It takes a special kind of lurch beast to steal a memorial dedicated to a family member who lost their life to suicide.

One of my pals down the Cape sent me a message this morning. He was asking Turtle Nation to help find a priceless nautical clock that was stolen from a family restaurant sometime in the last week of August.

It’s not just your run of the mill time piece. It’s an irreplaceable memory.

Seafood Sam’s is a quaint little spot in Falmouth where you can go and eat your weight in delish things. The owner, Mike Lewis, lost his brother James to suicide in 1995. When Mike went to his brother’s house, after his family’s loss, he saw this beautiful nautical clock. It reminded him of James and so he took the clock as his keepsake. He had a memorial plaque created to hang under the piece in his restaurant. That way, he would always have a piece of his brother with him.

There it sat for years and years until someone ripped it off the wall. The problem here is that Falmouth is a tourist spot. We need to share this far and wide as the culprit might not still be in the area.

Sure, Mike can buy a new one on Amazon but it didn’t belong to his brother. The emotional significance just isn’t the same.

So let’s see if the Turtles can bring it home.

You can message Phil at Filter Free Falmouth (Facebook Page) who has offered to pick it up or drop the clock off at Seafood Sam’s with NO questions asked.

If you have a lead you can message the Turtleboy Inbox or email SouthShoreTurtleGirl@hotmail.com

Great article. Sad article. A local Pawn Shop would be a great place to start for local Police. Quick money for a quick fix. All that brass and intricacies with that clock got to be worth serious coin.

That’s the price of a replacement that has no sentimental value attached. The one stolen was his brothers, therefore priceless since the brother has since passed. Please use your brain. You can replace the sentimental part, that’s what makes it priceless numbnutz.

Scouring craigslist now, I’ll start in the area and work outwards, are there any identifying features that would allow the clock to stand out? Scuffs dings dents anything?
