A couple weeks ago we published a blog exposing Worcester Magazine editor Walter Bird for the inappropriate sexual messages he was sending younger women who were way out of his league. They were disturbing because he was using his “influence” as an editor of a free magazine and a member of the Citizen’s Advisory Council in order to use these women for his sexual purposes. It was a pretty controversial appointment because a member of the media probably shouldn’t be serving in the government he’s writing about:

“Once we have the press as a player in our government and not as an observer, we lose our checks and balances,” Councilor Konnie Lukes said. “It’s bad policy.”

He was appointed to this board by the City Manager and confirmed by the City Council. As a member of the committee he has access to the City Manager and other politicians who appointed him to it in the first place. It’s assumed to any woman he speaks with that he has influence with those who are in power. He knows he’s not very attractive, which is why he has to use his limited “power” to put women in uncomfortable situations. When you’re speaking to women who you have a professional business relationship with, and over whom you have the ability to help out professionally, it’s beyond inappropriate to send messages like this:

And this

And this

“Rock the place and then go back to work.” Key words – “go back to work.” He had working relationships with these women. And with this one particular woman he alluded to the fact that he wanted to have sex with her at his place (rock the place), before they both returned to work. Of course the person who had the power in this relationship was Walter Bird. And the woman he was speaking with obviously felt that if she did not have sex with him it would not be good for her career. No woman should ever find herself in this position in a professional environment.

We know who all three women are, and are withholding their names for good reason – because the local media will try to slut shame them. Because the local media in this town is run by sexist pigs who don’t care that professional women are treated like sex objects by a man they are all trying to protect. You need look no further from this email from Turtlegram and Gazette race-baiting columnist Clive “Spanky” McFarlane to Councilor Gaffney, which Gaffney has shared on his Facebook page:

Yup, Clive is gonna write a column blaming the whisteblower instead of the sexual harasser. Shocking that a guy who LITERALLY called Gaffney a “slave master” whose gavel at the City Council would sound like a “slave master’s whip” to black people, would be taking this angle:

And every time he swings that gavel in the people’s chamber, it will likely resonate among the city’s community of color with the sting of a slave master’s whip.

Newsflash – if you’re trying to make this story about Mike Gaffney instead of about Walter Bird, you’re a REAL misogynist. They have no concern with the way these women are treated in the workplace, because the men who are writing about it have no idea what it’s like to be a woman in the workplace. They claim they care about these women and are upset about the wage gap. But at the end of the day when they see REAL sexism, their instinct is to protect the sexist. Because Clive McFarlane has no respect or empathy for women in the workplace. Here’s the voice message he left:

You heard the man, Clive McFarlane’s phone number is 508-793-9228, and he wants Michael Gaffney to call him for a comment. Whatever you do, DO NOT call 508-793-9228 pretending to be Michael Gaffney so you can speak with Spanky McFarlane. DO NOT call him over and over again and ruin his day. Spanky is a very busy man and is busy trying to figure out how to blame Walter Bird’s inappropriate actions on the guy who exposed Walter’s inappropriate actions.

This is why the the three women are afraid to come forward – they know they’re gonna get the Gaffney treatment. They know that the MSM will go through their personal history and find some way to paint them as harlots. Because the MSM is in bed with Joe Petty and the McGovern Crime Family. If Walter Bird had exposed Mike Gaffney in this manner the focus wouldn’t be on the whistle blower. If Joe Petty had exposed Walter Bird in this manner the focus would not be on Joe Petty. What Gaffney has done is highlighted the fact that the MSM cares more about attacking him than they do about protecting women.

Anyway, none of this would’ve happened if Buttmunch Billy Shaner hadn’t called Councilor Gaffney a white supremacist. If you recall Gaffney shared this meme about the dangers of censoring free speech, which is commonly attributed to Voltaire:

It’s a quote that’s commonly used by many on the left to warn about the dangers about government censorship. It’s believed that Voltaire originally said it, but others dispute it. What is documented is that a white supremacist from West Virginia once used that quote in 1992, which is where Buttmunch Billy claimed Gaffney got the quote from. Then he made it worse by playing dumb instead of just retracting it:

Today Buttmunch Billy, who probably feels like an idiot since he’s gonna be the reason his boss is gonna lose his job, doubled down and blamed Gaffney for revealing the messages:

Once again, he lies in the first sentence. The blog is not owned by a Holden man. The Holden man owns a marketing company called Worcester Digital Marketing LLC that we hired to run our marketing. But the truth has never been important to Buttmunch Billy. Instead he blamed Gaffney for the way he handled being called a white supremacist shortly after a white supremacist killed a woman in Charlottesville:

There are myriad ways to air grievances to and about a newspaper in a professional manner. Gaffney, a lawyer who serves as chairman of the Worcester Republican City Committee, could have written a letter to the editor criticizing our coverage.

Oh yea, he could’ve written a letter to the Turtlegram and Gazette that no one will read. The same newspaper that called him a slave master. Yea, they’ll give him a fair shake.

Hey Billy, just because you look like you’re transitioning to become a woman doesn’t mean you can understand what it’s like to be a woman working for a sexist like Walter Bird.

He could have requested a meeting with our publisher. He could have chosen any number of tools public officials have long used to criticize their press coverage.

Yea, that’s what he should’ve done. He should’ve called up WoMag so they could issue a page 16 blurb that no one will see. The same magazine that’s on record as stating that they did nothing wrong by calling Gaffney a white supremacist.

Instead, Gaffney chose a sordid and malicious option. He made no attempt to conceal his agenda; he set out to deliberately sabotage Bird’s career. He posted a screenshot of an embarrassing conversation between Bird and a woman to his personal Facebook and Twitter pages, and later sent an email to Turtleboy Sports with more embarrassing information. The blog, always hungry for the kind of sensational content Gaffney provided, published the email in full with added commentary.

Yea, it’s his fault for coming to the “sensationalist” media outlet. The same media outlet that was voted top news outlet in WoMag’s own contest. The site that has by far the largest following in Central Mass. A site with four times the daily traffic of Boston.com. Can’t figure out why he’d come to us. Might be the fact that we’re the most trusted media outlet in town, and the only one that hasn’t called him a slave master or white supremacist. Maybe.

Buttmunch Billy also suggests that Gaffney published these messages without the consent of the women involved:

“He also threatened to post those screenshots if Bird denied their existence. This is a clear and public threat, but more concerningly, it demonstrates that Gaffney’s consideration for the privacy and wellbeing of the women is secondary. Furthermore, if he had gone public with information about Bird because he felt a moral imperative to do so, or in order to initiate a communal debate on questionable behavior, he would have shared those screenshots when he first got them. Instead, Gaffney sat on them. He waited for an indeterminate length of time in order to drop a bomb when it was most advantageous for his own political objectives.”

Hey moron – the women were the ones who gave him the green light. Like many they were disgusted when you called Gaffney a white supremacist. Gaffney has wanted to out Walter for who he is for quite some time now, but he respected them enough not to. He sat on them because unlike Worcester Magazine he respects women. Then Billy fucked up and they took Gaffney off the leash. You did this Billy. You’re the reason your boss is fucked. Just own it instead of being such a bitch.

Anyway, this has proven just how sexist the MSM really is. Look who’s writing about it – all men. Clive, Steve Quist, Dan Margolis, and Buttmunch Billy have suggested that these women might be liars in an attempt to get them to out themselves so they can be slut shamed. The women of Turtleboy were the most disgusted by these messages from Wacky Walter. Many of them can relate. So we wrote about it. Because at Turtleboy we are a family feminist blog that respects women.

Funny how the name callers are the real racists, bigots, liars, and sexual predators. Anyway I noticed at Stop & Shop no copies of Worcester Magazine. I usually pick it up and tear out the Sodoku and throw the rest on top of the heap. I wonder if Stop & Shop told them sexists to take a hike. If so then the only place to get it would be Pennywise.

Could the entire publication be relegated to the TB graveyard?

Clive “Spanky” McFarlane has equivalent credibility as Tawana Brawley. Tut, Tut, Tut.

All are part of the Worcester good old boy club. To cover for a sexual harasser of women. Also, looks like he’s violent too. With another cover-up on that situation. At least decades ago, the people were really old school, WW2 cool and characters. Now, just a bunch of boring boomer sheep. Time to go out to pasture for the duration.
