Hey fam – if you’d like to support Turtleboy and what we do here, feel free to hit the donate button at the top. We basically have to run this site like a Bernie Sanders campaign now since we’ve been blacklisted by Google and Facebook, due to the fact that rabid SJWs keep reporting our posts. Getting blacklisted by Google is a death sentence for most websites, since it’s much harder to monetize. And we all know the damage Facebook has done. We’re never going to stop fighting for free speech, but in the meantime the best way for turtle riders to fight back is to donate to the cause. Without you people none of this is possible. We love you all.

There’s a Facebook page called “New England Patriots Nation,” which has over 121,000 followers. They attract people to their page in a similar way that Greg Bates does with North Shore Eats – by getting people to share their content with the hopes of winning prizes. Not just regular prizes though – big shit:

\

Four season tickets in row five of section 125??? Those are corner end zone seats. Four of them!!  On top of that you also get parking passes (worth over $500 a piece), VIP pregame passes (not sure what that means, but sounds expensive), and a $500 Visa gift card for food and drinks.

A lot of people over the last year have messaged us about this page, accusing them of being fake. It’s definitely shady. Who the hell has four season tickets five rows from the end zone to donate to a random, unaffiliated fan Facebook page? It’s not like these are Browns tickets either. We good and shit. Kind of coveted tickets.

To get Patriots season tickets takes a long time. I know people who put in for them before they won their first Super Bowl and didn’t get them until 2009. Their seats were in the second to last row, but they move up every year. Now they’re about 8 rows from the back in the 300 section. That means whoever owns these tickets has probably had them for a long, long time. Way before Gillette Stadium was even planned for construction. Real diehards.

Tickets for the Texans home opener in that section right now are going for $589 a piece. Packers Week 9 tickets are going for $889 in that section, a few rows back from where these tickets allegedly are. Even Dolphins tickets are $599 in that section, and they suck.

Realistically those tickets are worth an average about $2,500 a game, for 8 home games. That’s a $20,000 value!! Plus the parking tickets, VIP pregame tickets, and $500 gift card. Eat your heart out Bob Barker!! And all you have to do to get them is….

Like, share, or tag someone you know on the post. You get 5 entries in their raffle (whoever they are) by tagging a friend, three for sharing, and one for liking. This is Greg Bates 101 shit. It’s an age old tactic that page administrators use to bring cheap traffic to their page. When you like a post on a Facebook page it shows up in your news feed. If you have 500 friends maybe 3-4 of them are intrigued enough to follow that page. If you share it then more people see it, and if you tag a new person then all your friends AND all their friends see it.

Of course you can get 12 entries into this raffle if you buy a shirt. This is where it brings you to when you click that link:

Teechip is a site where anyone can design a t-shirt and sell it to strangers. They keep a cut and you get a cut.

Except here’s the problem – how does the admin of this page know which Facebook user bought the t-shirts? The admin of this page does not work for Facebook, so they wouldn’t be able to track the cookies between the Facebook page and the t-shirt site. You also don’t use your Facebook name when you buy a shirt on the t-shirt site. There would be no way of them knowing who to give  12 entries into their raffle to.

In case you haven’t figured it out yet, here’s how the scam likely works:

  • They pretend to be some sort of official and affiliated Patriots fan page by posting memes and doing giveaways
  • They build up a large following to their page by using the “comment, share, tag” tactics, with the end goal of selling Patriots t-shirts – the more people who follow the page the more t-shirts they sell
  • There are no season tickets or passes, but a bunch of people buy their crappy t-shirts with the hopes of hitting it big. Even if they lose they think they’re getting a shirt from an affiliated fan page, but if they win they’re winning a prize worth over $20,000.

So how do they get away with not giving out season tickets? Well, if you followed the North Shore Eats series we did then you’ll remember Chrissy Langdon – Greg Bates’ alter ego who frequently won his raffles. Let’s see who won the most recent raffle:

Lisa Anderson of Boston. The most generic and untraceable name possible. They picked the biggest city in New England, where there’s probably a couple hundred Lisa Anderson’s. A Lisa Anderson from Sutton would be a lot easier to track down and/or identify as fake than a Lisa Anderson from Boston. How did they choose her? Who knows? Because no one actually gets to see the raffle. I guess we will just have to trust this anonymous Facebook page run by mystery people and assume this is on the up and up.

They’re also giving out a prize worth over $20,000, and they don’t even get a picture with the winner. They don’t say who was kind enough to donate these coveted seats in one of Tom Brady’s final years before the Patriots go back to being mediocre either.

We have to assume that Lisa Anderson either commented on, liked, or shared the Facebook page too. Either that or she bought a t-shirt and they magically were able to figure out that she did so. So then why hasn’t Lisa commented under the post? She commented BEFORE she won this huge prize, but she hasn’t said a word now that she won the prize.

This is actually a common theme with all of their raffle giveaways. Not once has a winner ever shown up in the comments. And after a while they delete all records of the giveaway contests. They did 3-4 last August, all of which are gone now. In other words, they’ve erased their tracks. It appears to outsiders like it’s nothing more than a page that attracts people by sharing cliche Patriots stuff. But in reality people are drawn to the free giveaways and buy crappy t-shirts in the hopes of winning prizes that likely don’t exist.

We messaged the page for comment on this but have not heard back from them. I wonder if Lisa Anderson got the same treatment. We’ve also spoken to a few people who were suspicious and commented on their page, asking for the official rules or any other information about the raffles to show their legitimacy. All of them have been blocked by this page, and Phil Prentiss expects to be blocked shortly.

Test it out turtle riders. Go to their page and post in the comments, asking for some sort of proof that Lisa Anderson received this tickets. Maybe even link this blog. Ask them where they got the tickets from. Ask them who runs the page. Ask them if they are a registered business or a non-profit. Anything to clear the air a little bit.

Because right now it looks like they’re committing fraud, running a non-registered commercial business from a Facebook page, and leading gullible people into believing that they’re affiliated with the Patriots (how else would they have four season tickets and VIP access?). See if you get banned, or if they bother commenting back.

Maybe they are actually a legit organization giving people $20,000 gifts out of the kindness of their hearts. But since they’re profiting off of the page with the crappy t-shirts it’s incumbent upon them to show that this is not a scam. Thus far all they’ve done is make it look shadier by blocking anyone who asks tough questions.

There was, might still be a “Bruins” page that was doing similar giveaways, Got blocked when Id call them out for John Smith from Cape Cod or Jane Doe from Rhode Island winning all the time

Think Senorita Peanut Butter Legs is going to give back the 5 checks due to arrive in her mailbox tomorrow?

Pretty good scam, almost legal doesn’t rip people off enough for them to pursue and after all they get do get a crappy shirt. After hours of browsing and carpel tunnel in both wrists and shoulders, this may be the Anderesen woman you are looking for.

Lisa won on the 20th, I thought the drawing was on the 26th. I guess I’ll have to return all those shirts I purchased last Saturday.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some digging were done that the same people were also doing the same thing for other NFL teams that have tickets that are next to impossible to get.

These folks are probably from Nigeria or the Ukraine. Fat chance for the authorities catching them.

    BTW:

Fix the web page. Go to the bottom, something pops up on the lower left with a progress bar and I end up being redirected to a TB woonsocket page. Pops up right at the comments start.

Adblocker has killed that MoFo for now.

Yeah no shit. Talk about fucking annoying. I swear sometimes they go out of their way to make this site difficult to navigate, with all the pops, scrolling article list, auto redirects.

I’m going to start calling the advertisers and tell them I cant read their ad because I keep getting redirected so fast… “I’d really love to be a customer but the ad you have on Turtleboy goes by so fast because they have this fucking annoying redirect on their page and I can’t read your ad.”

My ad blocking browser on my tablet doesn’t block that fucking button – yet. I think it’s related to the new “share” thingy that’s at the bottom now. I’d hate to dump TB because of it.

Turtleboy is unreadable on a tablet or phone with all the ad overlays. Only my laptop with ad blocker makes it usable. Probably explains why there is a 90% drop-off in comments these days compared to 6 months ago.

Isn’t purchasing something to increase your odds of winning against the law?

Asking for a friend who bought a crappy shirt…

Hey, what do you expect from Patriots fans? Add together the IQ of the entire stadium of fans and you still do not exceed the retard level. They deserve to get scammed. They’ve been getting scammed by Bob Kraft and the NFL for years now.

Another scenario where Maura Healey should be looking into this for the protection of Massachusetts residents (her constituents), but she’s too busy trying to sue the president.
Also, here’s a legitimate issue for Facebook to investigate, but they’re too busy silencing the mass majority (anyone not racially left/liberal).

You gotta take it or leave it.
