In September the School Committee hired the Norwell-based Good Harbor Techmark, to do a complete safety audit on the Worcester Public Schools. This week they released their findings, and wouldn’t ya know it – it’s EXACTLY what Turtleboy has been calling for for the past year. They listed 33 “critical” recommendations to improve safety, including:

  • Security enhancements including classroom locks and improvements to main entrances
  • A superintendent who actually communicates with school safety liaison Rob Pezella
  • A bigger voice for parents when it comes to student safety
  • New emergency planning
  • Having students practice “run/hide/fight type responses” instead of sitting at their desk and hoping not to get shot.
  • Improve on the “lack of timely communication” between administration and parents.
  • Strengthen the partnership with the Worcester Police Department

One of the few things they praised was the addition of police officers in all the secondary schools. Which is weird, because according to lame duck busy body Tracy Novick, this would be an armed encampment and would lead to the school to prison pipeline.

My favorite part about the audit is when they CLEARLY made reference to Turtleboy Sports:

“The inability to rapidly counter misinformation through the use of social media and alerts resulted in further escalation.”

Newsflash – there was no “misinformation” to counter.” We provide the truth, and the reason they don’t “counter” it with anything, is because they know it’s the truth. So instead of proving that we’re lying, which is impossible because we are addicted to the truth, they call us racist, start boycotts, and block Turtleboy Sports on the school servers.

The bottom line is that this vindicates everything we’ve been saying for the last year. Schools are better off when kids are safe, and we should take all necessary actions to make sure that safety is the top priority. But instead we have allowed anti-police, Urkel glasses-wearing, Old Balls-marrying charlatans to gain influence with the FORMER superintendent Melinda Boone.

As a result our schools were not safe until Turtleboy forced Boone and Petty to put cops in the schools, and finally forced Boone to resign. Now that Tracy Novick and Hilda Ramirez are gone, and have been replaced by the much more competent Donna Colorio and Molly McCullough, this audit will be taken seriously and it looks like we might be getting our schools back from the Circlejerk.

The Turtleboy Sports Revolution lives.

Many larger urban school districts have quite a lot of experience with this. Things that work are well-known
to those who have the experience, or do the research. Most of it is common sense.

So there is a price tag with all of this and it isn’t cheap. Don’t be surprised if the powers to be play the move the money around to pay for this. Scare tactics like program cuts, staff reductions, sports programs. After all no one is going to hold a fund raiser for safety, but they will for programs that might be on the block. In the end the game plan could be cut the programs and use the money for “safety”. Wait for the community to organize to pay for the cut\reduced programs.
