Is Turtleboy nervous for this Patriots game against the Chiefs? Surprisingly the answer is yes. For the first time this season Turtleboy is genuinely nervous. The Chiefs are the worst possible matchup for us. No way we would’ve lost to Cinci or Pittsburgh or the Jets or Houston. But Kansas City has won 11 games in a row, they have a quarterback who is basically 2001 Tom Brady and never makes big mistakes, and they have a defensive front that is as good as anyone at getting to the quarterback.

Three things about the Chiefs give me confidence going into this game:

  1. Jeremy Maclin might not play, and even if he does, he won’t be 100%. The Chiefs had ZERO touchdown passes to wide receivers last year before he came to town. Without him and Jamal Charles, their offense is a joke.
  2. Andy Reid coaches this team. Andy Reid is a fat, sloppy, joke of a coach. If it comes down to being a close game, I would have zero faith as a Chiefs fan that Andy Reid can out-coach the greatest coaching mind in the history of sports.
  3. They are the Chiefs. I have nothing against them, and if they were playing any other team in the playoffs right now, I’d probably root for them. But this is a team that hasn’t won a meaningful game since Lyndon Johnson was President.

I believe in this Patriots team. I believe this is God’s plan for the Patriots. He has challenged our strength and resolve since we got too cocky halfway through the season. He has taken Dion Lewis, Edelman, Jamie Collins, and countless others for prolonged periods of time. He has allowed Roger Goodell to steal that game from us in Denver. He made Chandler Jones smoke a bunch of K2 and turn himself into the police. He made us all shit our pants when we thought Gronk was done for the season.

And despite all these things we have not lost the faith, and we don’t intend to now. It’s our destiny to win our fifth Super Bowl in Super Bowl 50. It’s perfectly divisible. It will give Brady one more ring than Montana and Bradshaw. It will validate the unprecedented witch hunt known as Deflategate. It will be the ultimate fuck you to a commissioner who has conspired with ESPN to cover up, make up, and fabricate story after story so as to permanently damage the greatest quarterback and coach the league has ever seen.

More than anything, I cannot freaking WAIT to see Julian Edelman out there today. Turtleboy has missed him so, so much. Growing up Troy Brown was always Turtleboy’s favorite player because he was so shifty and versatile. Edelman is the new Troy Brown, and he returns to the field ready to play today. Oh yea, and he just happened to put together one of the awesomest pump up videos we’ve ever seen:

That video gives me chills. God bless Julian Edelman. God bless the New England Patriots. God bless freedom.
