Providence JournalThree teachers have resigned from Blackstone Valley Prep after the charter school confirmed allegations that they posted hurtful messages about some of their students. The school has not identified the teachers who left. The messages were shared in a Google Doc with the entire school community on Monday. Jeremy Chiappetta, executive director of the BVP network, said the school has not completed its internal investigation and there could be more disciplinary measures taken.

The teachers who resigned were trained by Teach for America (TFA), an alternative teacher training program that places young adults in schools across the country. They were suspended by that program. Teach for America offers five to seven weeks of summer training before someone is hired by schools. Typically, these students are recent college graduates. TFA requires a two-year commitment.

Chiappetta said the school launched an investigation, suspended the teachers, and, on Tuesday, confronted them. The school accepted their resignations after confirming the allegations were true. In the expletive-ridden messages, teachers spoke casually about students, calling them “idiots,” and “dumb [expletives].”

At about 9 a.m. Monday, students, faculty and staff received an email from a teacher’s email address with a link to a Google Doc. The document includes 18 pages of screenshots from the inter-office messaging application Slack. The school said the teacher’s email was hacked and he did not intentionally share the messages.

Here’s some things they wrote:

  • Bianca Caraza, a 9th-grade English teacher, responds to 10th-grade English teacher Everett Epstein telling her a student spelled “Ta-Nehisi Coates” wrong by calling the student a “f—ing idiot.”

• When 9th-grade math teacher Lindsey Allcock talks about a student being sly about taking his phone out and failing his classes, Caraza responds by calling him a “f—ing idiot.” She says that if he “f—-“ up again he should be sent to her room, “and I will not be so pleasant.”

Screen Shot 2016-05-31 at 12.26.24 PM

• Allcock calls a student a “dumb a–,” and so “d— dumb” for not moving his seat. Another teacher, David Jose, then says the student “moved his seat in a “di–” way.

• Caraza, responding to 10th-grade history teacher Steven Tedeschi’s comments about parents’ expectations for academics and behavior, tells him she wishes teachers could hit the parents. Tedeschi then tells her to move to Arizona, “start your own charter, and commence with the floggings.”

• Caraza calls a parent a “mother-f—— puta” (Spanish for slut) and “lying pendeja (stupid) scum,” adding she hopes her son fails all his classes.

• Caraza says she wants to send a student a middle finger emoji, adding that the student “is staying after school every day until the end of time.”

• Tedeschi calls the mom of the student made fun of for her misspelling “a loser,” adding that “clearly Columbia doesn’t provide access to parenting programs, or if they do, she didn’t take advantage.”

Wow. If you can’t trust Ms. Allcock, then who can you trust? Seriously, is there ANY name you can think of that would possibly be worse for teaching a bunch of horny teenagers than Ms. Allcock? I know you can’t choose your last name, but you can choose your career. And if your last name is Allcock then you have to cross teaching off the list. Can’t do it.

I can’t believe three teachers would be this dumb. Oh wait, they’re Teach For America charter school employees. So they aren’t real teachers. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – charter schools are the biggest scam going right now. They’re nothing more than for-profit scams that ideologues on both the left and the right use because they get taxpayer money and don’t have to play by the same rules. Just ask the faculty at Seven Hills Charter School who plagiarized a Buzzfeed article on microaggressions and forced their students to pose for pictures, holding signs about things that never happened to them:

Public schools have a never ending stack of applications from qualified candidates with backgrounds in education and degrees in the appropriate fields. Charter schools get a bunch of mass produced Teach For America 22 year old dopes who have no intention of wasting their careers teaching. That’s just a fact.

Just check out some of these winners. You’ve already seen Allcock. Here’s Bianca Caraza and Steven Tedeschi:

Steven Tedeschi would probably make a great fisherman. And Bianca could’ve gotten a job working for the Bernie campaign. But these people obviously would not be hired to teach in a public school.

Just look at the message that one of them wrote. “Move to Arizona, start your own charter, and commence with the flogging.” They’re only half kidding. Starting your own charter school is a great way to make a buttload of cash off the taxpayer’s dimes. They know that Republicans will eat that shit up because charter schools don’t allow teacher’s unions. And they know Democrats will eat it up because they’re allegedly helping poor minority children in “failing” school districts.

Look, I can’t help but empathize with these fake 22 year old teachers. Lots of kids suck, and it’s only natural to talk shit about them. What job doesn’t involve shit talking about the people you deal with when they’re not around to hear you? Of course the problem is you’re supposed to text each other on your personal phones or get drunk at the bar. Whatever you do, don’t write these things on a shared Google doc over the school’s email. Real teachers would know that because they’re smart. Teach For America teachers don’t understand that because they’re dumbass 22 year old kids who aren’t ready for a real job yet.

Oh yea, and how bout that cover up by the school? The teachers email was “hacked.” LOL. Love it. Newsflash – hacking doesn’t happen nearly as often as people claim it happens. It’s just a knee jerk thing that people say because most people don’t understand what the word “hacking” means. Thus it becomes a great way to absolve yourself of doing stupid things. And it works perfectly because look at how dumb people are:

Screen Shot 2016-06-24 at 11.12.21 AM

Screen Shot 2016-06-24 at 11.12.33 AM

First of all, information on school emails is far from private. Don’t tell the Internet lawyers that though. Secondly, there was no hacker. More than likely what happened was that one of the teacher’s coworkers was disgusted by the things they were saying so they spilled the beans and sent the email out. Only a moron would think that some high school kid “hacked” the teacher’s email accounts.

The bottom line is you don’t send your kid to charter schools to get a better education. You send them there to keep them away from the crazy kids whose parents would never enter them into a charter school lottery. And this is what you get – underpaid, unqualified teachers who never had the intention of being teachers for very long to begin with.

First indicator of an issue – – “Ta-Nehisi Coates” – “Ta-Nehisi Coates is a national correspondent at The Atlantic, where he writes about culture, politics, and social issues. He is the author of The Beautiful Struggle and Between the World and Me. ”

THIS is what is being presented in 10th grade English?

This stuff happens in public schools as well. Last year my son was a freshman and has a lap top that he uses in school. School rule is that students are allowed to use tablets and laptops, as long as they are using it for school. While in English class he was logged into Steam (gaming website) playing a game. The teacher held him after the bell rang and informed him that he was no longer allowed to use his laptop in class because he was caught playing a game. He then went to lunch and his friends asked him what happened. During his explanation, he called the teacher a bitch and apparently there was a teacher with in ear shot. He got 3 days detention. Fair enough punishment in my opinion.

First day of his detention, i show up pick him up and he wasn’t outside waiting so i walk into the office reception and the entire office is empty. I hear voices form the offices down the hall and as i approach i hear a woman on a curse filled tirade regarding a punk kid and her trashy parents. I loudly cough to get their attention and it turned out that it was the assistant principal cursing up a storm to the principal. They walk out of the office and immediately recognize me because i had just met with them the day before about the whole “bitch” thing. First thing i said was “i heard what you were saying …. didn’t you just give my son 3 days detention for a mild version of what you just did?” The assistant principal replies, “this was a private conversation, the office doors should be locked and you shouldn’t be in here” I reply “Oh REALLY!?” The principal says that she would handle this and the assistant walked away. I sit in her office, she apologizes and says “you know people have bad days … in the interest of fairness, we will cancel the other two days of detention and remove the discipline report from his record. Really? That easy huh?

Personally i think he should have served the 3 days detention because he was disrespectful but it wasn’t really worth talking about it any longer, he had been punished at home and i had things to do.

All school districts have plenty of dirty laundry, if you look hard enough. It just sucks that these “teachers” were talking about the kids. If the grownups want to be dooshnozzles, fine. Just don’t drag the kids into it.
