WCVBAll schools in Nashua, New Hampshire, will be closed Monday due to what authorities call a “specific threat of violence directed toward both Nashua Public High Schools.”

Nashua Police Lt. Kerry Baxter’s statement indicates the threat was received by the school district Sunday.

“The Nashua Police Department is currently working closely with the Nashua School District Administration as well as several state and federal law enforcement agencies to determine the credibility of the threat,” Baxter wrote.

The district’s website confirms all schools will be closed on Dec. 21. Schools are expected to reopen Tuesday.

“We have received a detailed threat of violence to harm students and staff at both high schools,” Superintendent Mark Conrad said in a statement provided by the district. “The threat is specific to tomorrow (Monday). We have been working closely with the Nashua Police Department, which is still working at this time (Sunday) to determine the credibility of the threat.”

Look, Turtleboy is all for student safety, but we have to draw the line somewhere. We don’t like where this is going. This same thing happened in Los Angeles last week. The fact of the matter is that the school district hadn’t determined if this was a credible threat. No one got arrested. There are no suspects. So why should an entire school district get shut down? I understand the need to err on the side of caution, but keep in mind the bag of fun this is gonna open up going forward. If you have a big test the next day, then the blueprint to get out of it is pretty clear – anonymous threat.

And what exactly is a “detailed threat of violence to harm students and staff at both high schools?” Did the person say they were gonna walk into both schools and shoot up the place? Newsflash – anyone who really wants to do that is gonna do it. They’re not gonna give you a warning email first.

Oh yea, and the timing is interesting isn’t it? New Hampshire is about to have their Presidential primary, and their second biggest city just shut down their schools for a day, right before Christmas, because of a terror threat. I’m just gonna come out and say it – I smell Trump. The timing is too perfect for him. ISIS in New Hampshire? Makes me wanna vote for Trump. And if you don’t think Trump is capable of something like this, then you don’t know Trump like Turtleboy does.

Here’s the thing – it’s probably just some loser kid who thought it would be funny. Because high school kids are dumbasses by nature. No offense to high school kids, but you know there are legions of dumbasses walking the halls with you on a daily basis. And whatever kid did this needs to go to Guantanamo Bay for at least 20 years. It’s the only way we set an example. We shouldn’t have to choose between safety and running our schools. If you called in a threat because you thought it was funny, you’re still a terrorist. And terrorists go to Gitmo.

The bottom line is that the whole purpose of terrorism is to use fear in order to force the government to change the way it does business. In America we go to school on Mondays. We just let the terrorists win. Take a lap Nashua.

Nobody wants to be the one that doesn’t take it seriously and it end up actually happening. I agree that 99% of all these threats are empty and won’t amount to anything, and every time we give in to it we take one more step in that direction but I really can’t blame the administration of any school system for “playing it safe”.

We need to start making the punishment for these “fake threats” more severe. Kids and parents think it’s unfair for immediate expulsion and jail time on top of it? Too bad, teach your kid that prank terrorist threats are not a joke. Send a couple to jail and you’ll see a quick drop.

    Ya I dont get this.

I think I heard of a district in Cali who had the same threats last week and still held school.

Gonna be alot of copy cats and kids with voice changers trying to skip out of school anytime of yr but with the recent attacks, its probly a little more than usual.
