Tell me someone knows who the asshole pit bull owner is in Barnstable….

So let me get this straight. The dog comes into Pet Smart with a muzzle on because the owner claims it attacked another dog. The owner then allows one of his employees to groom this dog with the muzzle off. Stop right there. What kind of asshole puts his employees in danger like that? The dog has to wear a muzzle in public. It’s obviously a threat.

But apparently the policy of the Hyannis Pet Smart is, “as long as the pit bull attacked a dog and not a human being, it’s perfectly safe to groom it without a muzzle, as long as the owner said the dog was sweet as can be.” Makes sense.

Of course the most insane part of this story is that the owner got the dog back after the attack, and AFTER they discovered that he LIED and the dog was muzzled because it bit a human being. Now this dog, who was obviously raised to be a savage by some nudnik who more than likely has a chinstrap, is gonna be euthanized because his owner is human garbage. Oh, and a 22 year old woman making minimum wage at a chain pet store has broken bones, torn flesh, and was so injured that she couldn’t be treated at a Cape Cod hospital and had to be life flighted to Boston.

Yea, we need this chud’s name and his Facebook too. That would be great.

Look, I’m not interested in what the rest of the Internet is interested in whenever a story like this comes out – getting into a whole debate about whether or not pit bulls are inherently violent animals. I just know that pit bulls are like flat brimmed Chicago Bulls hats. The hat itself isn’t ratchet, but the people who buy them generally are. I apologize if you’re a non-ratchet pit bull owner, but you know it’s true. These things are bred specifically because they are in high demand in the dooshnozzle free market. As long as there are shitheads with pimped out Honda Civics, there will always be people looking to buy pit bulls.

Personally, I’m not an anti-pit bull kind of guy. It’s just the last kind of dog I’d ever wanna own, and I don’t understand why people would choose to buy a pit bull when you can literally buy any other kid of dog. Can’t be having shit like this in the streets of Boston last summer:

Of course the owner was the walking stereotype you knew he’d be.

But whatever, it’s America. Buy whatever kind of dog you want. Just understand that you are responsible for whatever that dog does. Especially if you buy a dog like a pit bull that is capable of tearing you apart in ways that a Beagle or a golden retriever cannot.

And whoever owns this dog is a gigantic piece of shit, they should be arrested, and we should blog about them before they take their Facebook down. So if you know who it is, screenshot everything and send it to the Turtleboy Refugees page, or just email us at turtleboysports@gmail.com.

You started the article by asking “Tell me someone knows who the asshole pit bull owner is in Barnstable….” and in a surprise twist, they’re not some hood ratchets, but an elderly couple from Forestdale, Clifford (age 80) and Edith (age 78) Gardner.

      A website called animals24-7.org has a telling follow up…

“A questionable pit bull adoption from an as yet unidentified animal shelter… a much questioned decision by Sandwich police chief Peter Wack to give the pit bull Bubba another chance after he mauled 62-year-old Elizabeth Hiatt in September 2017, a purported PetSmart policy against grooming muzzled dogs, and a groomer with a long history of pit bull advocacy combined on December 27, 2017 to send the groomer, Sienna Bryden, 22, to hospital in Boston by helicopter.”

Turns out when the pit bull mix attacked another dog previously, it ALSO attacked a person, resulting in broken bones and 100 stitches. Oh, and the groomer was a ‘pit bull advocate.’

There is also a side note in the story about a pit bull that attacked a person, was returned to the WORCESTER Animal Rescue League…where it was rehomed after attacking the person.

I worked at a Petsmart very briefly, mostly because I needed the money, but also because I love critters. BIG mistake. Aside from treating their stock animals like garbage, they treat their employees even worse. I was bitten by a customer’s dog and required hospitalization…and was threatened with termination if I didn’t return to work within 3 days. The damn dog was even allowed back into the store and into the grooming salon. Now before you say “why dincha sue?” um….not gonna afford a lawyer on $10/hour. For the love of fuck, go anywhere else. I guarantee there’s a great privately owned groomer within the same driving distance as Petsmart.

“Per state policy, the dog was released to the owner”…Massachusetts is lenient even on vicious dogs…wtf? Is someone claiming profiling, or that the animal shelters are too full? Must be the puppy mill to prison pipeline…

Too bad someone wasn’t carrying and took out the owner, and the dog. In that order.

That is probably the best analogy you could have written. It’s so true. That poor woman better sue every single person she can. That owner is a fucking asshole and he deserves to lose everything he has. I remember that first attack and how controversial it was that the town was going to order the dog be euthanized. They gave that dog and owner a second chance and this is what he does? He basically said “fuck you” to everyone. I hope you find out the guys name and fuck his world up. I hope the victim sues the fuck out of everyone and gets paid, big time. I hope they make the owner of the pitbull kill it just because he deserves to be traumatized. Fuck this guy. Fuck him. fuck him fuck him fuck him

I completely agree, TB. Pitbulls are a bad breed (my words, not TBS) just like (many of) the owners. There IS a type in most cases who think owning a “badass dog” makes them equally as badass and a “force to be reckoned with.” THOSE people should not own dogs. If pitbulls are not going to be eradicated through spaying and neutering, then leave them to the responsible dog owners.

Are you kidding me!???!!. Lawrence, MA is a wonderful city with a vibrant, cultured community that is the envy of societies worldwide. You know one of our most beloved American poets is a Lawrencian; maybe you’ve heard of him, Robert Frost. “Nature’s first green is gold…”.

A lot of professions have dangers, but their employers, along with state laws, are not supportive of the line person doing the actual work.

The groomer would probably have been fired for refusing to groom this dog.

In real estate, when some hood rat comes into the office and you feel uncomfortable letting him ride in your car, you can be accused of discrimination and you could lose your license. As a landlord, if you have a bad feeling about a tenant (i.e. drugs) and you refuse to rent to him, you could lose your property as the result of a federal discrimination lawsuit. And when you have a bad tenant, it usually takes over a year for the courts to allow you to evict the trash. That’s because our laws side with the trash and protect the trash.

Who “grooms” a pitbull? Seriously they have so little fur! You literally dampen a washcloth and wipe them down. Was this guy too lazy to clean his own dog, or just wanted to be seen in public with it? Also once a dog has bitten ANY creature, human or dog, why is it out in an environment that is not only already over stimulating (food and smells and noise and bright lights ) but also likely to come snout to snout with other animals to begin with? I’ve worked with challenging rescue dogs and just can’t believe anyone could be that fucking STUPID. No way did he not know that he was putting himself, the dog, and everyone around him in a dangerous situation.

I’ve owed APBT & APBT / AST mixes my whole life. I’ve never had an issue wit any of them. It’s all about how they are raised & care for. Most of those ppl mistreat & make their dog aggressive. I’ve been bit by a Pitt that was raise to be aggressive & I know it’s not the dogs fault it’s the owners. My dog is 90lbs & is a sweetheart. All he wants to do is give love. It really infuriates me when I see story’s like this due to stupid ppl owning dogs they have no control over. If my dog was aggressive toward ppl or other dogs there is no way I bring him any where that would lead to a situation like this. If I was the groomer personally I would have kept the muzzle on due to knowing & understanding the breed. I feel terrible for this employee for having to go their this because this idiot lied about the dogs true aggressiveness. Shame of them & I hope they get sued for this. That way they will learn a lesson on how not to be a total liar. I hate ppl like them. #don’tbullymybreed

I agree. I am not saying there aren’t responsible dog owners. There certainly are. However, these dogs are bred to do serious damage if they do attack. It’s like being a passenger on a motorcycle vs. a Hummer. If something does go wrong, you are going to be more seriously injured in most cases by being a passenger on a motorcycle vs. in a Hummer. Same goes for Doberman pinschers which are bred to be attack dogs.

I carry a breaking stick w/me at all time just Incase something happens while we are out. My brother bred APBT for years from his licensed kennel. He he never once had an issue w/ any of the dogs he raised. Before I was allowed to get my baby boy he made sure I was educated on all things related to the breed good & bad. We live in Brockton so there is so many irresponsible “pittbull” owners it’s sad. My brother had to pull over & break up a dog fight on tremont st. The guy was walking his pity & another came from nowhere & attack. The guy had no clue what to do. My brother hopped out with what ever he had handy & broke them up in seconds. Dude was so ghetto he didn’t even thank him just said he was going to kill the other dog. Those are the ppl that should not own a dog at all. It sad the breed gets a bad reputation because of assholes like this.

No it gets a bad rep for killing people

Some treated them like any other dog and no abuse or fighting but they were still killed like the guy in his 40’s taking down his xmas tree last year and for no reason whatsoever his dog attacked and ate him under the damn tree! So how do you explain those types? Its in their dna like dobermans whose brains swell in later yrs making them attack their owners. You obviously have no clue

“I’ve never had an issue wit any of them” “I carry a breaking stick w/me at all time just Incase something happens while we are out. ”

Rick James added, ” what I’m gonna do just all of the sudden just jump up and grind my feet in somebody’s couch… Come on, I got a little more sense than that. …Yeah, I remember grinding my feet into Eddie’s couch.”

“What does that mean grinding my feet into eddies couch?? ”

          Google it.

The whole reference means: there is a disconnect between the statement that your pit bulls are sooo safe, but on the other hand, you have to carry a ‘breaking stick’ in case something ‘happens.’

Poor girl won’t be able to sue the pit bull’s owner because, guaranteed, he doesn’t have a dime to his name, lives in public housing, and has and/or sells multiple EBT cards.

Hope she goes after her employer for having an ostensibly dangerous policy. Failing retail chain or not, they’re still worth millions and not 3 EBT cards, a selection of faux-gold chains, baggy jean shorts, and multiple child-support payments.

I hope she’s doing well. I’d like to hear an update on her status (if possible, obviously) in the article where the douchefuck owner is named, TB!

Isn’t it amazing how they live in apartments with these dogs? Try to find an apartment that allows pets. Near impossible, yet THEY can do it. I bet those landlords live far far away.

      • Independent Thinker
        December 30, 2017 at 6:14 am

Here’s the latest: If you own rental property and you state that pets are not allowed, you are discriminating against “disabled” people who need “comfort” dogs, “emotional support” dogs, or “therapy” dogs. When some loser shows up with a dog and you don’t want to rent to them, they are very quick to point out that they are “disabled” and that they allegedly need the dog. Then when they move in their dog trashes the place and their dog craps all over the yard and they don’t pick it up.

The way around it seems to be to have writing in the lease, up front, stating that a NOTARIZED letter is required from their physician and from their vet stating that they are disabled, what the disability is, and that the dog is required in order for them to cope with their disability, although this will probably be challenged in the courts as being an unnecessary hardship.
