Source: Pepsi has announced that it will pull the controversial ad released late Tuesday featuring Kendall Jenner at a protest handing a soda to an on-duty officer. “Pepsi was trying to project a global a message of unity, peace and understanding,” said a Wednesday statement. “Clearly, we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are pulling the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position.” The project, which the company called a “short film,” was widely panned for appropriating protest culture and trivializing unrest for the purpose of selling a product. Jenner removes her makeup and wig at a photoshoot, throwing it at an assistant, before joining a crowd of demonstrators for an unspecified movement. When she gives the officer the soda, the crowd erupts in cheers.

This is the dumbest commercial that never became a commercial. And it was made by a multi-billion dollar, international corporation, that probably spent millions of dollars on a marketing team. And this was their finished product. That’s the most remarkable part about this. It wasn’t the brain child of one moron in a rush to beat a deadline. A group of people with MBA’s and extensive marketing experience came up with this, put it together, reviewed it, had a chance to pull it, and still said, “this is gonna be a hit!”

First of all, what the hell was that even supposed to be? There’s two kinds of rallies – right wing and left wing. Right wing rallies revolve around lower taxes, abortion, and the gays. Left wing rallies revolve around Trump, jealousy of people who make more money than the protesters, and ways to identify as an oppressed person.

But did you see the signs they were holding?

Join the conversation? Yea, that’s a sign you see at a lot of rallies. Right next to, “Water is wet.”

Obviously what Pepsi was trying to do here was recreate some protest-du jour, without making it look like they’re glamorizing left-wing protests, lest they trigger the 60 million people who voted for Trump. Thus the neutral signs, as opposed to “not my president,” or “black lives matter.”

But there’s been so many protests recently that I can’t keep track of which is which. All I know is, this was obviously supposed to be a left-leaning protest. Because at left-leaning protests it’s always the same exact people who are protesting. And they’re mostly younger, unsuccessful losers, whining about the ways they’re oppressed, mixed in with some rich white chicks who think they’re fixing racism. Kendall Jenner was obviously supposed to fill the void of the latter:

The remarkable part about this particular commercial is they managed to find a way to trigger both right wing and left wing fanatics. On the right the beef was obvious.  They’re trying to recreate a black lives matter/not my president/don’t grab my pussy rally without coming out and saying it. They’re trying to shove multiculturalism down your throat, and pretend that Muslim chicks with nose rings is a thing.

They’re trying to make you embrace dudes in drag:

They’re trying to make it look like the police are soulless killing machines who can only be humanized when a millionaire object of lust shows up and gives them a Pepsi.

So I get why right-wingers wouldn’t like the commercial.

But left-wingers? What’s the problem here exactly? They’re the experts at finding things to be offended by. Oh right, they were “appropriating protest culture and trivializing unrest for the purpose of selling a product.” Ya got that? Appropriating protest culture is a thing now. What these losers are doing is so serious, and so dignified, that you can’t recreate it in pop culture. This is how stupid they are. A group of people who fed into a false narrative of “hands up don’t shoot” and wore gigantic vaginas on their faces, doesn’t want their protest culture be trivialized for the purpose of selling carbonated sugar water. Welcome to SJW 101.

Anyway, it’s hilarious how badly Pepsi tried and failed. They really thought they found some way to create a politically neutral commercial about protesting that wouldn’t offend either side. Instead they pissed off everyone and paid a Kardashian a whole lot of money for ultimately doing nothing.

I still take Pepsi over Coke any day of the week though.

Liberals bitch and whine no matter what. Even horseshit commercials intended to make the SJW crowd look cool are offensive to said SJW crowd. This generation will look back in shame at its own pathetic thin skinned weakness.

Actually, Coke is the one that screwed up when they introduced New Coke, which tasted like medicine. They also blew it when they had the opportunity to buy Pepsi and eliminate their biggest competitor, but failed to do so because of the arrogance of their own management.

Kendall Jenner is a nobody. I don’t know why they even bothered to use her, but as a previous posted said, they got a ton of free publicity out of this.

Truth be told I didn’t see a problem with the commercial in and of itself. I take umbrage with the portrayal of the protestors as being clean, peaceful, smiling Happy people when nothing could be further from reality. Every time a group of these guttersnipes gather to promote one of their useless SJW causes they are mostly sporting dumpster diver couture or the ever popular liberal millennials idea of high fashion…Pajamas! They also forgot to throw litter around the street and smash the windows of a store front or two looting is mandatory at SJW protests and where were the bruised and bloodied dissenters? we all know if you disagree with protesting liberals they tend to become a little violent, finally Kendall Jenner handing the police officer a Pepsi,in reality the mob of protestors would have been hurling cans, bottles, rocks and insults at the police and Jenner as well for giving the Pepsi to a cop. Other than the total lack of realism it wasn’t a bad commercial!

Lets be honest, if it was anyone else but one of those trashy, talentless, cum dumpsters nobody would care about this commercial.

The whole point of the commercial was to pull it. I would have never seen it if it hadn’t made such a stink. Now it has way more views on YouTube than it probably would have ever had on TV because so many people are cord-cutters now.

How much did Pepsi pay for this blog? Nothing? Mission accomplished! Free coverage on evening news, trending globally on twitter, discussion on radio talk shows, blog after blog… Their name is out there. Pepsi, pepsi, pepsi… They’re big enough that this won’t affect sales at all… At their size, they just need to keep their name in front of people.

It is not a screw up, it was all done by design, knowing it would create a media buzz bomb. And media whore Kendall was more than happy to partake in it. Both Pepsi & Jenner got he attention they wanted. Lets not act like they didn’t know this would be controversial.

“Right wing rallies revolve around lower taxes, abortion, and the gays.” More like “Right wing rallies revolve around hating minorities, loving Jesus, and more guns for everyone.
