor Joe Petty, and State Representative Mary Keefe have come out publicly and stood by Moses Dixon, despite his past history of being arrested for choking his girlfriend in 2012:

“Democratic officials closed ranks Sunday behind Moses Dixon, the party’s candidate for state representative in the 17th Worcester District, who has been under fire since his involvement in a 2012 domestic assault case has come to light. Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey issued a statement Sunday affirming her endorsement of Mr. Dixon. “I stand by Moses Dixon and hope voters in this district repudiate the ugly, baseless attacks against him by the state Republican Party,” the attorney general said.”

Stop right there. “Baseless attacks against him by the state Republican Party?” Is that what she just referred to Turtleboy as? The State GOP? Newsflash Maura – the Republican Party had nothing to do with this. Indeed they did call on you to pull your endorsement of the woman beater. But that was only after reading our latest bombshell that Moses Dixon hoped to keep hidden – the restraining order that his girlfriend took out against him:

She signed that under penalties of perjury. It happened. She even checked the box that said that she was taking out the protective order because he “placed me in fear of imminent serious physical harm”:

But this is all a Republican Party conspiracy? Sure it is Maura. Or maybe, just MAYBE, people have a problem with domestic violence? Nah, that can’t be it. Must be a GOP conspiracy. They problem forced her to write this affidavit and call the cops with a gun to her head.

A joint statement of support for Mr. Dixon’s candidacy also was released Sunday by U.S. Rep. James McGovern, D-Worcester, Mayor Joseph Petty, state Rep. Mary Keefe, D-Worcester, and City Councilor Sarai Rivera. They said: “If we believed that there was any truth to these allegations, we would urge Moses to withdraw from the race – but that is not the case.”

“In the past week, an allegation made against Moses Dixon four years ago, which was found to be without merit by a court of competent jurisdiction, has been thrust into the public eye by local and state Republicans seeking to use it for political gain. In addition to the Court’s conclusion that this claim was without merit, the allegation has been refuted by both parties to the case. We are proud to support Moses Dixon’s campaign for State Representative for the 17th Worcester District.”

It wasn’t “found to be without merit.” The victim got cold feet and went right back to her abuser, as women who are the victims of domestic violence tend to do. So why wouldn’t they believe there was truth to these allegations? This is a direct quote from Maura Healey’s page about domestic violence on her website:

“Far too few domestic violence incidents are even reported to the police.”

Gee, I wonder why that is? Maybe because the people doing the assaulting are powerful men backed by powerful politicians, and they don’t want their names to be dragged through the mud. Nah, that can’t be it.

When Maura Healey was running for office she had a debate with her democratic opponent Warren Tolman. When asked about domestic violence Healey talked tough about going after people who were accused of domestic violence:

She added that the criminal justice system also must do their part in putting away those who commit acts of domestic violence. “We need to fund the processing of criminal investigations,” noting the backlog of rape kit tests in the state. “Otherwise, survivors are revictimized.”

Put away those who commit acts of domestic violence……unless they’re running for office against a Republican.

Yes Maura, 1 in 3 women have been the victim of domestic violence. And you’re publicly endorsing a man who abused one of these victims.

In April Maura Healey began to endorse tougher laws to combat domestic violence against women. Here is a direct quote from the press release on the issue:

“You can help to create safe environments by promoting and modeling healthy attitudes and relationships, speaking up when you hear problematic comments or rape jokes, and believing and supporting survivors,” she explained.

“Believing and supporting survivors.” That’s what we always hear. People who have been abused or assaulted should be BELIEVED. They are scared and nervous. They need our support, not to be called a liar. I guess for Maura Healey we’re only supposed to believe and support survivors who aren’t making accusations against a candidate for political office.

This was my favorite quote from the Turtlegram article:

“A spokesman for Ms. Healey, David Guarino, said the attorney general had not been aware of the domestic assault allegations from 2012 before she endorsed Mr. Dixon in June.”

In other words, Maura Healey had no idea who Moses Dixon was, but she went to Worcester to support him because the McGovern Crime Family asked her for a favor. Had she known in June that she was endorsing a man who choked a woman she probably would’ve stayed far away. Now she’s stuck with him.

Even Clive McFarlane said this today:

And that’s the really shady part. Moses Dixon tried to hide this from the public. He had the records sealed and the court minutes magically disappeared. You can’t expect something like this to stay hidden, and then when it comes to light say, “This is a Republican conspiracy against me.”  Had he come clean about this from the beginning he knows that no one would have gotten behind him. But he had to hide his dark past because he wanted to become a career politician.

Moses Dixon knows that Turtleboy is on a mission to find the truth and expose him as a fraud. That’s why he did this today:

He blocked us on Twitter because he knows we’re damaging his brand. He wants to hide things from us, just like he’s been hiding this arrest from the public. Little does he know that we have a million Twitter handles that we have created just to see the profiles of people who have blocked us. That’s not how the Internet works Moses. Nothing remains hidden for too long.

The bottom line is that you cannot vote or support for Moses Dixon unless you hate women. Like these people who were still campaigning for him yesterday despite the damning evidence against him:

Those are the faces of people who put the party before safety of women. They know it and we know it. We strongly urge every single decent person in Leicester and South Worcester to vote for Kate Campanale on November 8.
