Nike Chose Cop Hating Colin Kaepernick Instead Of Brave Sexual Assault Survivor Aly Raisman To Be Their Spokesperson And Lost $3 Billion Because Millenials Shouldn’t Make Marketing Decisions

Hey fam – if you’d like to support Turtleboy and what we do here, feel free to hit the donate button at the top. We basically have to run this site like a Bernie Sanders campaign now since we’ve been blacklisted by Google and Facebook, due to the fact that rabid SJWs keep reporting our posts. Getting blacklisted by Google is a death sentence for most websites, since it’s much harder to monetize. And we all know the damage Facebook has done. We’re never going to stop fighting for free speech, but in the meantime the best way for turtle riders to fight back is to donate to the cause. Without you people none of this is possible. We love you all.

Everyone on social media has been buzzing the last 24 hours about this:

Unemployed social justice warrior Colin Kaepernick is now the face of Nike.

“Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything.”

Except Colin Kaepernick has been getting checks from Nike this entire time:

So what did he sacrifice? Prior to his newfound wokeness he was a backup quarterback nearing age 30, on the brink of becoming the guy the next failed Cleveland Browns savior. He probably made just as much money leading this anti-police movement as he did making sure the bench didn’t fly away so Blaine Gabbert could have a place to sit when the defense was on the field. He didn’t lose his house, car, or starting position in the NFL (because he wasn’t a starter). He turned down multiple opportunities to sign with teams, because he knew he had a steady income the whole time.

He also doesn’t really believe in anything he’s doing. He had the world’s largest platform in February of 2013 when he was a starting quarterback in the Super Bowl. He said nothing about police brutality at the time, because apparently it wasn’t invented until Michael Brown.

He doesn’t talk either. He’s never once had a press conference about this, so he clearly isn’t that passionate about what he’s doing. He’s not articulate, and can’t communicate the right talking points, which is why his activism mainly consists of retweeting memes and Shaun King posts.

He didn’t start caring about police brutality until he started dating his washed up MTV girlfriend, who is a SJW extraordinaire. She actually does most of the talking for him, because he’s not a bright person and he’d probably fuck it up:

Colin Kaepernick is the first quarterback in history to be pussy whipped out of the NFL. Sad.

What’s really sad is that in the last few months we have seen four south shore cops within a 50 mile radius get shot, two of them fatally. When Colin Kaepernick kneels during the anthem he isn’t protesting America or the troops. He’s protesting police. People forget that as this has become a Murica thing. The protest has nothing to do with soldiers or foreign policy, as Kaepernick doesn’t know anything about that. It has everything to do with the anti-police culture that people like him have helped foster in this country.

And this is why I’m going to make an effort to try to not buy Nike moving forward. Because they’re supporting a man who is attacking the police, and I’ve spoken with so many police officers and their families, many of who are frightened that they could be next. The whole, “prisons are too crowded” bullshit that Kaepernick spews is the reason that most of these cop killers are free in the first place. It’s the reason Michael Chesna hesitated to shoot his “unarmed” attacker.  People like Colin Kaepernick get people killed, and this is not something I can support.

The problem is I love Nike. Probably 60% of my clothing is Nike. They make the best everything. Luckily I already own a shitload of Nike, so I can hold onto that while also refusing to buy more Nike shit. I’m not a boycotter by nature, and I will buy Nike if I see something I have to have, but I will make a conscious effort to buy their competitors whenever the opportunity arises.

The funniest part about all of this is that the people who are applauding Nike are mostly SJWs. These are the same people who would feign outrage if they could see the Vietnamese sweatshops these sneakers were manufactured in. Nike played them all. They convinced a bunch of 27 year old white millenials that they’re woke for buying shoes made by an 8 year old who they paid 19 cents an hour to work 14 hours a day.

The anthem protest really only boils down to one thing – it’s bad for business. Ratings and sales declined heavily last year, and there’s a good chance the protesting played a factor in that. When you do something at work that costs your employer money, they have every right to tell you to stop doing that. NBA players, most of who are black, aren’t allowed to kneel during the anthem because the league put a stop to that 20 years ago. No one complains.

But it doesn’t stop LeBron James, Gregg Popovich, and many others from loudly ripping Donald Trump and stating their political opinions. These people have millions of followers. If they want to get their message out they can, and they have the right to. They just don’t have the right to do it on the clock, especially if it’s costing management money. See? It’s really not that hard.

I for one was never really that outraged by the protest itself. I know a lot of people who were, but when I’m at a game I’m almost always taking a whiz or buying a beer during the anthem, because there’s no line. I don’t stand up for the anthem when I’m at home, and if I’m actually in my seat I stand and double check my fantasy team. I can’t pretend like the protest itself offends me. I just can’t stand that they think they can do this on the job and everyone else is supposed to be cool with it.

All opinions on the anthem protest aside, this is quite possibly the dumbest marketing move in the history of capitalism. As Clay Travis claims Michael Jordan once said – Republicans buy sneakers too. There’s nothing dumber a company can do that force their political opinions on potential customers. It’s a great way to lose half your sales. And if there’s one thing conservatives are better at than liberals, it’s boycotts. Unlike David Hogg’s people who boycotted a bunch of places they never went to in the first place, conservatives are stubborn and are willing to sit out an entire year of football to prove a point. I didn’t think they had it in them. I called their bluff previously. I was wrong. These mother fuckers mean business.

The fact of the matter is that whether or not you respect him, Colin Kaepernick is one of the most polarizing people in the world. He hates the police with a burning passion. He’s shown that by wearing pig socks:

And tweeting out that cops are modern day slave catchers:

He is so, so, so stupid, that he once wore a Fidel Castro shirt to a press conference after a game in Miami, which is filled with anti-Castro dissidents.

A reporter who questioned him about it came here as a child after fleeing Cuba. His father found out at the airport that the Castro regime was forcing him to stay behind. He never saw him again. The man lived through tyranny and has actual knowledge of what it’s like to grow up under a dictator like Castro. Here’s what Kaepernick told him in response:

He praised the educational and prison systems of an oppressive dictator, whose literacy rates are all determined by state run media. He said that incarcerating murderers in America made us a bad country. This is a very, very stupid man, and it’s INSANE that the left hasn’t figured this out yet. The woke blue checkmark who tweeted that out called it a “right wing reporter attack.” Meanwhile he’s a sheltered white American, and the right winger he’s mocking has lived through actual oppression.

Nike could’ve picked anyone for this campaign. Aly Raisman this year led a REAL movement against REAL oppression. She, unlike Kaepernick, has actually won something and is still at the top of her game. She chose to use her platform to bravely confront the monster who sexually assaulted her as a child. Because of her hundreds of other girls came forward as well. This is bravery. Colin Kaepernick couldn’t hold her jock strap.

More importantly, everyone likes Aly Raisman. She was the star of two gold medal winning teams. She restored greatness to the sport that is the highest rated event of the Summer Olympics, for the first time since 1996. There isn’t a single American who has any reason to dislike her. She is a household name, and the idea person you want as a frontman. But she doesn’t take a knee to protest the police, so they had no use for her.

It boggles my mind that Nike is run this poorly. This is a multi-billion dollar company after all. But the problem is that they’ve obviously hired too many woke 27 year old Ivy League grads, who are so blind and separated from mainstream America that they believe this will win them praise. It’s like they have no idea how polarizing this clown is. Look what their idiot VP of branding had to say:

“One of the most inspirational athletes of his generation.”

Even if you’re dumb enough to believe that, how do you not realize that so many of your customers hate this guy? The purpose of a company is to make money, not save the world, But companies like Facebook, Twitter, and Nike are now run by pinhead millenials who don’t understand this. Just look at this boob:

That is the face of every Seattle area doofus ever.

This is what happens when you let political ideology dictate your marketing strategy:

https://twitter.com/michaeljknowles/status/1037000397620015104

No big deal. Just a $3 billion hit in one day. Investors are not happy:

Smart move.

And yes, Adidas and Puma are down as well, but not even remotely close to what Nike is. Under Armour is up:

This will go down as one of the dumbest business decisions ever. It’s too bad because I love Nike, but I just can’t support lunacy like this.

I’ll never put on another piece of Nike gear for the rest of my life and I know millions of others feel exactly the same way. Piss on Nike and their sweatshop-produced crapola.

Im nobody, but has anyone even seen anything hes done in the off season to stand against these oppresive “pigs” as he calls them?!? Not a word from him, but as soon as the season starts up his name appears in every headline, now his ugly face will be the benchmark of Nike, a once good brand. Hes a fake, dumb as a cup a dirt, and only doing this for the money. Why do they give such dumb shits camera time???

Aly Raisman. Had nothing to say about Larry Nassar when she was a USA Gymnastics Team member/ambassador. Then she wrote a book. And now she won’t shut the fuck about him.

TB needs to expand his/her ‘shoe’ horizons, for there are far better choices (thank GOD for market based, good old American capitalism!):

    – for those of us who work/work outside>
    Carolina or Timberland

    – anyone who jogs/runs knows>
    New Balance

    -hiking?
Merrill, Keen or Solomon (best hiking shoe I’ve ever owned)

    -dress and/or casual?
Rockports were great until Reebok swallowed them up

On the flip side to this, a champion of his sport last year, Martin Truex Jr. nascar driver for the furniture row team will need to find a new team next year and is currently a free agent. It was announced today that the owner of his team cannot find sponsorship and will be disbanding after the season. He announced it today, even though the season ends in november, so that his employees can start trying to look now in hopes of future employment with a new team next year. Trump made a big deal of truex when he visited the white house a month or so ago because nascar has a strict policy of no kneeling during the anthem.

Nascar has a lot of problems similar to the nfl but on a smaller scale. Sponsorship from a huge brand like Nike would mean a lot to that sport. Its sad when a champion like truex (i don’t know a whole lot about him, but he overall seems like a good guy) is basically out of a job right now. Maybe he should take a knee at the next race and see if Nike pays him.

He didn’t ever want to “sacrifice everything”, and he has been bitching and moaning for years about nobody signing him (actually he did get offers but he turned them down). This is not a guy who had any intention of sacrificing financially to stand by his believes. What a pussy.

I buy Kirkland sneakers at Costco. $16.99. Full leather and gel supports and all. I’m laughing at Nike every time I buy my Costco sneakers.
