Missing Dogs Of Massachusetts Helps Find Holden Dog Alive After 10 Days, Which Is Why You Should Never Pay To Have Someone Find Your Dog

Last week we shared a post about a missing dog named Callie.

The owner contacted Missing Dogs of Massachusetts, a nonprofit with a team of volunteers that has an impeccable record of finding missing pooches. They immediately went to work, going door to door in the Jefferson/Holden area, handing out fliers, putting up cameras, and telling people to be on the lookout. She was seen by a couple people a few days later but ran back into the woods. Then yesterday this happened:

The guy who found the dog hanging out with his cows was keeping an eye out for the dog specifically because of MDM. According to Callie’s owner they don’t think she would’ve made it much longer so MDM likely saved her life.

This is why you should never pay to have someone find a missing dog for you. It’s completely understandable that you would feel vulnerable if your dog goes missing, and every night that passes you feel more and more desperate. But this is what people who charge you to find your missing dog prey on – your vulnerability and desperation. MDM will help you find your missing dog for free.

Unfortunately this makes MDM a target of for profit dog tracking companies. These companies have the resources to silence volunteers who urge people not to get suckered into paying someone to provide a service where the outcome is not guaranteed. They can hire attorneys and go after volunteers for allegedly interfering with their business. These are just regular people with jobs who find dogs in their free time, and they’re sometimes in a position where they can’t afford to defend themselves.

But as you saw with Callie, and many other stories just like it, they do an invaluable service for the community.

Are you suggesting that going to a non-profit is better than using a service like Packleader Petrackers or Jamie Genereux?

Is that because Genereux tells people that their dog is dead when it is not? Is it because he’s a fraud and a thief?

    Asking for a friend….

Whatever became of Jamie Sh**4brains? How can one even sue a volunteer org for “taking business away?” SMH. Good job, MDM. BTW, no business could possibly do what a dedicated group of collies can do, whether postingfliers or just keeping eyes open.

    All this “caring” for dogs.

    What about our veterans?

Indeed! Without them who would provide medical treatment to our beloved pets?

Animal people don’t think that way. Their priorities are different.

Paraphrasing the late, great Dale Earnhardt when “I brake for animals” bumper stickers were the thing.

“I like animals, but if I’m behind the wheel and it’s the animal or me crashing my car I’m picking me.
        It’s just an animal.”

About a month ago, I watched as Malden firefighters and a woman from MDM rescued some ducklings from a storm drain in Malden.

    Very professional and caring.

Imagine if this dog wasn’t a minority! They would have found a White Lab without delay and whats more is they KNOW pit bulls are POC so they didn’t look anywhere near large white cows which they know are favorites of POC.

You must hate yourself. Cats’ tongues are all rough and scratchy and they’re always playing head games. You need to find yourself a good dog. You’ll never go back.

My 9 year old kid said he’d put up his holiday money he’d saved as a reward for finding this dog, even though no-one wanted him to and the owner told him to “fuck right off, you annoying little cunt”.

So for that reason I’m starting a GoFundMe to find this already found dog.

This is completely legit and above board. I am definitely not a bleached banana clam, so just send me your fucking money now.

“They immediately went to work, going door to door … ” This is exactly what I suggested those jackbooted, Lawrence firemen should have done , but now it is too late for poor Alexander. He has had to withstand the hate, vitriol and ire of the Lawrence FD. His car has been destroyed as well as his faith in America.

I am so sick of hearing about missing dogs. Keep you dogs fenced and leashed and take care of the damn things. We need more coyotes to take care of these loose cats and dogs.

More concern for a missing dog than a missing person.

I’m not buying the fact that every company that charges for looking acts the same way.

I bet you won’t see this on the MSM!!! Typical liberal media. We need to support the troops because no one does! So what if I’m afraid of things I don’t understand? People that are different from me are bad! I’m not insecure, everyone else is.

10-15 thumbs up for MDM! Thank you, you amazing group of volunteers who help heartbroken owners be reunited with their beloved pups

People, Don’t fall for a scam from unscrupulous evil people, trying to scam you at your most vulnerable time. No matter how desperately you want to recover your pet, do not give money to someone to do it.

They (at least one in particular) will incorrectly claim you dog drowned, or otherwise died, while collecting their full fee
