Reader email:

So I figured this company is worthy of a Turtleboy story. Recently a car rear ended me and while it was in the shop this past week getting fixed I had a rental car. Came out of my house yesterday (in Dorchester) and someone totally smashed it and ran.

Well come to find out three witnesses stopped the guy. He pretended he was getting out to leave his information and as soon as they turned around he hopped in his car and left. So they never got the plate but they got the model and company on the car. REM services LLC.  I called the company and they basically told me to go fuck myself and I had no proof because they didn’t actually get the plate just the company name. I am a single mother with a 5 year old and was told by the insurance company I was going to have to pay the $1,000 deductible for something that wasn’t my fault so I was majorly bummed.

Fast forward a few hours and one of my neighbors showed me footage of the whole thing. Google these people. You won’t be disappointed. The worst part is they transport HANDICAPPED people whose families are paying decent money to make sure they’re being transported safely. Also have been sued for over$700,000 dollars for billing people for services they never rendered. The reviews on google are insane. I don’t even know how these people are still open for business.  Enjoy!

This is amazing. They literally just smash into that car, leave the scene, and it’s all caught on film. So we went to check out the Google reviews, and they were everything you dreamed they would be and more. Apparently their drivers not only smash into cars and leave the scene, they also cut people off and yell “YOU STUPID” at other drivers:

They blow through stop signs and flip the bird at people who have a problem with this:

They actually do this a lot it seems, with vans full of disabled people:

Oh, and they try to kill people on bikes:

This is insane. Who the hell is contracting with this company? Who cares so little about the well being of their patients that they willingly hand them off to this ragtag boob company?

Then there’s the $700,000 worth of Medicaid fraud:

A Bedford-based transportation service provider has agreed to pay more than $700,000 to resolve allegations that it submitted false claims to the state’s Medicaid program (MassHealth) for medically unnecessary wheelchair van rides, Attorney General Maura Healey announced today. It also allegedly submitted claims for services that should have been provided at a lower cost through a MassHealth transportation broker.

The AG’s investigation revealed that REM Transportation Services, LLC (REM) submitted the false claims from January 5, 2010 to December 31, 2014. Many of the MassHealth members allegedly receiving the rides were ambulatory and did not use wheelchairs or need assistance, as required under MassHealth regulations.

“Medicaid providers cannot cheat the system by violating regulations intended to protect the fiscal integrity of a program that benefits low-income people,” AG Healey said. “This settlement provides restitution to that program and ensures that taxpayer dollars are used to help members, not to unjustly enrich providers.”

Additionally, investigators also determined that during the same time period, REM fraudulently billed for more than 40,000 rides provided to members who reside in community-based settings where a selective contract with a transportation broker was in effect. Regulations provide that for members who reside in community-based settings, MassHealth will, under most circumstances, only pay transportation providers for nonemergency rides when they are provided through those competitive selective contracts. As a result of REM’s conduct, MassHealth overpaid REM for services in violation of their provider contract and MassHealth regulations. Under the terms of the settlement, REM has agreed to pay a total of $717,798.48 to the Commonwealth.

In a nutshell they were picking up old people all over town, taking them for joy rides, and then billing the taxpayers (Mass Health). REM Services is supposed to be for people in wheelchairs, but they were picking people up who weren’t in wheelchairs and doing the work that an ambulance would do. The ambulance companies charge significantly less and get their contracts through bids. So REM Services cut the line, stole from the taxpayers, and screwed over the companies that were supposed to do the work. Oh, and on the way to the hospital they smashed into some cars, ran through stop signs, and told anyone who didn’t like it to fuck off.

I’m just shocked that Maura Healey has sued someone other than Donald Trump or law abiding gun shops.

So we called the phone number on the side of the van – 617-876-0444. It brings you to an automated message that sounds like a woman who’s spent more money on Newport 100’s than she has on food and lodging combined. She tells you, “I’m away from my desk. Contact Val at 617-212-5252.” Then it tells you the mailbox is full. Obviously this is the kind of company you’d want to do business with. Plus Val’s email is legit:

According to the secretary of state’s officer the company is managed by some Russian guy from Belmont named Alexei Zataenko:

Who may or may not own a non-existent flower shop too:

As well as owning a consulting company that employs one person, who may or may not be Val:

Online companies that review transportation companies like REM Services give them rave reviews:

Shocking that they find it impossible to reach someone there. Val seems so accessible with her gmail account.

Their website is state of the art too. Peep the domain:

https://remservices.weebly.com/

Yea, they couldn’t spring for the extra $18 a year to get rid of the .weebly.com at the end. Things are clearly going well.

The images that they have uploaded onto this professionally done website are all high quality pixels too:

They have a job listing for “driver wanted” that was posted three years ago. Or is it “driver’s needed”?

If you want to apply for this position just fill out the online form.

LOL. Just kidding. You have to bust out the scanner and email it to Val, or just use the pony express to mail it to her.

Former employees have great things to say, and are all fluent in English:

“I loved working with disables people and because they are special I liked working with them because they become part of me.”

Oh yea, this is the guy I want carting my grandmother to the hospital as he crashes into parked cars and blows through red lights.

Anyway, what I couldn’t find out is who is contracting these people? Someone is hiring them. These people aren’t ending up in their vans on accident. And the loved ones of those people have a right to know that they’re being driven around like it’s Grand Theft Auto. Oh, and the insurance company that’s trying to stiff this woman because her rental car got smashed into now knows who to bill and how to contact them. Have fun trying to get ahold of Val though.

Send the footage to the BPD. Pretty solid evidence of the hit and run.
    Then call your own lawyer.

You state about REM Services: “they were picking people up who weren’t in wheelchairs and doing the work that an ambulance would do. ” What? When did Maura Healey say that? She said the riders were ‘ambulatory’, meaning they can walk, not that they should ride in ambulances. The passengers therefore should have taken a car, taxi, Uber, or bus, not an ambulance or a handicapped-equipped van, both of which cost too much for people who can get about on their own.

TB you should beg DeDe Delgado and her SJWs for forgiveness. Like you did with that Mad Mommy crew. DeDe hobbled your FB biz plan. Come on, dude, you know you’ve been bested. You picked a fight, bullied someone and figuratively beat you like a rug.

I usually don’t feed the trolls but this time I will. The fact that Hugh Ass’ comments aren’t routinely deleted by a moderator speaks volumes about this site’s view on Freedom of Speech. The fact that unpopular speech isn’t being censored reminds me of how often we see other forums or sites heavily moderated. How many news sites even allow comments anymore? We see some openly racist comments on here and almost all of them are typed to discredit this forum. Despite not being deleted, they are almost completely ignored, evidenced by the up/down votes. It’s almost as if we can actually determine who the adults are by just their words.

DeeDee is my favorite person in the world. Because of her, TB built the app and now I don’t get pop ups when I read their stories. Makes my Turtleboy experience so much nicer. Give DeeDee an inch for me!

This is the guy – www_facebook_com/alexei_kataenko.9 , (switch underscore for DOT.) There’s youngin’s from Belmont High, even though he has numerous relatives and friends from the Ukraine.

Look into some of the current handicapped prime contractors, they are using REM Services as a subcontractor. Basically they take some money off the top and pay REM for shittier less expensive service. Most states require subcontractors to be pre-qualified to perform subcontract work for a prime. The question is, has the prime contract submitted REM for approval, or are they keeping them hidden and merely billing as services provided. To do so with getting approved is fraud.

sounds like your typical russian scam business, they provide medical services/transportation and bill the govt. (medicaid and masshealth).

I used to work for one these places when i was in my twenties (general ambulance in brighton), the owner, a fat ukrainian, would steal money right out of the employees paychecks, no bullshit.

    REM.
    They’re awesome.
At least once a week on average some of their drivers like to race with me in 7 am traffic heading south through Mattapan, Milton and Randolph.
Doesn’t matter if they’re running empty or with clients.
I won’t comment on the physical appearance of the drivers, lest I get called a racist.
Every single one of them share certain traits.
    I’ll leave it at that.
    Fkn clowny shitheads.
